The situation had now definitely taken a turn for the worse. Jason's parents definitely didn't know where their son was, and Linda knew if he was going anywhere he would have told her.

Perhaps he's got lost, or something. She'd told his parents half-heartedly. Rellian and Kirsty and all of Jason's other friends hadn't heard from him all day.

Anyway, he and Linda were inseparable, or so she thought. He definitely would have told her if something was up. Yeah, he would've.

"He's probably just out with like, some friends from Bluemont High." Rellian had told Linda, referring to the school at the other side of Lansville.

Linda had nodded. Although Jason did have at least three good friends who went there, he would have told her if he was going, and he wouldn't have skipped school to go see them, either. No, something was up, and Linda knew that.
