Jung Wooyoung + Kim Hongjoong ~Hotel Fire~

Wooyoung's POV

"Wooyoung, hurry up. The ads are about to finish," San yelled out. I quickly finished washing my hands, briefly wiping them on the towel before running out of the bathroom and pouncing on the bed. San groaned but I giggled and crawled over, collapsing against his side. His arms immediately snaked around my waist, his chin resting on my shoulder.

"How do you still have so much energy? We've just done two concerts in the last few days," San said with a soft sigh. I grinned and snuggled closer to him in his arms.

"We're in Melbourne Sannie, doesn't it excite you," I asked. Sure, we've done two concerts in two days off so we're relaxing in our hotel room watching The Maze Runner on TV.

"Movie's back on," San mumbled and I quickly rolled onto my back to watch it.

"Hwa Hyung and Joong Hyung were asking if anyone wanted them to pick up something while they're out so I asked them to get some snacks," San said.

"When did they go out," I asked in confusion.

"I think they went for a walk about an hour ago," San replied with a shrug.

"Maybe we should've gone for a walk instead of being lazy like we are," I said with a giggle. San chuckled and ruffled nuzzled his head against mine lightly.

"Nah, I prefer this so much more," he said. We went back to watching the movie quietly. We were watching for a few minutes before I started to hear what sounded like running in coming from the halls. I frowned slightly and glanced at the doorway, feeling San shift slightly from behind me.

"Woo, can you smell that," he asked me.

"Smell what," I questioned, glancing at him as he sat up. He was also frowning and he quickly grabbed the remote, lifting it and turning off the TV before discarding it to the side.

"It smells like smoke," he said. I gave a little sniff and instantly smelt what he did. I glanced around the room but couldn't see anything so I jumped out of bed and ran to the window. I pulled it open and poked my head out, trying to figure out what was going on. It wasn't until I looked up that I realised what the problem was and my eyes widened.

"San, the hotel is on fire," I said quickly as I pulled back from the window. San immediately jumped up from the bed and ran to the cupboard.

"Youngie, put your shoes on," he said. I nodded and rushed to the doorway, putting on my shoes. San came up beside me a few seconds later, handing me my jacket. I grabbed it and slipped it on quickly while San put on his shoes. He opened the door and we were instantly hit by screams as people ran past.

"Hold my hand," San said quickly, reaching his out towards me. I slipped my hand into his and he tugged me out the door. We stuck close together, rushing down the hall with everyone else. I noticed some people going towards the elevators but I quickly pushed San away from it.

"I know darling, I know," he said softly. He swung open the door to the emergency exit and we joined the people rushing down the stairs. We were on the fifth floor so it took a few minutes for us to make it down all the stairs to get to the first floor. When we finally got to the lobby, people were still screaming and panicking, getting more erratic as the alarms finally started to go of throughout the building. Someone crashed into my back, almost sending me flying but San tugged me to his chest, cursing the man out.

"You ok," he asked me.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm not hu-." I cut myself off as I was hit by a sudden realisation.

"What? What's wrong," San asked quickly.

"Jongho's knee. He's rooming alone, how's he supposed to get down the stairs by himself," I said hurriedly. San's eyes widened as it dawned on him and my stomach dropped. Jongho is the maknae, the one person younger than me and the one person it's my duty as the older brother to protect.

"Keep going. I'll meet you outside," I said as I tugged my hand from San's.

"Woo-."

"I'm going back for Jongho," I yelled as I was already sprinting off before San could stop me. I pushed past people to get back to the stairs. It was hard to try climb the stairs as there were still people trying to rush down to get away from the fire. I managed to get a few floors up before I was shoved suddenly and I fell back. My back smacked against the stairs, my head clipping the rails on the way down and I held back a whimper at the pain. I tried to get up but cried out in pain as I felt someone stomp on my ankle. My already previously injured ankle that I only recovered from not too long ago. My eyes welled up with tears but I pushed the pain away as I desperately tried to stand back up so I wouldn't get trampled. It was an eight level hotel that was fully booked with over a hundred people.

