request for haysmit :)

"Yes, yes. I know," You sighed. "Mom, I know when my little sister's birthday is."

"Well, you seem like you don't care anymore! You're always teaching dances to famous people!"

"It's my job, Mom. It makes me happy. Plus, I always think of Jikyung. Always."

"Yeah, okay," She scoffed. "You probably don't even know how old she's turning-"

"She's turning seven."

Your mother sighed on the other end. "Make her seventh birthday one to remember, y/n."

She hung up and you sighed, putting your phone in your pocket. You walked into KQ Entertainment, showing the security guards your ID, and they immediately let you through. So, you made your way up to Ateez's practice room, knocking on the door.

A boy with blonde hair opened the door, and you smiled kindly at him. "Hi, I'm y/n, your choreographer."

He smiled and let you through the door. "Welcome to Ateez's practice room. It's where all the cool kids hang out!"

You chuckled and put your bag down, bowing at the seven other boys in front of you. They did the same and did their introduction, welcoming you kindly.

"Before we start," Wooyoung said. "Can you tell us everyone you've choreographed for?"

You smiled and shifted your weight. "I've choreographed for Monsta X, Exo, Hyuna, NCT, Loona, Bvndit, Ab6ix, Stray Kids, Got7, and so on."

Mingi's jaw dropped. "Wow, I bet that's so cool."

"I'm very grateful that I got the chance to work with them." You replied humbly.

The nine of you talked about it for a bit longer, until you all got back on track. "Would you like to show us the dance first?" Hongjoong asked.

You nodded and hooked your phone up to their speakers, turning on 'Hala Hala'. (a/n: let's say this is the song you're choreographing for them)

After showing them the choreography, they cheered excitedly. You could tell they were super excited to learn the dance, and you were glad they were so pumped for it.

"I'll teach you guys the intro and verse one today. I won't do too much, because I don't wanna overwork you guys."

"Perfect." Hongjoong smiled.

After telling them their starting positions, you began teaching them the choreography. After getting it all down, they got towels and water, and you sat on the floor with them.

"Are you guys excited for your comeback?" You asked.

"We're so excited! We can't wait to show Atiny our performances." Seonghwa replied.

"I really like the songs on the albums." Mingi spoke up.

Yunho smiled. "I think it'll be a great success all together."

You nodded in agreement, and you were about to ask another question, but your phone started ringing.

You sighed, already knowing who it was. "Excuse me."

You got your phone out of your bag and answered your phone tiredly. "Are you still working?!" Your mother questioned.

"Yes. I'm still working."

"Get back to your apartment! Right now!"

You stood up and quickly walked out of the practice room. "I'll get back to my apartment when I get back to my apartment. I don't need to be monitored anymore, Mom. I'm a very capable adult."

"I don't care! Your sister is worried sick about you, and she wants to know that you're home."

"Then put her on the phone, and I'll talk to her myself."

You heard some rustling on the other end, and then a happy giggle that immediately lightened your mood. "Hi, y/n."

"Hi, Jikyung. How was your day?"

"It was really good. I miss you, though."

You smiled sadly. "I know, I miss you too," You paused. "Did you tell Mom that you wanted to know that I was home?"

"No? Why?"

You sighed. "I didn't think so."

Your mother was always making up excuses to yell at you, even if that meant using your little sister as an excuse. You said goodbye and I love you to Jikyung, then you hung up. You went back into the practice room, smiling at the boys as you grabbed your things.

"Sorry about that. My Mom loves calling me when I'm at work." You sighed.

"Oh, you're fine," Mingi said. "You're probably tired, so you should go get some rest. Get home safe."

You smiled. "Thank you, and same for you guys."

The very last day you had with Ateez was also Jikyung's birthday. You had asked the boys if you could bring her along to practice, because she really wanted to meet them, and they happily said yes.

"I'm so excited!"

Jikyung bounced in her seat, making you chuckle. "I would be excited if I were you too. They're super nice, and they're super fun to be around."

Your statement made her even more giddy, and soon, you were walking into KQ. You got through and made your way up to their practice room, but Jikyung stopped you.

"Before we go in, who's your bias?" She whispered.

You blushed a bit and laughed. "I'm not telling you."

"But it's my birthday!"

"Fine, fine," You laughed. "I may or may not have a little thing for Mingi."

She gasped and shook you excitedly. You laughed and gently pushed her in front of you, walking into their practice room. As soon as you walked in, the boys cheered and introduced themselves. Jikyung watched in pure happiness and you smiled happily.

They all gave her hugs and said happy birthday, then she rushed back to your side. "She looks just like you, y/n." Jongho said.

"Ah, I know," You smiled. "Jikyung, do you wanna see the boys do their dance?"

She nodded, and the boys immediately got ready. They ran through the dance for her, giving it their all, and you could tell she was loving it. Once they finished, they sat on the ground with you and Jikyung, Mingi right next to you.

He leaned his head on your shoulder, and you tried to calm his breathing down by rubbing his back. Jikyung might've only been seven, but she was one of the smartest seven year olds you'd ever met. She knew immediately that Mingi liked you, just by the way she caught him looking at you, the way he smiled when you spoke, and the gesture he had made seconds before.

She smiled mischievously and scooted forward. "Y/n, can you get my jacket out of the car please?"

"You brought your jacket?" You asked.

Jikyung nodded. "I think so."

You patted Mingi's back and slowly stood up. "I'll go check."

She smiled in response and watched you walk out of the room. When the door closed, she leaned forward.

"Mingi, do you like y/n?"

Mingi's cheeks went pink and he cleared his throat shyly. "What makes you ask?"

Jikyung raised an eyebrow. "I'm turning seven, not going blind."

The boys laughed at your little sisters statement, before Mingi smiled. "You're right, but... yeah. I do like y/n, she's really great."

Jikyung smiled happily and slapped her hand against the floor. "Yeosang, can you ask me what I want for my birthday?"

Yeosang chuckled and tilted his head. "What would you like for your birthday, Jikyung?"

Jikyung tilted her head, as if she was daydreaming. "I would like for Mingi and y/n to be a happy couple. Thank you for asking, Yeosang."

The boys smiled and Jikyung looked at Mingi. "Okay, okay. I'll tell y/n."

Jikyung hopped off the floor and ran to the other side of the room. "Let's go downstairs, we can give Mingi and y/n some alone time."

The boys looked at Mingi and stood up, running off excitedly. Moments later, you walked back in, only to stop in your tracks.

"Where did everyone go?" You asked.

Mingi stood up and walked over to you. "They went downstairs."

You nodded in understanding and watched as Mingi kept walking closer to you. "Are you okay, Mingi?"

He smiled and stopped right in front of you. "I'm great. I just wanted to tell you something."

You smiled. "You can tell me anything."

He licked his lips and broke eye contact as he got shy. "I know we've only known each other for a week, but I really like you. You're just so talented, and sweet, and not to mention so beautifu," He looked back up. "And I just wanted to let you know that."

You smiled and shifted your weight. "I really like you too, Mingi."

He laughed in relief and cupped your face, bringing you into a quick, but sweet kiss. After he pulled away, he wrapped his arms around your waist.

Not even a second later, did eight people burst into the room in a fit of giggles. Jikyung ran over and hugged your legs.

"Best birthday ever!" She exclaimed.

"Wait, what?" You laughed.

"I told Mingi that he should confess to you!"

You looked at Mingi and chuckled. "Oh, really?"

Mingi nodded, a happy grin on his face. "She did, and I'm really glad that she did."
