🎄 - EIGHT

A soft knock grabbed Jongho's attention, as he looked away from the laptop screen to face the door. He watched it open, his husband entering the room with a soft smile adorning his face and two mugs of hot chocolate in his each of his hands. Jongho smiled back at him.

Yeosang carefully placed the mug upon his table and was about to walk away when he heard the other call his name. He turned around.

"But- your meeting-" the hesitation in Yeosang's voice was immediately subdued with Jongho's merry laughter.

"It's over," he replied, "Fifteen minutes ago."

Yeosang smiled, immediately dragging a chair and sitting close to his husband, the mug now cradled upon his lap under the grasp of both his hands. He looked at Jongho, the latter now holding the mug and taking a sip from it, instantly closing his eyes and muttering several words of appreciation. Yeosang couldn't help but giggle.

"For every mug of hot chocolate that you make, another year is added to my life," mumbled Jongho, with his eyes still closed and a smile dancing upon his lips.

Yeosang laughed, "That was quite an exaggeration, Jjongi."

"It wasn't," Jongho snapped back playfully, "It's amazing." He took another sip.

Soon, the two became invested in idle talk, giggling and laughing while enjoying the warm drink. It was close to ten in the morning by the clock and Jongho had quite an amount of his leisure to devote to his beloved husband. They chatted away like teenagers, carefree and without keeping any track of time. They gossiped about the present and the past, of good times and of the bad ones, cherishing every memory that they had lived before and remembering every obstacle that they had overcome.

"Times were difficult back then," Jongho's voice was low, "But you never left my side. You were there for me, through thick and thin and honestly, I'll forever be grateful to you for everything you did."

Yeosang smiled, "I loved you Jjongi and I still do. Leaving you, especially during your tough times was not a thought that ever dared to cross my mind. Just the way I cherish you during our good times, I'll never fail to be your prime pillar of support during your bad times," he extended his hand to hold his husband's, their left hands that bore their wedding rings now intertwined into a strong grasp, "I'll always be there for you Jjongi, and you never have to thank me for that."

Jongho's smile was wide. He quickly leaned forward to kiss Yeosang on his lips, a sweet smooch mingled with smiles and giggles. They resumed their talks until the clock ticked to one. Jongho was already done with most of his work and therefore, he was quite eager to help Yeosang with the lunch.

"I'll do it babe," Yeosang quickly assured him, "Your work-"

"Sshhh," Jongho placed his index finger upon the other's lips, smirking, "I'm helping you and that's final. My work can wait."

Yeosang pouted, but knowing how stubborn his husband was, he didn't say anything further. He took both their empty mugs in his hands and proceeded downstairs, the other joining him soon.