"I've got you kid." I was suddenly grabbed and yanked to my feet by someone. I stumbled slightly but clutched the rail, trying to find who helped me but they were already gone. I drew in a deep breath, sniffling slightly before continuing up. The pain in my ankle was sharp but I pushed it to the back of my mind as best as I could. Jongho needs me and I will not let him suffer because of a little bit of pain. It was even harder to push through people with my hurt ankle but I clutched tightly to the rail so I wouldn't fall again. When I finally got to the emergency exit door for the fifth floor, I pulled it open and stepped through. My eyes widened as I saw the amount of smoke that had travelled into the halls already, making it hard to see. There didn't seem to be anyone in the hall though, the only sounds being of the alarms ringing.

It was daunting and slightly scary but I took a deep breath before hurrying down the hall as quickly as I could. Jongho's room number was 519 so it was right down the other end of the hall. My ankle was still aching, making me wince with each step but I kept going. The smoke made my eyes sting and it was getting hard to breathe but yet again, I kept pushing through. I eventually got to the end of the hall and searched, finding 519. I coughed harshly as the smoke was starting to really get to me but I stumbled over to the door and started banging on it.

"Jongho," I yelled out.

"Jjongie, it's Wooyoung," I yelled again before breaking off into a harsh coughing fit.

"JONGHO," I called out as loud as I could banging on the door again. There was still no reply so I tried to open the door but as I thought it would be, it was locked. I tried to call out again but couldn't get a word out before I started coughing again. I clutched at my chest as I started wheezing, my throat burning with each cough. My eyes watered and I started to feel a little light-headed, the pain in my ankle growing. It gave out and I fell to the floor, desperately trying to smack the door with my palm. My chest tightened even more, black spots darkening my vision. My arms gave out after that and a few seconds later my consciousness slipped away.

Hongjoong's POV

"We shouldn't have brought so much, it's so heavy," Seonghwa huffed.

"You're right, we spoil the kids too much," I said with a chuckle as I grabbed one of his bags from him, adding it to the ones I was carrying.

"Thanks," he said and I gave him a soft smile.

"Hey, are we still going to try and see an Australian Rules Football match," Seonghwa asked me.

"Yeah, Jongho wants to see one and I thought it's the least we can do considering he's hurt at the moment. I think we're watching Essendon and Carlton or something," I said with a nod. Jongho had been bugging me about it so I talked to our manager and was able to sort it out.

"Are they good," Seonghwa asked slowly.

"I have no idea, I don't even know the rules of the sport," I said with a shrug, making him chuckle. As we turned down the street our hotel was on, I picked up on the distinct sound of alarms. I glanced down the street and gasped as I saw smoke and flames coming from near the top of the hotel.

"Hwa," I yelled, gaining his attention. He looked up to where I was facing and gasped as well. We were both frozen for a few second before I dropped the bags I was holding and sprinted forwards. I could hear Seonghwa following me, both racing down the street as quickly as our legs would allow us. The boys are still in the hotel and we were on the fifth floor. Those flames look dangerously close to the fifth floor. When we got closer to the hotel, we could hear people screaming and my heart started to race. I searched desperately through the crowd, trying to find any sign of the boys. Seonghwa and I moved closer to the hotel, trying to push through the people. I was fully ready to sprint inside ad search for every one of them but Seonghwa grabbed my arm and stopped me.

"We can't Hongjoong, we need to stay here where it's safe. If we go in, the boys are going to panic and wonder where we are. We have to trust them to get out," Seonghwa said. I was panicked but I drew in a shaky breath, trying to remain calm. I could tell Seonghwa was scared as well, from the way his hand had slid down to grab mine tightly. I'm not usually one for a lot of physical contact but I knew Seonghwa needed it right now so I clutched his hand back just as tightly.

