Ebuka POV

It was weekend and even though my friends begged me to come over I declined, they wanted to strategize and agree on how to report the case to the principal. I declined not because I didn't want to be a part of the process but because I wanted to see Tomiwa. Yes she was still in a coma but I wanted her to know that I had good news to share to her.

"I'm sorry guys. You go on without me. I need to see Tomiwa."  I texted them on the personal group chat we created for all 5 of us. And once I saw they all read the message, I went offline and headed out dressed in a checkered blue long sleeve shirt, plain trousers and grey kicks to go with it. I grabbed my Fanny packs which housed my phone and wallet and with my head phone on I headed out of the house without bothering to eat breakfast.

I got to the hospital by noon exactly and I greeted the receptionist who just nodded at me before asking.

"Yes? How may I help you? Who are you here to see?"

"Tomiwa Adeshika."

She just nodded at me and told me to take my seat. It wasn't up to two minutes before I started feeling uncomfortable. I was feeling unease like something bad was going to happen so I stood up and asked again. She simply sighed, directing me to ward 113 which was on the second floor.

"Wait. That wasn't the room she was in the last time I came."

"Yeah they moved her to another room. Now are you going to get out of my face or not?" She asked rudely and I just ignored her and left for Tomiwa's ward.

I got there and I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach. What happened to her? It's like she went from bad to worse in a week. She was on two drips. One on her left and the other on her right. Her face was even paler than before if there is anything like that. What's worse, she was skinny, way to skinny for comfort, and I didn't like the sight I was seeing one bit.

It's a good thing that I came alone to visit Tomiwa. I don't know how the others will handle the sight of this. I quickly wiped the tears that was threatening to fall before stepping close to her bed. I was there to give her the good news. The good news that I was able to  clear  her name and she could join us to write Neco and also sit for the Waec exams she missed while in coma.

"Hey Tomiwa, I am sure you must be relieved. I actually fixed it. I cleared your name and now you can write the remaining exams without worrying." I said to assure her but I got no response. All I got was the beeping of the monitor that was monitoring her heart beat.

In that moment that I sat on the chair watching her with teary eyes I knew my heart couldn't take. I had to do what I don't normally do, I said a word of prayer to whoever was up there and cared to listen.

"It's going to be okay Tomiwa. You are going to get through this because you are stronger than you look." I said out loud to Tomiwa, even though I was saying it more to myself. I knew I had to keep it together. Yes I couldn't stand it, yes I hated the sight but I knew I had to keep it together somehow. As my eyes stared  at her lovingly, my hands caressed her the pale skin on her hands that wasn't covered.

"Please come back to me Tomiwa. I need you, we need you.  We are really sorry we pushed you away, for not paying attention... Please Tomiwa wake up." I said finally breaking into tears as I held unto her hands. It felt so cold and fragile against mine, I felt as if I held on too much it could possibly snap into two.   I needed to stop crying but the tears kept flowing and they just won't stop.

"Please... Wake up Tomiwa."

I whispered once again hoping it would help but she didn't flick, not even batting an eye lid. She was as rigid as a stone and it only broke my heart further. I stood up and walked towards the door to stretch my legs. I noticed my shoe laces was untied so I bent down to fix it, while I was at it, I noticed a movement and for a minute I was excited that Tomiwa was awake. I stoped in my track when I saw with my own eyes the shadows of a man.

I quickly I brought out my phone to make a video recorder as I hid and watch what he was doing. He took slow maniacal steps towards Tomiwa's bed and it only gave me goosebumps, and oh not the good kind.

"Well well well. I see they transferred you to a new room. Poor thing must be hard." He said, sarcasm dripping off his voice.

Who is this man? I thought to myself. Fom there I saw how he was using the tip of his finger to draw leasure cycles on Tomiwa's hands. I didn't think like it one bit and all I want to do was pounce on him. I couldn't do that because I need to get what he was doing to Tomiwa on video if not I would have no evidence. If only I knew his name, if only, by the time I looked at him again, he was already way too close for comfort.

Tomiwa's breathing mask was tossed aside, his lips were all over her mouth, sucking and kissing her, it was then it dawned on me, whoever he was, he came there to do his sexual torture but unknown to him I was still in my hiding place behind one of the curtains recording everything. In that moment a light bulb lit in my head as it dawned on me, maybe this is what got her at her lowest, this is what she was going through and couldn't tell anyone, could it be?

But I knew there was only one way to find out. After I had made sure I had recorded enough of his criminal act that could put him in prison, I came out of my hiding and coughed making myself known to the stranger. I had already turned off my recorder and my phone was well hiden.

I confronted the guy and of course the guy played it cool like he wasn't doing anything. I could see it in his eyes, he was reading me and I am sure he noticed that I knew something.

"Are you her lover boy? " I asked and he was quiet for a while before he replied in one breath.

"No. Are you? "

"No"

The conversation was pretty awkward and he left in a haste. Immediately, I called the gang so they could meet me up at our  spot.  We had a criminal case to file. And I was going to see to the end of it.

omo idk what to say guys, except pray for tomiwa. The baby girl be going through a lot at a young age.
