hog the blanket

Everything felt hot, suffocating, causing Yeosang to whine and try to get away from the arms around his waist but the person behind him held tighter to Yeosang, rubbing his tummy under his shirt.

Yeosang relaxed at the coldness of the hand but still felt too hot, so he pressed his back closer to the person's chest. Realizing soon that it was his bestfriend, Wooyoung, holding him.

"Woo... 's too hot..." Yeosang muttered, trying to tilt his head back to get a glimpse of his friend’s face. Wooyoung chuckled softly, the sound reverberating against Yeosang's back, sending a shiver down his spine.

“Just a little longer,” Wooyoung replied, his breath warm against Yeosang’s ear. “We’re in this blanket fortress until we finish our show, remember?”

Yeosang groaned, knowing he was trapped in their makeshift blanket fort on the couch. The stifling heat from the multiple layers was making him feel a bit dizzy. Still, he couldn't deny that being so close to Wooyoung felt oddly comforting, even in his discomfort.

“Why do you always have to hog the blankets?” Yeosang grumbled playfully, trying to wriggle free.

“Because I’m the one who made the fort!” Wooyoung retorted, squeezing Yeosang tighter as if to assert his dominance in their cozy little hideaway.

With a resigned sigh, Yeosang settled back against Wooyoung, the coolness of the room creeping in through the gaps in their fort reminding him that he wasn’t quite as trapped as he thought. “Fine, but if I faint from heat exhaustion, it’s on you!”

“Deal!” Wooyoung laughed, the sound making Yeosang smile despite the heat.

As the credits of their favorite show rolled on the screen, Yeosang found himself drifting between the intensity of the moment and the peaceful warmth of their friendship. Maybe it was too hot, but there was something undeniably lovely about being nestled so close to someone who understood him so well.

“Do you think it’ll rain later?” Yeosang asked absentmindedly, staring at the flickering television and seeking a distraction.

“Probably,” Wooyoung replied, tucking his chin over Yeosang’s shoulder. “We can have a rainy movie day tomorrow.”

“That sounds perfect,” Yeosang murmured, feeling sleep begin to tug at his eyelids despite the warmth. He let himself relax further into Wooyoung’s embrace, realizing that sometimes, warmth wasn’t just about the temperature. It was also about the person you were with.