"They're going to be ok, right," Seonghwa asked shakily. I didn't reply, just gave his hand a firm squeeze. I was still glancing over the people milling around, wanting to find at least one of the boys. My breath caught in my throat as my eyes landed on two very familiar gentle giants. I ran towards them, yanking Seonghwa with me as we were still holding hands.

"Yunho, Mingi," I called out, making them both turn around. I let go of Seonghwa's hand before throwing my arms around Mingi's neck and hugging him firmly. Mingi had already bent down, embracing me tightly. I could feel his heart racing and his hands shaking against my back.

"Hey, you're ok Princess, you're safe," I said softly. He sniffled quietly before pulling back, keeping his hand clutching my shirt. I glanced over to check on Yunho, letting out a breath as I saw Seonghwa and Yunho holding each other with their foreheads pressed together.

"Have you seen any of the others," I asked quickly. Yunho pulled away from Seonghwa and shook his head with watery eyes.

"We uh, we were down by the pool. Um, from what I heard, it started on the sixth floor," Yunho said shakily.

"That's ok, I'm sure they'll be alright," Seonghwa said quickly. I nodded as well despite being worried. My biggest concern was Jongho but he went to Yeosang's room earlier and the older will be able to look after him. We all went quiet, watching the front of the hotel anxiously to try and see if the boys were coming out.

"Hyung's!" Seonghwa rushed forwards at the sound, meeting the running San and hugging him firmly. Mingi, Yunho and I moved forwards as well, watching Seonghwa place kisses all over San's head. My heart clenched slightly as I glanced around and realised he was alone. Why is he alone? He and Wooyoung are rooming together which means they would've been clinging to each other like koala's.

"San. San, where's Wooyoung? Where's Youngie," I asked quickly.

"He was alright but he went back for Jongho to make sure he was ok. I tried to stop him but he was gone before I could," San said. His voice was steady and firm but I could tell from the look in his eyes that he was scared.

"Yeosang was with Jongho so they will catch up with him," I said. I'm the leader, I'm supposed to be the one who remains calm. So I can't let the boys see how much I'm panicking on the inside about three of the boys still being unaccounted for.

