Tomiwa POV

I am not a morning person, never was and never will be. But there are some days, exceptions days where I get the Grace to wake up early,  days such as this when I start something remarkable in my life. Yeah today is one of those days where i would finally start going to Dowen academy. I took in a deep breath of fresh air before letting it out slowly.

Yeap it's the start of a new day, new weeks in a brand new school, Dowen academy. With a bright  smile of my face I went to the bathroom to do my business and in less that 10mins I was done. I am just gald I am not on my period, I really didn't want to look like a scarecrow with a broke heart in this new school. Yes I am extra saucy and moody when  I Am on my period. I don't give me that look, I didn't create myself so do blame me.

" wow! Who are you and what have you done to my sister?"

My brother Temidayo said the minute he entered the room we share. His eyes were wide opened and so where his mouth and I had to fight the urge to help him close his mouth like they do in Tom and Jerry. I  just gave him a sweet smile instead and said to him while  dramatically giving a little bow

"Good morning to you as well brother Temi. Hope you had a wonderful night rest."

He chuckle in response and shook his head. he gave me a genuine smile and I smiled back. I left the room too let him be so he could get changed. Heading to the kitchen I passed by the vanity mirror that was at the hallway and I couldn't help it. I had to stop and start at my reflection just for a little while. And damn God dey creat ooo, it's like As if they made the school uniform to feet me self.

I love the fact that the made the dominant color of the uniform blue, my favorite Colour. You know maybe now I can Bribe Miss Okiki to get me a blue framed glass. At least to blend well with the theme Colour of the uniform, this my purple framed glad is just standing out.  The fact that the skit was a checker patterns skit was what made me love my uniform more. This is definitely going to be a great first day of school.

I finally left the mirror after starting at my reflection in it for more that 30 seconds. I got to the kitchen to make pancakes for breakfast and once I was done my brother came to join me for breakfast. We ate in silence and few minutes later Miss Okiki walked in to see us eating. I  quickly went on my  knees to great her before she starts insulting me again, she just dismissed me with the wave of her hands and we all continue to eat.

" so, Dowen Academy hmm. If you like go there and embarrass your self again. I will be waiting for you in this house."

" yes ma."

"You know it's rich man school you are going to And it's back gate you use and enter. If you like go and start another food fight there, you hear me, start it and see what I will do you, both of you."

She said looking at me, practically glaring at me, threatening me to say a word.  my brother had to clear his throat just to get me out  of that uncomfortable situation. My Okiki looked at him a nasty scowl on her face, she then hissed before she continued with her food. Thank God now was my change to escape, my brother nodded at me and rained his hand which held my bag in the air. I smile and shook my head at him, we both bade Miss Okiki fair well and practically ran out of the house before she started hollowing insults at us against.

I got to school at exactly fifteen minutes passed  seven o'clock too excited to focus on where I was going, I was looking round and round until  I ended in the wrong class. in there I meet a group of guys laughing loudly. one of them was caramel skinned  and he was the only one that sensed my presence while his friends where still laughing about something the were talking about . before I could make a run for it or pretend I didn't just enter the wrong class , his eyes were already on mine, holding my gaze as he made his way to me.

"Hi."

I choked out but he said nothing. He only looked at me intensely as his eyes roamed round my body accessing me. I clear my throat to get him attention, I didnt appreciate him looking at me like that.

" hi, I Am Tomiwa Adeskia. A Technical student who just go transferred here from Herbert Macaulay prep. Would you be so kind as to direct me to the Technical class."

" hmmm, your in the right class Miss."

He said chuckling lightly and that got me a little flushed. I looked round the class, the guys who were once laughing were now looking at us intensely. Were this the only student in technical class? Oh no. This can't Be happening, I really can't move from frying pan to fire now. I means surely there must me other student who are doing technical, I can't be the only female technical student for that mater.

Don't get a head of your self the rest of your class mates will be here in 3, 2, ...

The ringing of the bell interrupted my thoughts. Sure enough students who I believe were also technical students like me began trooping in. Some patted his Back as a sigh of greeting while some just brushing passed him. We were still standing and facing each other in front of the class he smirk before saying.

