"Sannie, it looks so pretty," Wooyoung exclaimed in joy, as he watched his boyfriend set up the Christmas tree part by part, and after a while, it was completed, the tall symbol of the Yule Tide reigning a major portion at one corner of the room.
"It'll look prettier after all the decorations have been put up," replied San, as he knelt down upon the floor and dragged a big box towards himself. Wooyoung joined him, and together, they pulled out several of the adornments and settled them upon the floor.
"Hand me the decorations and I'll put them up, okay?" Wooyoung nodded in response, indicating an affirmation. With a soft kiss upon his cheek, San stood up and immediately, Wooyoung handed him a bell, a golden one with several intricate patterns carved upon it.
San placed it upon a branch, and turned to Wooyoung for another one. This time, it was a ball, a big red sphere with a few designs here and there. San decided to put it up on the branch adjacent to the previous one.
And like that, all the symbols and other bits and parts of decorations were put up, until a star was left. San perched it on the top of the tree, the glitters dusted upon its surface now shimmering under the lights. Presently, with all the ornaments occupying the spaces, the tree looked beautiful indeed. A picturesque view.
"And now, let's switch the lights on," the cheer in Wooyoung's voice was clearly evident, as he reached for the switch and pressed it on. Instantly, the tree glowed in the golden lights that were wrapped around it, the green branches and all the adornments shining under the lights. The couple smiled, feeling highly contented, the glimmer now falling upon their radiant faces.
"Christmas wouldn't be the same without you Sannie," Wooyoung spoke in a small voice, his fingers now fidgeting with the hem of his sweater, The subtle hint of sadness lingering within his voice was clearly evident, "I'm so glad that you're back."
San smiled, bringing his hands up and cupping his lover's face. He looked into his eyes, now glistening in tears, and placed a small kiss on the tip of his nose.
"But the bad days are over, aren't they?" he softly replied in reassurance, "Now, it's time to enjoy and live the moment. No more thinking of the past, hm?"
Wooyoung nodded, quickly wiping his tears away with the sleeves of his sweater and returning San a smile.
And as the snow fell outdoors in a soundless manner, they stood under the tree in a sweet embrace, watching its glow bring forth new rays of hope into their lives through the upcoming merriment of a Christmas cheer.