"They're going to be ok," I heard Seonghwa mumble as he squeezed San's hand.

~~~~~
It took another few minutes before we saw the others coming out. Yeosang stumbled out of the building with Jongho's arm wrapped around his shoulder. They were stumbling together but seemed fine. The two noticed us and came over but I was frozen.
"Where's Wooyoung," San immediately asked the two of them as they got to us, his eyes searching around.
"What," Jongho asked with a frown.
"What do you mean where's Wooyoung? He was rooming with you," Yeosang said. Oh no.
"He was but he was worried about Jongho getting down alone so he went back in to help," San said quickly. Yeosang paled and shook his head with wide eyes.
"W-We didn't see him. Jongho was in my room and we left when we heard the alarms. He wasn't there," Yeosang said.
"No. No, he went back. He went back in," San screamed. He went to run back into the building but Yunho and Mingi grabbed him before he could. San was sobbing uncontrollably at that point, trying to get out of their grip but they wouldn't budge.
"No. I let him go, I let him go," San cried. The others went over to try and console him but I was still frozen. My eyes flicked up to the hotel, seeing the flames had groan and were now spreading to other floors. No. No way. I am not losing Wooyoung. I'm not losing my sweet, innocent, little brother. The boys were preoccupied with San so none of them had enough time to stop me when I sprinted away.
"HONGJOONG!" I ignored Seonghwa's yell, pushing past the people in front of the entrance trying to stop people from going back inside as they blocked the doors. I ended up fully shoving someone over to get through but I didn't care. It's their fault for trying to stop me from making sure my little brother was safe.
I ran up the stairs, taking them two at a time and thanking the lord that I had the great stamina that I did. Smoke was already spreading to the staircase on the fourth floor but I kept going. I grabbed the handle to the emergency exit on the fifth floor but yelped and let go when I felt how hot it was. I quickly put my sleeve over my hand before swinging the door open. The fire had already spread to the fifth floor but not too badly yet, certainly not enough to stop me.
"WOOYOUNG! YOUNGIE CAN YOU HEAR ME," I yelled out, hoping he might hear me and come out but there was no reply. I drew in a deep breath and tugged my shirt over my nose before rushing through the hall. It was hot, almost unbearably so. Almost. Wooyoung went to get Jongho which means he would have gone to his room. Room 519 down the end of the hall. I picked up the pace, running down the hall to get there quicker. I cried out when I saw the body laying on the ground in front of Jongho's door. I dropped down beside the unconscious boy, trying not to panic. I rolled him over and forced myself to remain calm as I confirmed that it was indeed Wooyoung who was unconscious.
"Shit, baby," I muttered. I tugged my shirt over my head, using it to cover Wooyoung's face to try and block more smoke from getting to him. I then slipped an arm under his back and one under his knees before picking him up and standing. I held my breath as best as I could, trying to get back to the staircase. It quickly became obvious that it was no longer possible as the ceiling came down with a crash, blocking our path.
"Shit," I gasped, stumbling back and clutching Wooyoung close. My back hit the wall and I turned to see it was Hwa and I's room behind us. It gave me an idea so I shifted Wooyoung slightly before rummaging through my pockets. I pulled out my keycard and scanned it, shouldering the door open before closing it quickly once inside. There was a little bit of smoke in the room but thankfully not too much. I heaved Wooyoung up again and tugged him further into the room. I glanced around to figure out what to do when I noticed small amounts of smoke coming from under the doorway. I placed Wooyoung down on the bed, slipping my shirt back on before racing to the bathroom and soaking a towel with water from the shower. I placed it on the floor next to the door, over the crack to stop as much smoke and heat as it could. I then raced back to Wooyoung, picking the younger up and carrying him over to the window. I tugged it open and placed Wooyoung down so his head rested back, getting as much fresh air as possible. The air outside was still a little smoky but it was better than nothing.
"Wooyoung, can you hear me," I asked softly as I cupped his face and tilted his head up slightly. His eyes were closed but I could see his lips twitching on shaky exhales. I leant my head down and rested it over his chest, listening to his breathing. It was raspy and shuddery, on account of the smoke inhalation most likely. It did not sound good at all. I drew in a deep breath, trying to calm myself down and stop the panic so I could think properly. My eyes landed on the bag, chucked in the corner after our last concert. I rushed over and ripped it open, rummaging through the contents. I held my breath, hoping to find what I was looking for. The boys tease me for having it but right now it would literally be a lifesaver. I cried out with relief as I found it, tugging it out of my bag and hurrying back to Wooyoung.
