Tomiwa POV

It was and beautiful day at dowen Academy and I must say, the air is better here. I took in a deep breath and released it slowly a huge smile on my face.  I was the first on the line in the assembly hall as the assembly prefect took us in the hymn of today.

We were singing hymn 101 and since I didn't have an hymn book I hummed along- well that is until Ebuka came to the rescue with his own hymn book. Once that was done the assembly prefect lead us in prayers before the principal came to give us some important announcements.

" good morning student. How are you all fairing."

" fine ma."

I found myself responding along with them. And she continued

" we already know of the big competition coming. A talent show down between our school and our neighboring schools one of which is Forrester Academy. We would all be going head to head in this year's edition of Dowens got Talent hosted right here in our very own school. More information about the competition will be passed on to you via mail . Interested candidate should pls see me during lunch break."

After her speech we were all dismissed and we went to our various classes. It was my second day here and so far I have managed to be the talk of this school.  From brown skin girl, to chocolate sister, only God knows which nick name they will give me next. I chuckled when of the male SS 1 student passed by me and the next thing he said was.

" good morning chocolate sister-- I mean senior. I-- I like your hair."

" I like yours too."

I responded rufflining his hair abit before walking back to Ebuka, who was patiently waiting for me at the entrance of our class. He raised his left brow at me and I just shrugged it off entireing our class. He followed suit and we both took our sit simultaneously at the center of the class. Our chemistry teacher was the first to grace us with his presence. We treated the Atomic naturre in chemistry but not without asking a few questions on the previous topic from the previous class. He asked the next question which was from a passed question, thankfully I had studied it before.

"In an Atom, the nucleus consists of _______ &_______ only?

A)Electrons and Protons
B) Neutrons and Electrons
C) Protons and Electrons
D) Photons and neutrons
E) None of the above"

" the answer is C protons and electrons."

I said raising my hand to speak when everyone else was pretending to be busy. The teacher beamed at me giving me a round of applause because I was the only one that answered all the 5 questions he asked correctly. Shocking I know but hey a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do to survive . And for me it's studying because how else was I support to get out of Miss Okiki's clutches. I am so glad that ever since I started schooling here she hasn't me 200% hard on me. It's was now 197 percent and that was a breathable change.

" whao that answer is correct. You must be the new student, Tomiwa isn't it. You've become the talk of the school in less than 48 hours you've been here. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in our school."

" I hope soo too sir"

" hmph such a smart kid. You all should learn from her"

The teacher said pointing to the rest of the class. I just looked away and busyed myself with my note as the class continued. We kept on talking discussing and interacting until the bell rang to signal the end of the class. The next class we had was Technical Dawing and it was another fun and interactive class, Apparently Ebuka is his favorites student And he has won best in that subject ever since Junior secondary.

" Ahah Ebuka, only you Amara, chioma, now who do we have here."

" sir no this one is different Ooo. she is not like them."

Ebuka said trying to defend me. Before I knew it there were hoots and coos of Awwnnnnn all over the class. What is going on bayii is it still Techinical Drawing we are still learning or what because am not understanding. This one they are using me and Ebuka to play Cupid hearts on fire. I guess this was the way the teacher teachers, throwing on alittle cupid heart to easy the tension the intensives learning might have caused.

" Awwwn Ebuka had found the one who truly completes his soul."

" osehy. I am beginning to beginning to fall in love."

One of the guys at the back sang and before we knew it everyone including the teacher sang along as he bobbing his head to the song. Oh. my.gawd I was beyond embarrassed what is all this bayii. Where is Erica Hanali when I need her the most, gawd damn it! Why the heck was I blushing so hard and what's worse why is my heart beating so fast. The ringing of the bell signaled the end of class and I was grateful my embarrassment had come to an end. The next class was supposed to be in Geography but the teacher wasn't around so the class was a bit roudy

"A little boring don't you think."

" on the contrary, its just right, there is not a dull moment in this school. I meant I just got here and I am already this popular and this loved."

"That's the way you see it?"

He said looking at me in a questioning manner and I just smiled at him. How else was I suppose to see it, this school is dope , we just had a minny concert right now and he is worried about how I saw it.

"Nothing it just... I thought ...hmmmm.... Never mind. I am just glad you are loving it here."

"No it okay, say it I can handle it."

" I, I am so sorry about our basics technology teacher, he does that to me every year I have a new sit partner. I am sorry if you didn't like the way he... You know called. Us a couple."

" oh that, Nah it's all cool, I was digging the attention so no harm done. I should be the one asking you that. You look like a lover boy who will take what happened to heart."

I said to him In a teasing was and he immediately choked on his saliva. Oh boy before I kill somebodies son, I hope I didn't tease to hard. He regained control and clear his throat in an awkward manner. I looked into hid eyes and notice an emotional twrilling in his dark orb.

Before I could detection what emotion it was he blinked rapidly and cleared his throat again looking away from me. The rest of our classmates were oblivious to the emotional turmoil I was causing for their all-time raining champion of Techical Drawing. Even I didn't know the turmoil I was casing him I just thought it was all fun and game, little did I know...

"I've been staring at the edge of the water

Never really knowing why"

I sang, completely bored out of my mind the song was titled how far I would go a theme song from the movie moana. I Kept on singing the song totally bored, because we were still in Georaphy period and since the teacher wasn't around, no other teacher could volunteers to teach the class.

"Every turn I take
Every trail I track
Every path I make
Every road leads back
To the place I know where I cannot go
Where I long to be"

I continued to sing the song before Ebuka shows up. He had excused him self earlier to run a few errands for one of the teachers. He cocked his left eyebrows at me in a questioning way and I said.

"What? You can't tell me you don't know that song"

"Moana. everyone know that thats the theme song."

"Oooh that given me an idea. Let's play a game called do you remember the movie. I sing a song from a movie and you try and remember which movie it's from."

He chuckled abit taking his seat beside me and makes himself comfortable. He turned to look at me and that made heat rise to my cheeks, I looked away awkwardly before he realizes I was blushing due to our closeness. It was just a regular day at school as a technical students and ebuka was keeping me company making me laugh as we kept playing the game called do remember the movie . At the end of the day he was leading but Lydia interup us  again saying.

"Geee  you guys, get a room you two, so I don't alway have to walk in on you two in the moment."

" Lydia!!!"

Ebuka and I called out to her to chided her at the same time. And she just laughed at our expense leaving us to chase after her and as we all headed to the cafeteria for lunch. While I was chasing after Lydia I noticed someone's stare at me, i turned to look at him and noticed he was looking at me intensely. Who is he any way, he was fair in complexion and that was all there was to it.
