proud and gay

Wooyoung clinging to Yeosang for stability, walking around the party San had been preparing for the whole week. They finally found the group of friends and sat down, Wooyoung slumping next to Yeosang, who sat next to Yunho.

"Hey! You're here, ah! Your turn, truth or dare," San beamed, pointing at Wooyoung.

"Uhhh, dare,"

"Good! Make out with the person next to you," San said, grinning mischievous. "Or do you have a girlfriend that we don't know?"

"No! No, just..." Wooyoung stammered, looking at Yeosang for help. If they kissed, it usually turned into a whole make-out session, and their clothes got off real quick. He didn't want to risk that, especially not in front of their friends.

"Are you afraid of being gay? Kissing a friend for a second is not gay, so," Hongjoong teased, wriggling his eyebrows in amusement.

"Let it go, I don't want to traumatize your eyes,"

"Wait, I'll be back in a sec," Hongjoong said quickly as he left Seonghwa at the entrance. Party was finished, and only their group was left, Wooyoung top drunk to walk and hanging off of Yeosang.

"Hey, I know Wooyoung probably won't remember this, but I'm really happy for you two. I'm actually dating with Seonghwa for a while now, so I understand you two," Hongjoong said, keeping his tone quiet to not disturb Wooyoung.

"Guys! Let's stay together, all eight. Since it's my house," Jongho suggested, holding Wooyoung's waist to help him sit on the couch as they formed a circle.

"Want water shots?" He asked, sitting up again.

"I'm proud and... gay," Wooyoung slurred out, his eyes drifting between the familiar faces around him. He was definitely feeling the effects of the drinks, and the laughter that twinkled in the air only fueled his reckless spirit.

"Who knew our little Wooyoung would be so brave?" Yunho chuckled, leaning back against the couch, his arm casually draped across Yeosang’s shoulders.

Thoroughly amused by Wooyoung's tipsy bravado, San chimed in, "Well, if you’re proud and gay, you should show it! How about another round of truth or dare? Or maybe for you, just dare!”

“I’m definitely down for a dare! As long as it's not another make-out session,” Wooyoung winked at Yeosang, his playful grin causing butterflies in Yeosang’s stomach.

“You’re getting bold, aren’t you?” Yeosang teased back, nudging Wooyoung’s side gently. “Just remember who’s going to have to take care of your sorry self when you can’t walk out of here.”

“Yeah, yeah, but who else would you rather take care of?” Wooyoung said, propping himself on one elbow to look at Yeosang. “Come on, Sangie! Let them be jealous of our love.”

“Oh Lord, why am I friends with you?” Yeosang sighed, though his tone was light-hearted, a small smile gracing his lips.

“Because we’re the best duo since peanut butter and jelly!” Wooyoung exclaimed, throwing his arms out in a dramatic fashion. The group erupted into laughter while the atmosphere remained cozy and carefree.

“So, back to the game," Jongho prompted, steering the conversation back on course. “Wooyoung, truth or dare?”

“Dare,” Wooyoung replied with a flair, unwavering in his confidence despite the subtle sway in his posture.

"I dare you to tell Yeosang how you truly feel about him," San said with a devilish glint in his eyes.

"Whaaat?" Wooyoung's eyes widened in faux shock. “San, that’s too... simple! You think I need a dare to do that?”

“Then prove it, Wooyoung! Let us hear your grand confession!” Hongjoong added, leaning in with anticipation.

Wooyoung looked at Yeosang, a mischievous glint in his eye but underneath, a nervous flutter in his chest. The air felt thick with tension as he took a deep breath, feeling both courage and fear wash over him.

“You know what, Sang?” Wooyoung began, his voice softer now, the playful façade for a moment slipping away. “You’re the first person I think about in the morning and the last person I think about at night. I love how you always know how to make me laugh when I feel down. Honestly… you’re everything I never knew I needed. And I’d gladly kiss you right now, but, like, maybe after I’m sober?”

A soft gasp echoed around the group, and the laughter turned into a hushed awe. Yeosang's cheeks turned a bright pink, and he looked at Wooyoung with wide eyes, trying to process what he had just heard.

“Wow, I—uh… Wooyoung, I…” Yeosang fumbled with his words, his heart racing.

“Don’t worry, it’ll be my turn to make things weird for you next time,” Wooyoung smirked, clearly proud of breaking the tension, his bravado returning.

San, never one to miss an opportunity, clapped his hands. "Alright, you’re still a little tipsy, so we’ll save the making out for later. Let's just celebrate this tragic moment of sincerity!"

"But seriously, how cute was that?" Yunho added, shaking his head in amusement.

As the laughter resumed, Wooyoung leaned into Yeosang’s side, grinning from ear to ear. This night was turning out to be more memorable than he had anticipated, and while the night was still young and wild, he felt a sense of warmth and stability being next to someone he truly cared for.