"I've got you baby," I mumbled as I gently placed the mask over his face, covering his mouth and nose. I fiddled with the dial on the side until I heard a click and a hiss, signalling the oxygen was coming through.
"There you go," I whispered, running my free hand through his hair as his face twitched and he took a breath. Every Idol group will have oxygen masks with their medics just in case something happens in a concert or training and someone becomes rundown or short of breath. I just happen to usually keep a spare one in my bag just in case of an emergency. An emergency that I certainly did not think would be this kind of emergency.
There was a sudden cough and I glanced down hopefully to see Wooyoung's eyes twitching as he coughed. His hands moved up to grasp my wrist, holding it weakly and trying to push it closer to his face to get the oxygen.
"There you go, easy does it," I said quietly, brushing his hair back gently. His head automatically tilted back with my hand, his eyes finally fluttering open. I let out a small sob I didn't realise I was holding in at the sight, my eyes watering slightly.
"Hey Youngie, hi baby," I whispered. He blinked slowly, drawing in a deep breath that wasn't as raspy as before. He shifted slightly, his hand sliding up my wrist to instead rest on my hand.
"Hyungie," he mumbled into the mask.
"Yeah, I'm here," I said quickly. His eyes darted around the room before landing back on me.
"Jjong," he mumbled.
"Jongho's ok. He got out with Yeosang," I said. Wooyoung nodded, relief showing on his features.
"You did so well Youngie. You were so brave going to protect your little brother," I said softly. Wooyoung's eyes met mine before he glanced around the room again. He gently tugged my hand down and I allowed the mask to lower slightly so he could talk.
"You came in for me," he said quietly. I chuckled lightly, desperately trying to keep the tears from building up in my eyes.
"Of course I did you little rascal. I can't let you be the only hero," I joked, making him smile lightly. He gave a small cough so I quickly put the mask over his face again, allowing him to draw in a few breaths. He tugged my arm down again quickly.
"You know I've probably killed us right," he whispered and my stomach dropped.
"No, absolutely not. For one, we're going to be just fine and we'll get out of this. And even if we weren't going to be ok, it was my choice to come here, not yours," I said finally.
"You came for me Hyung, because I came back in. I didn't even help Jongho, I just signed our death note, how pathetic. You should have just left me," he said bitterly, thumping his head back against the windowsill.
"Jung Wooyoung, you listen to me right now," I said firmly. He glanced back over to me with watery eyes. He's scared, I know that but I'm not going to let him talk down on himself.
"You did good, do you hear me. I don't care that Jongho got out without you, it was just pure luck that Yeosang was already with him. If he wasn't then Jongho would've really struggled," I said.
"I'm scared Hyung, I don't want us to die," he whispered shakily.
"We won't. We're safe in here for now and I heard sirens a few minutes ago meaning the brigade arrived. The boys will find them and tell them we're still inside. They'll get us out," I said.
"Promise," he asked. That is not something I ca promise, not something I can possibly know for sure.
"I promise," I said with a nod. Wooyoung relaxed at that, tugging the mask back over his face. Seeing the tension leave his body despite the stressful situation was more than enough for me to be happy with my decision. He grabbed my hand and tugged me closer so I moved and sat next to him, slipping my arm around his shoulder. He came closer and dropped his head onto my shoulder. I placed my hand over the mask, allowing Wooyoung's hand to drop down.
"I love you," I said, dropping my head down to rest on his. Wooyoung shifted softly before reaching up and grabbing the mask.
"It's ok, I can hold it," I said. He grumbled and whacked my hand, making me let go. To my surprise he moved the mask from his face and placed it onto mine. I instinctively took a breath before bursting into a fit of coughs. I took in a few more breaths, feeling my chest loosen despite not even realising how tight it was. My eyes slip closed on instinct as I breathed in the oxygen.
