Coins
I playfully toss one larger coin from hand to hand, I don't know what the inscription upon it is nor do I know the value of it. All I know is that it can buy two strong drinks. Their names, long and complicated.
Since I am a toy that sweet mother bestowed upon to a pimpish honeysuckler, an education wasn't something that I was granted. I know the different colours and inscriptions of coins or currency can buy different things. But I can't read or count the numbers. I can't pronounce the long and complicated names of some planets even if I hear it a hundred times. But I know how to slip a man a drugged drink, I know the different commands on a standard Resistance jet, I know how to swipe a man's wallet without them sensing a thing, I know the difference between Resistance and First order fighting styles and troops. I just don't know the things that count in terms of ranks.
That's what gets to the big positions rather sitting as cannon fodder like me. An education, sure, I could pay the money to sit through taunting hours of school and boring gore or I could occasionally risk my neck playing with men the same way they once played with me, and make a profit too!
"Where is she?" I heard end Vanee's angry cry, seems like he'd woken up out of his drugged stupor and was looking for revenge. "Where is the lying whore?"
I was sitting at a bar, across it, Vanee had entered the main door and was swinging around wildly, bloodthirsty. I kept sipping my brew innocently, my other arm sticking to the dirty counter where previous drinks had spilled. My figure was cloaked and a thick hood covered my head into security.
Vanee or Vee was somewhat attractive, he had a lean-shaped muscular figure that came with the majority of the Resistance pilots. Currently he was wearing a black, v-necked shirt with his jacket over the top. His blonde curls were cropped at the base of his neck but were still ruffled with distress. Only an hour ago, I'd been holding those curls clenched in my hands.
I chuckled to myself, we had had a good time. But like all things, it had to come to an end.
I looked up to the bartender who locked eyes with me, he nodded his head slightly towards the back door. A clear indication for me to use the back door. I grinned my thanks before slipping out.
"Stop, princess," A hand shoved in front of me and if it weren't for my amazing skills, I would've fallen to the ground in a heap. I looked to the guy who'd stopped me, luckily it wasn't Vanee or one of his goons but a brown-haired guy with a round shaped face and blue-tinted skin.
"Yes?" I slitted my eyes seductively and laid a hand on my hip, shrugging away the cape so that my scantly-dressed body was on display. It was a short skirt and a cropped wraparound shirt that lifted my breasts to display.
The man pulled a large pocket of coins from his belt and I eyed them off carefully. "I'll give you this, if you stay with me for the night."
"Well." I say playfully, twirling a strand of hair between my fingers. "You didn't have to be so bitter about it."
I followed him to his ship, a rust-coloured paint and quite large, but sufficient for space travel. I looked back to the bar and laughed as I could still hear Vanee's angry cries.
