Business Crush
Seonghwa x San
-!-
Seonghwa was San's first customer when he opened his coffee shop back in the beginning of the Spring months, quickly becoming a regular; always going to San for his usual sugar-filled coffee.
San had quickly made it a habit to personally bring Seonghwa his to-go coffee when he saw the older man's order.
"Working late again tonight?" Seonghwa asked as he took the lidded cup from San and stood.
San, dressed in blue jeans, a button-down shirt that with the top two buttons unbuttoned, and a light brown apron with the coffee shops logo printed on the chest, smiled up at Seonghwa.
"You know me."
Seonghwa gave a quick nod at the barista.
"Don't work to hard."
San smiled, "Don't tell me what to do." he joked, winking, "Enjoy your coffee!"
Seonghwa always felt rejuvenated after visiting the quaint coffee shop that stood about two blocks from his own business.
His employees always laughed when their boss walked through the door with a large smile and a coffee in hand. Seonghwa wasn't subtle about his crush for the young barista to his employees; he'd often make jokes about marrying San.
At least his employee's would say they were jokes. Seonghwa considered it manifestation.
Seonghwa hummed as he clipped at flower stems and carefully arranged a bouquet out of iris, hydrangea, and larkspur flowers surrounded by a mix of dark and light green foliage; unintentionally making a "San inspired" bouquet after the barista had mentioned purple is his favorite color.
"What's this one called? "Mountain's Garden"?" Hongjoong, Seonghwa's close friend and designer of the flower shops logo, popped his head into Seonghwa's workshop where he would make pre- and custom-arranged bouquets.
Seonghwa jumped at his friend's voice breaking the peaceful silence. A blush spread across his face when his brain caught up with Hongjoong's question.
" "Mountain's Garden"?" He questioned.
"You made a bouquet of primarily purple flowers." Hongjoong smirks. "Isn't that your coffee crushes favorite color? And his name means "mountain"." Hongjoong shrugs.
Seonghwa stepped back from his workbench and looked at the bouquet. He did in fact make an all purple bouquet. His hands had been working on autopilot as soon as he picked up the shears.
"I hadn't noticed." He commented to himself, but loud enough for Hongjoong to tease his friend some more.
Seonghwa continued to stare at the flower arrangement for a few minutes after Hongjoong left to man the front of the shop.
Sure the barista had been on his mind for awhile, but to absent-mindedly create a bouquet inspired by him?
His hands hit his sides with a light smack.

San and Wooyoung, the employee in charge of baking the pastries for San's shop, walked down the main shopping street of their town before heading in to work for the day.
Wooyoung rambled on about his struggles with perfecting a scone recipe while San stared at his feet, his mind wandering.
"Sannie!" San stopped walking and straightened his posture. His friends voice was distant; seeing why when he turned around and saw Wooyoung standing in front of a display window.
The younger pointed to the window with a big smile.
Walking over to see what Wooyoung was pointing at and smiling about.
"Isn't this where your cute florist guy works? This is his latest work!"
San looked over to the door and saw Seonghwa's flower shop logo and name printed on the glass, the businesses hours and days' open underneath it.
"It is." San mumbled, turning his head back to Seonghwa's "latest work", a light blush spreading across his face when he sees the purple flower bundle.
"I'm crossing my fingers you're interested in that one."
Both Wooyoung and San jumped and turned to the source of the voice speaking to them.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you two."
A slightly smaller than them male smiled at them, his hands in his pockets. His hair was half black half blonde that was mostly covered by the hood of his jacket; large, clear framed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose; black baggy jeans flowing over his shoes.
"Sorry," he smiled and pulled his right hand out of his jackets pocket, "I'm Kim Hongjoong. Logo designer and part-time florist for 'Boundless Bouquet', as well as part-time fashion designer - Not to toot my own horn with that last bit."
He shook hands with the both of them, each introducing themselves.
"I noticed you looking at 'Mountain's Garden'. Are you interested in it?"
Hongjoong looked directly at San who took another glance at the flower arrangement. He couldn't deny it was beautiful; the different hues of purple blended perfectly together and the green of the foliage added a calming contrast.
"I could give you a discount if you'd like." Hongjoong pushed, his once extended hand now resting on the door to Boundless Bouquet, "I know Seonghwa would want you to have it."
A blush crept it's way onto San's face at the thought of Seonghwa making a bouquet just for him. Wooyoung playfully nudged San when the barista didn't respond to Hongjoong.
"A-ah, yes!" San shook his head to clear his mind, nodding as he passed by Hongjoong to enter the flower shop.
Wooyoung stayed behind and waved at San through the still open door; telling San he'd meet him at the coffee shop after he was done.
San's fingers lightly tapped at the front counter while Hongjoong went into the display window to retrieve Mountain's Garden. He watched as Hongjoong walked behind the counter and wrap the stem bunch of the bouquet in colored tissue paper and kept it wrapped together with a light yellow bow.
"I can give you 75% off. Is that okay?"
San nodded and pulled out his debit card, inserting the thin plastic into the little slot on the bottom of the pin pad when instructed.
Hongjoong smiled warmly at San as he handed him the flowers.
"Do come again soon."
"Thank you." San bowed politely and left. He walked out of Hongjoong's view before pausing and looking at the bouquet. His chest felt fuzzy and his face grew warm as a large smile stretched his lips thin.
He closed his eyes and leaned closer to the flowers, inhaling for a few seconds and taking in their sweet scent.

The bouquet had been placed in a clear vase on the table Seonghwa usually sat at, the yellow ribbon that once held the bouquet and tissue paper together now wrapped around the vase for added decoration.
A tiny bell that hung over the coffee shops door rang lightly as Seonghwa entered and went over to his regularly used table to put his bag down before he went up to give his order.
Seonghwa jumped when he heard a familiar voice behind him.
"Right on time, Seonghwa!"
He turned to see San holding a glass mug that most likey contained his usual order with a smile.
"San.." Seonghwa smiled back to the barista, the two holding eye contact for a solid minute before San gestured to the table.
"Please, sit."
Seonghwa did as told and sat down, thanking San when the mug of coffee was placed in front of him.
"Thank you for the bouquet. Mountain's Garden." San adjusted the yellow ribbon on the vase. "They're beautiful. I didn't mind the 75% off discount, but I would've gladly payed full price for them."
Seonghwa's eyebrows buried themselves in his hairline at the comment. He set down his coffee's mug a little too harshly as he looked up at San who's eyes now looked back at him.
"He made you pay for them?!" Seonghwa turned a little to reach for his bag and dig through it to pull out his wallet.
"He never should've made you pay! Here." Seonghwa held out the amount San had payed for the bouquet, but San didn't make any move to take the money.
In fact, San looked shy.
His gaze was now focused downward, a finger tracing random small shapes onto the tables surface to give him something to do other than blush like a kid in school who had just given his crush a valentine's day card.
"Pay me back with lunch?" San asked innocently, eyes moving to catch Seonghwa's.
Seonghwa lowered his hand and swallowed nervously, his own shyness now shining through as he licked his suddenly dry lips, and put back his money.
"Lunch next Friday?"
San and Seonghwa smiled at eachother as San nodded with an airy chuckle.
"It's a date."