"There you go Joong Hyung, that's better, isn't it," Wooyoung said softly and I felt him run his fingers through my hair like I did earlier. I knew he still needed the oxygen, probably more than me but I couldn't help taking a couple more deep breaths. After taking a couple more deep breaths, I quickly moved the mask back onto Wooyoung's face.
"Thank you, but I'm ok now. You keep it on for me," I said, ruffling his hair.
"Did everyone else make it out ok," he asked me.
"Yeah, everyone is safe. We'll see them when we get out," I said softly. He sniffled beside me and I rubbed his arm softly to try and soothe him.
"I don't think we will get out," he whispered.
"We will," I said softly. He chuckled humourlessly and shook his head, making me frown.
"Look at the door Hyung," he said before breaking off into sobs. He dropped the mask and hugged me tightly. I glanced over at the door and my eyes widened as I saw that some flames were beginning to lick through the cracks. Crap. I stood up quickly, bringing Wooyoung with me as he was still clinging onto me. I moved closer to the window but Wooyoung suddenly cried out, falling to the ground and clutching his ankle. My eyes widened and I dropped down beside him worriedly.
"Wooyoung, what happened," I asked quickly, dread filling my bones as I noticed the ankle was his previously injured one.
"I got knocked over trying to come up the stairs, hit my head and back. Someone stepped on my ankle," he said through his cries.
"Shit," I said. That is not good but one problem at a time right now. I went back over to the window and stuck my head out. I looked around, seeing people below, fire-fighters amongst them.
"HELP! HELP! UP HERE," I screamed out but no one seemed to hear me. Wooyoung was still sobbing beside me and was now clinging to my leg. I was starting to really panic now, looking back at the door to see the flames growing. I hurriedly searched through my pockets and yanked out my phone that I hadn't even thought about earlier. I ignored the multiple missed calls I had before dialling Yeosang's number. Yeosang is one of the most level-headed and shouldn't panic, hopefully.
"Hyung," he said as soon as he answered, relief in his voice. I could hear loud voices in the background but I didn't pay attention to them.
"Yeosang I need you to listen to me very carefully and do exactly as I say," I said.
"Woo-."
"He's with me. Can you do what I said," I asked quickly.
"Yes," Yeosang said firmly.
"Wooyoung and I are in Hwa and I's room. It's on the left side of the building. I need you to get to the brigade and tell them to look for us. I know you struggle with speaking English sometimes when you're nervous but you just need to tell them there are people stuck. I'll have my head out the window," I explained quickly.
"Ok, I can do that," Yeosang said. I could hear the sound of him running in the background before he stopped.
"I glanced over the edge to try and see him but it was hard with the of smoke and how high up I was.
"Hello. Hello," Yeosang said.
"Sir we need you to stay back."
"No, no. No mt friend, up there. Friend is um, trapped. No come down. Up there." I'm not sure if it was just the situation but hearing Yeosang's hurried, nervous, broken English made me tear up.
"Hyung they see you. They're gonna rescue you," Yeosang said quickly. I went to respond but Wooyoung suddenly screamed, making me jolt in surprise, dropping my phone. I spun around to see the flames had completely burst through the door and were slowly spreading closer. I shook Wooyoung off and bolted to the cupboard on the side, remembering seeing a fire blanket there. I hurried back to Wooyoung who was curled up as close to the wall as he could get, sobbing harshly.
"They're coming Wooyoung, someone is coming," I said as I tugged the blanket out of the packet.
"I'm going to put this on you and it's going to be a bit more but it will protect you," I said quickly.
"N-No Hy-Hyung. Wh-What about y-you," he stuttered out between sobs. I cupped his face, tilting it so we were looking eye to eye as I finally let the tears fall down my face.
"Wooyoung, please. Please let me do this. I need to do this. They're coming to get us but I have to make sure you're ok, no matter what," I begged. Wooyoung let out a sob and hugged me tightly.
"I have faith we're going to be ok but I need to be sure you're safe, no matter what," I whispered, glancing back at the fire that was still coming closer.
"O-Ok Hyung. I love you," Wooyoung cried.
"I know you do. I love you too," I replied, kissing his cheek before moving him back. He curled up again and I put the blanket over him, bundling him up as best as I could. I then hugged him tightly and pressed him closer to the wall. The room was already heating up which means Wooyoung would be quite warm but it doesn't matter, he will be safer. I squeezed my eyes closed tightly, not wanting to watch the fire. This might really be it for me, I just hope they save Wooyoung.
San's POV