"Indeed black don't crake. Welcome to Dowen Academy newbie."

And like that he left me standing front of the class which by the way was now a beehive of activities. Everyone talking to one person or the other completely ignoring me. I really don't know where this feeling was coming from but I began to feel nervous and self conscious. What happen to the no-nonsense, brave, Tomiwa that could stand ups for herself I was so lost in thought, one hand hugging my bag to my chest while the other hand  was starching the back of head  which was styled into packing gell.

"Hi. First day in dowen academy."

Someone said to me pulling me at of my thoughts. He was an extremely dark guy neatly dressed in the school uniform. He smiled at me and stretch out his hand for a handshake, I took it reluctantly and he shook me firmly In the process shaking the nervousness out of me.

" oh my apologies. My name is chiebuaka Igbofo, but you can call me Ebuka. What's yours."

" Towards. I mean, Tomiwa Adeskia. Nice to meet you Ebuka."

" Oooh Tomiwa,  nice name. And its even nicer to meet you. I may not know alot about you, yet, but I have a good feeling, I think you're goanna like it here."

and just like that I made my first friend oh starch that Acquaintance in Dowen Academy. Hurray for not being a loner, I am definitely telling Erica about this when I get home. We took our sit at the center of the class and before we could get talking again the teacher for the first period walked in. After they usually morning greeting I was made to introduce my self and afterward the class began.

" o.m.g do you guys really have all this here ? Ice screams and yogurt bending machine, two cafeteria and an all you can eat bouffe Whao this school is better than my dream."

"It most certainly is missy."

It was break time and we were still in class. Ebuka was trying to tell me about Dowen academy before we went on an actual tour of the school. He had some wiped cream and Cookies he brought from home so we weren't in hurry to leave the class. We were in the class instead of joining the rest of the student in the cafeteria for lunch yet.

" Yea. And I think I'm gonna like it here."

"Well I couldn't agree more! wait that reminds of that song."

"What song"

I asked genuinely curious as to which song he was talking about. He looked at me for a brief moment. After a few seconds he snaps his fingers like a light bulb turned on in his head. He smiled sheepishly at me before saying.

"I think i'm gonna like it here. From that movie Annie"

"Oh my gosh yes! I know that movie, it came out in 2014. Awwn I love that movieee."

"No way me toooooo!"

He responded smiling  tentatively at me with his perfectly white dentition.  Ebuka  was one of those  too good to be true good guys,  with tall masculine figure and a broad shoulder. He was towering over me with his 6 foot 3 inches figure compare to my 5 foot 7inches figure. He had a very alluring  oval face with full framed glasses  that  looked like that of harry potter. We were heading towards  the cafeteria now when someone  who was walking toward us started scolding Ebuka like a little child.

"Urgh there you are! We've been looking all over for you "

I'm sorry 'we?' But there is only one of you
I thought but I dared not say it out loud.  I'm still the new student  here so I don't want blow my cover.  I just  kept quiet waiting for her to notice me  and oh yay she finally did.

"Wait!  aren't you the newly  transfered student"

"Urr. Yeap im---"

"Hold up wiped cream, Cookie...  What going on here "

She cut me shut and asked with a raised I brow. Ebuka was still holding on to the things we were muching on while we were in class. At first I didn't get what  she was implying  until she said.

"no way.  Did i walking on something? "

And I install turned beetle red on the spot, bowing my head to hid my blush. I finally connected the dots in my head and that only made me blush harder. Ebuka whom I presume knows the girl finally spoke up saving me from further Embarrassed.

"Lydiaaaa!! "

"Whatttt????  i did  see you smiling tentatively. Hmmm"

"Hey where you spying on me? Urgh you know what,  never mind this Tomiwa,  Tomiwa meet Lydia the tease master."

I chuckled and finally raised up my head to take a proper look at her.  She reminds me of Erica because she kinda looks like her, the only different was her skin tone. I smiled awkwardly at her before muttering a shot hello.  She gave me a plus lips smile before saying

" hmmm nice to meet you, but we don't have time for introduction, C'mon the whole gang is waiting. "

With that  we hastened our footsteps following the girl whom I just  learnt her name for Lydia as we head to the cafeteria for the senior block.
