Tomiwa Pov

"I told you Ebuka I am fine. No need to ---" I didn't get to finish my sentence because I ended up throwing up what was left in my stomach. Thank goodness there was a sink nearby in the medical center for me to make use of. I have been terribly ill for the past three days now but I have been too stubborn to stay at home.

"That it is! I am taking you home. You can't keep doing this to yourself Tomiwa. You need proper rest to get better."

I groaned in annoyance knowing he was right. What he didn't know is that I have a guardian named Miss Okiki whose soul aim is to frustrate me. If she finds out that I am sick and have been asked to stay home she wouldn't let me hear the last of it. Even though she was back home from her long trip, she was always grumbling and complaining about something I did or didn't do very well. Staying away from school will be hard but I had no choice.

"Fine, maybe you are right. I'll stay off school, even though I will not enjoy it.

He chuckled at my response before he finally ordered for Uber to take me home. I got home few minutes passed noon to meet Miss Okiki on the way out. She looked at me with a scornful look and left me at the door. It's not like I'm expecting anything from her but still it hurts to be at the receiving end of her glares. I made my way to the kitchen since all the food that I have been eating refused to stay in my stomach. I settled for indomie pepper soup with suya       And the minute I finished eating it, I went to sleep while still in my uniform.

Thank goodness I had finished my test before this whole sickness started oo. I've been at home for the past three days sleeping like kpomo that is sinking inside well water. The good news is at least I get to resume school on Monday since I have used all the medications required and all I needed was proper rest.

"Tomiwa!!!! Omo yiiii ni bolowaaa!!! You are still in that room sleeping! Eh your mate are in school reading and preparing for their forth coming exam and you are sleeping. That is why you failed your test olodo rabata."

I sighed. This woman has started this early morning. Let me better stand up now before she concludes that I am pregnant that is why I have been sleeping. When she noticed I wasn't going to say anything to her, she hissed and took her leave. Few minutes later she came back in only to threaten me saying...

"It seems your body has fully recovered. Meet me at Golden Frey in the next 30mins. I want to see you at work today. If you like don't come, you will see what I will do to you." She said and left the room slamming the door so hard I feared she might have cracked it at some point.

What was even my business? If she likes she should break the door, all the best to her, it is kukuma her house not mine. I slumped back on the bed ready to put the sleep in gear three only for my tummy to growl in hunger. Ever since my appetite came back I've been eating like crazy. I just hope there is food at home this one that this woman left me in this house.

I finally got out of bed after doing a little bit of morning devotion. I took my bath using cold water because the weather was on another level of heat. Once I was done dressing up in a tank top and joggers, I headed to the kitchen. Thank God there was some things for me to eat, yam and egg precisely. I didn't even bother stressing about who cooked it, point is there is food for me to eat and it is food I shall eat. Once I was done eating, I tided up the kitchen a bit, swept and washed whatever plate that was pending.

I went back to my room ready to study completely, forgetting that Miss Okiki was expecting me to be at work. I picked up my Basics Technology book to study. I had barely gotten to the third page when sleep took over. What? it's not my fault. What I was reading was kukuma not entering so it only made sense that I took a nap.

Pa!__ Pa!__ Pa!__ Pa!__ Pa!__ Pa!__

That was the sound that I kept hearing. The sound that brought me out of my sweet sleep. Where is the sound even coming from sef because it was really persistent and annoying too. I checked my phone and saw it wasn't ringing. It just showed 3 missed calls from Miss Okiki and the time was few minutes passed twelve.

I yawned loudly standing up. I was trying to locate the song only to find out it's was coming from the window. I slide it open to reveal a smiling Ebuka. What in heavens name is he doing here?

"Hiii Tomiwa."

"Emmanuella? Wait Kelvin ? Oh my gosh it's the whole gang! What? What are you all doing here?" I asked looking at them all. I was so shocked and astonished, I never expected it at all. How did they even find my house? That was the question ringing in my head but before I could ask, Lydia stepped forward to speak.