My mind felt numb. In fact my entire body was numb. It felt suffocating sitting here with all these white walls, these people smiling. How can they be smiling? How can they smile when my family is in one of these rooms, fighting for their lives? I glanced at the others who were sitting in the waiting room as well. They were all somewhat together in pairs or little groups while I was the only one alone. It's probably like that because they know this is all my fault. I was stupid and let Wooyoung go back alone. I should have stopped him, gone with him at the very least. But I didn't. I was selfish and I let him go alone while I got myself to safety. I could feel the panic creeping up on me again so I quietly stood up and snuck out of the waiting room and into the street. I was wearing a beanie and a mask so I wasn't too worried about getting recognised. The beanie isn't mine though, I realised with a start. It's Wooyoung's beanie that he leant me the other day.
My heartrate quickened and I hurried my steps, slipping down a side road beside the hospital. I clutched my chest with one hand as I slid down the wall, trying to slow down my breathing but it was hard as I was falling into a panic attack. I thumped my head back on the brick wall behind me, my chest rising and falling rapidly. I clenched my eyes closed as the tears fell and sobs started to slip from my lips. I just let it all out, sobbing alone in the side street, until I wasn't alone.
"Why are you crying?" My crying immediately cut off and I looked up to see a girl sitting beside me. She was young, probably 12 or 13 years old.
"Oh, ah, it's nothing. There was an accident and two of my brothers are in hospital now," I said quietly.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. My mum is in hospital as well but she's just working. I come here sometimes to wait until she finishes," the girl said. I sniffled and wiped my eyes quickly with my sleeve.
"Well I'm glad she's ok," I said softly.
"I'm sure your brothers are going to be ok. If they're being looked after someone like my mum, then they're going to be ok," she said.
"I hope so," I whispered.
"Would you like a hug," she asked me. I sniffled weakly before nodding with teary eyes. Ok sure, this it a little girl that I just met but I could really do with a hug. She leant over and hugged me tightly. I left my arms by my side, not wanting to make the young girl uncomfortable but it was still nice to receive a hug. She pulled away after a few seconds and stood up, holding out her hand. I sighed but grabbed her hand and let her 'pull me up' that was me pushing myself up being she wouldn't have been strong enough.
"Well it was nice meeting you. Look after yourself San, I hope the boys get better," she said quietly before leaving. It took me a few seconds to realise she spoke in Korean and knew my name. It cheered me up slightly but I still felt awful. I'm going to feel awful for a long time given that Hongjoong and Wooyoung are still in hospital. It was terrifying when they were pulled out of the building with the giant ladder. Hongjoong wasn't even conscious and Wooyoung was barely conscious. It was horrible and we still don't know what their condition is. I sighed to myself and wiped my eyes quickly before slowly walking back into the hospital. I went down the hall and back into the private waiting room we were in. I paused in surprise when I saw that it was empty, none of the other boys were there. Where were they? Before I could panic, wondering if something had happened, the door opened again.
"San!" I spun around just in time for me to see Yeosang's arms go up before wrapping around me quickly. I was shocked but instantly hugging him back, needing the comfort.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have left him go back," I whimpered before bursting into tears again.
"Shh, shh, it's ok. It's not your fault Sannie. Is that why you walked off? Because you blame yourself for what happened," Yeosang asked softly. I didn't reply, I couldn't, I just sobbed into his neck. He continued to hug me tightly, one hand wrapped around my waist as he rocked us slightly.
"Hey, yeah I've found him. He's blaming himself. Yeah, just get back here, we're in the waiting room." I tilted my head slightly to see Yeosang hanging up his phone before putting it in his pocket. He then used both arms to hug me tightly, gently moving his head into his neck. I'm not sure how long we were there for before the door opened again and a few seconds later I was transferred into new arms.
"I'm sorry Hyung," I whimpered.
"Oh baby, it's not your fault," Seonghwa said softly, running his fingers through my hair.
"I should have sto-."
"San, stop. Wooyoung Hyung was going back to make sure I was ok. There was no way you could have stopped him and you going as well would have only made it worse," Jongho said, cutting me off. I sniffled and turned my head, looking and seeing the other four huddled around. I sniffled and snuggled closer to Seonghwa.
