drunk

Yeosang felt a connection between him and Yunho the moment they met, telling their names and age, which class they're in, and who's other dorm mate. It was a boarding school, and Yeosang really hated it. And to his luck, Yunho turned out to be his roommate, and they decorated their room the first week, spending a lot of time together.

It wasn't until Yunho dared to kiss Yeosang that they became more engaged, cuddling and hugging constantly. I mean, whenever they met outside of their room, it was a hug. They both didn't like pda.

Yunho found Yeosang curled up in his bed that night, playing with his hair and a thoughtful expression on his face.

"You ok?" Yunho asked softly, leaning against the doorframe with a hint of concern in his voice. The dim light of their room cast a warm glow around them, making the atmosphere feel safe and intimate.

Yeosang looked up, a slight smile breaking through his pensive expression. "Just thinking," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah... just thinking, nothing to worry about,"

"Ok," Yunho nodded but didn't take his eyes off his boyfriend. He knew Yeosang often got sad for no particular reason.

"Can you give me the water? It's on my desk," Yeosang asked softly, sitting up as Yunho held the bottle to him. Room warmer bow that the door was closed. Yeosang took a long sip from the 'water', ignoring Yunho's stare. It was vodka. He just put it in a water bottle.

"Can I drink some? I'm so thirsty," Yunho asked then, taking the bottle from Yeosang's hand and taking a sip. Alcohol burning his throat. Yeosang frowned at the way Yunho frowned.

"Yunho, you shouldn’t have that," Yeosang said, his tone a mix of concern and annoyance. He reached for the bottle, but Yunho pulled it away, taking another sip.

"What? It's just a little," Yunho replied, shrugging it off with a playful grin. But Yeosang could see the flush creeping onto Yunho's cheeks, a sign that he wasn't quite accustomed to drinking.

"Seriously, Yunho. You don’t know how much you can handle," Yeosang said, worry flooding his voice. He could feel a knot forming in his stomach, partly because he knew how easily alcohol could lead to reckless decisions and partly because he didn’t want anyone to see Yunho vulnerable in any way, especially himself.

"Relax, Sang. I can handle it," Yunho insisted, his confidence slightly wavering as he ran a hand through his hair, trying to regain his composure. He attempted to laugh it off again, but the sound ended in a cough as the alcohol hit him harder than he expected.

Yeosang bit his lip, torn between wanting to scold Yunho for his recklessness and wanting to comfort him, to be the one to make things better. "I just... I don’t want you to get hurt," he said, softer this time, his voice laced with sincerity.

Yunho's demeanor softened, and he peeked over the rim of the bottle. "You’re always looking out for me. It’s sweet," he responded, his smile more genuine now. "But I can take care of myself. And besides," he added, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "I also want to be your partner in crime."

Yeosang rolled his eyes playfully but couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at his lips. "You’re far from a criminal," he teased. "More like a dork who doesn’t know his limits."

Yunho chuckled, that familiar warmth spreading between them. “Maybe I just want to have some fun, Sang. It’s not all bad, is it?” His eyes sparkled with anticipation, drawing Yeosang in even more.

Yeosang sighed, knowing that fighting against the idea would be futile. "Just promise me you won’t do anything stupid, okay? If we’re going to break the rules, let’s at least be smart about it."

"Promise," Yunho said earnestly, sealing it with a nod. Then he took another sip, holding the bottle out to Yeosang. "Want to share this crime with me?"

Yeosang hesitated, glancing at the vodka with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. He had never been much of a drinker, but maybe this was a moment worth seizing. After all, they were in this together, weren’t they?

He took the bottle, brought it to his lips, and took a small sip. The burn was unexpected, but it also felt exhilarating. He coughed lightly and shot Yunho an incredulous look, who laughed heartily at his reaction.

“You’re cute when you’re flustered,” Yunho said, his eyes lighting up with mischief.

With a newfound sense of bravery, Yeosang rolled his eyes but smiled, feeling the weight of their worries lift, if only for a moment. After a few sips, they found a rhythm in their laughter and conversation, forgetting about the world outside their dorm room, focused only on each other.

As the night wore on, the alcohol soon made their heads feel light, and with each shared look and gentle touch, though Yeosang was still worried.

Yeosang adjusted Yunho's weight against him, the older boy leaning heavily on his shoulder while they sat on the edge of their bed. The room was filled with a warm, hazy atmosphere, punctuated by Yunho's soft giggles and his tendency to nuzzle closer. Yeosang couldn't help but smile at the sight of him—his hair tousled, cheeks flushed a healthy red, and the unmistakable sparkle of happiness in his eyes.

“Why do you look so proud?” Yunho mumbled, his voice slightly slurred as he looked up at Yeosang, completely oblivious to his own state. “You look like you just won an award or something.”

“Maybe I did,” Yeosang replied playfully, running his fingers through Yunho's hair. “I just successfully managed to keep you from embarrassing yourself in front of our dorm mates. That counts for something.”

“Aw, you’re the best,” Yunho said, his voice rife with endearment. He leaned heavily against Yeosang and wrapped an arm around his waist, snuggling in closer for warmth. “I don’t know what I’d do without you. Probably end up in a tree or something.”

Yeosang chuckled, though a part of him felt a twinge of concern. He could feel Yunho’s breath against his neck, warm and slightly sweet from the vodka, and it struck him how vulnerable his boyfriend was in this moment. “Let’s try to keep you out of trees for now,” Yeosang teased, trying to lighten the mood.

“Okay, okay,” Yunho replied, a giddy smile plastered across his face. “But you have to promise we can do this again! It’s fun. You should drink more often!”

“I don’t know about that,” Yeosang said, shaking his head. “I’d rather be the designated caretaker.”

“Designated...what? You mean like a driver?” Yunho asked, a bubble of laughter escaping him. “But we aren’t going anywhere! We’re just here…together.” He let out a dreamy sigh, eyes fluttering shut for a moment.

“Yes, together,” Yeosang agreed, his heart swelling at the thought of them sharing this moment. He tightened his grip around Yunho, feeling protective of him in this state. “Just stay with me, okay? It’s nice like this. Just us.”

Yunho’s eyes opened slowly, revealing a soft, sleepy gaze. “You always know how to make things nice,” he murmured, leaning in for a gentle kiss that made Yeosang’s heart race. It was tender, sweet, and filled with the innocent affection that made every moment together feel like magic.

After breaking the kiss, Yunho’s expression shifted to one of sudden seriousness, though his features were still slightly dazed. “Sang, I’m really glad you’re here,” he said, sincerity radiating from his words. “I don’t know what I would do if I had to go through this all alone.”

Yeosang felt a wave of warmth spread through him. “You’re not alone, Yunho. You’ll never be alone. I’m always here for you.”

A smile crept back on Yunho’s face as he nodded slowly, his eyelids heavy. “Yeah… always,” he echoed, his voice trailing off as sleepiness overtook him.

As Yunho gradually leaned against him, Yeosang felt his heart swell even more. He gently maneuvered Yunho to lie back on the bed, making sure he was comfortable before settling beside him, legs entwined. The room was silent now except for the soft sound of Yunho’s breathing, and Yeosang took a moment to relish the peacefulness of their surroundings.

“Goodnight, Yunho,” Yeosang whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

“Goodnight, Sang,” Yunho mumbled back, a content smile still lingering on his lips as he drifted off to sleep.

Yeosang closed his eyes as well, letting the rhythmic sound of Yunho’s breathing lull him into a sense of calm. It had been a chaotic night, but he wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. Here, in their little dorm room, filled with laughter and warmth, they had forged a bond that was unbreakable. Together, they could face anything life threw at them.