"May we come in?"

"Urrr yea...oh sorry, I meant no. The house is a mess and l wouldn't want you seeing that. So I'll get dressed and meet you downstairs." I said in a rush so they don't have room to reply or question me. Good thing we were not leaving on the ground floor, we were on the second floor back flat so it wasn't so easy for them to get access without my help. I quickly got dressed in something more presentable, a short skirt, a black crop top with white and black sneakers to go with it. With just little brown powder and my cherry boom lipgloss I was good to go as I headed out of the House with my Nokia phone in my small purse.

"Hi guys. Where to first?" I asked once I was with them down stairs. I still could not believe that the guys, Kelvin, Ebuka and the rest, finally they were here. It was just too bad that I wasn't going to let them in, I just wasn't comfortable with that. On a lighting mood, we all decided to go out but first  Emmanuella said.

"Okay, pause. I get we are all hungry and we all want to eat out and watch a movie but first. We need to help our dearest friend, Tomiwa."

"Huh? What do you mean? What was wrong wth my outfit?"

"Awwwn poor thing. Kelvin drive us to the Salon!"

"Yes ma'am!!!" Kelvin responded with a mocking salute. We all bursted into laugher as Kelvin zoomed off, heading to one of the popular salon on the island. Emmanuella can be dramatic sha, so it was because my hair looked like the nest of wild beast that's why she said she wanted to help. I just shook my head at her and she just shrugged and smiled at me.

We got to the saloon by 12:30pm and immediately they got started. Once we were done making my hair which was knotless brains, we went to Maryland mall to have some fun. 

"So tell me Tomiwa, did you have fun?"

"Maybe, were you the one that came up with the idea of coming to visit?" I asked blushing like a chicken about to get her first kiss. He smiled at me and winked instead. I smiled as well looking away because I couldn't take how my heart was racing in ecstasy in his presence.

Time flew by so fast and I had to start heading home as I remised on the movie we watched at the mall. The movie was titled,  Life in a year. Who ever watches that movie without crying ehn, that person isn't human at all. I got home few minutes passed 6 in the evening, I looked around to be sure Miss Okiki's car wasn't there. Once the environment was clear, i thanked my lucky stars she wasn't around yet. I proceed to open the doors a smile in my face,  just when I was about turning the doorknob to open the door, I heard it loud and clear.

"And where do you think you are coming from young lady? This one you are dressed like your fellow runs girls. Oh I see you are coming from your Dick appointmeant abi?"

What's a dick appointment, is that a club house or some... ooh shit! Now I get it.

"Talk Nah! abi am I lying? Ashawo oshi! Is to be following boy up and down that you know. Nah only  God know whether na belle you carry way you dey sleep dey fall sick up and down. Tchhhewww"

"No ma. It's not like that. I went to get something from the next street..."

"Oh whao! You dressed up this much, just to look like a cheep slut for the people in the next street? Whao why am I not suprised?"

Oh lord somebody, anybody save me. I am not ready for this woman tonight. I thought to myself as I closed  my eyes, it was either luck was on my side, or God indeed heard and answered my prayers of 5 seconds ago. Out of nowhere, my brother showed up looking like aries's  twin brother. I didn't even know what to say when he stood there defending me like I and him had been out all day.

"In conclusion, you have no right to insult my sister, the two us were at the mall all afternoon and if you don't believe me I have two shopping bags of her clothes to prove it."

Dear lawrd! I used to think I was a smooth liar but no. This one is on another level like, bro what the heck. It's the way I stood like a statue while he spoke to Miss Okiki with so much confidence, he didn't even blink for a minute. I kept looking between Miss Okiki and my elder brother patiently anticipating their reaction. When Miss Okiki realized it wasn't worth it she just hissed and pushed me out of the way before entering inside. I was about going inside myself not bothered to say thank you or to acknowledge my brothers presence but he called me back saying...

"Hey kiddo. Tomiwa, we need to talk."