"Please don't run off like that again San, you really scared us," Yunho said quietly.
"Yeah, even I hobbled around to look for you," Jongho joked lightly. I let out a weak smile, slipping out of Seonghwa's grip. I was nervous, not ready for rejection but needing to be close to my maknae. To my surprise, he opened his arms before I even got to him. I fell into his arms lightly, making sure not to hurt him when he was already injured. He hugged me back gently, patting my back softly and I finally managed to calm down.
"This was a freak accident and it was in no way anyone's fault. So let's just wait and see what happens and just hope that they're both going to be ok," Seonghwa said. The door opened once again and we all turned around to see a doctor walk in. I gasped and grabbed Jongho's hand, the younger linking his fingers with mine quickly.
"I have very good news for you boys," the doctor said with a smile. We all breathed a sigh of relief, relieved to hear that it was good new not bad news. I was thankful that we've been taking more English lessons lately.
"I understand you are Korean so I will do my best to explain," he said.
"Thank you," Mingi said quickly.
"First, both Kim Hongjoong and Jung Wooyoung will be able to make a full recovery," the doctor said. I hugged Jongho tightly, almost crying in relief this time.
"Wooyoung has sprained his ankle and has a very mild concussion. Other than that, it's only minor smoke inhalation that was most likely on minor due to the oxygen tank they used," the doctor said. Mingi snorted at that.
"Hongjoong Hyung is going to be so smug that the oxygen tank was actually useful," he said, making us chuckle lightly.
"Hongjoong has a bit more severe smoke inhalation, but he was very lucky that he didn't get any burns. Both of them are awake right now," the doctor said.
"They're awake," Yeosang asked quickly.
"They are and we've put them in the same room as per your managers request," the doctor replied.
"Room 17 on the left," he added. We all immediately rushed where he pointed, Yeosang helping me with Jongho. We didn't stop at the door, just slammed it open and went inside. I scanned the room quickly, my eyes landing on the two beds beside each other with Hongjoong and Wooyoung, both awake.
"Youngie," I yelled, running over and launching myself at him, hugging him tightly. He let out a slight grunt of pain but his arms immediately wrapped around me tightly.
"Don't you ever do that to me again. If you died, I would've gone into hopeless depression and have been unable to live with myself," I rushed out.
"Bit dramatic don't you think," he asked.
"Not at all. I love you so much. So, so much," I said. I pulled back, kissing one cheek, then the next, then his nose, then his lips, then his cheek on again before hugging him tighter than I ever have before.
"I'm so glad you're ok," I whispered.
"Thanks Sannie, I appreciate the love." I glanced over to see Seonghwa pulling away from hugging Hongjoong who was smiling at me. I slipped off the bed with Wooyoung and rushed over, hugging him as well.
"And you, don't ever be unconscious around me again you little shit. You also scared the shit out of me," I said, kissing his cheek.
"Oi, I'm still your Hyung," Hongjoong chided softly.
"Thank you for going after him," I mumbled into his ear, not wanting the other to hear as I didn't want them to feel guilty for not going after Wooyoung. Hongjoong nodded and pat my back softly.
"He was going to die to protect me, you know. He wrapped me up in a fire blanket and hugged me to keep me safe. If you guys didn't get the fire-fighters up to us, I'm not sure he would still be here," Wooyoung said softly.
"But they did and we're all still here. We're all alive and we're safe," Hongjoong said firmly. I glanced back to Wooyoung to see him curled up with Yeosang, Mingi holding his hand.
"I'm glad you two are ok. No more frights like that again though do you hear me," Seonghwa said sternly.
"No promises there Hyung," Wooyoung said, making us all chuckle. I let out a deep sigh and curled up against Hongjoong's side, hugging him tightly and nuzzling my head to rest in his neck. The numb feeling was gone, replaced with a warm, comforting feeling. They're ok. They're both ok.
"I love you," I whispered to Hongjoong.
"I love you too Sannie," he replied softly.
A/N
Hello everyone, thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this oneshot. It has been quite a while since I've updated I'm pretty sure but here it is.
Let me know your thoughts and your favourite parts of this oneshot :)
This was requested by KillerCookie_101 so I hope you enjoyed it. Also I'm sorry, I only realised after I finished it that you said San and Hongjoong, not Wooyoung an Hongjoong and I also tweaked the plot slightly but I hope you still liked it anyway.
