It was getting late, and Linda hadn't heard from Jason at all. She figured it would be wise to call his parents and ask about him: if he was sick, he could at very least manage a text back.

I would have loved to have told Linda the truth: however, I could not foresee the future any better than the rest of them.

She had a long conversation with Jason's parents, and it turned out that Jason had left early that morning to go to school, and his parents were expecting him back at six o'clock as they knew he was going out.

They knew nothing about him not being in school.

This probably should have struck Linda as suspicious: Jason was bright, and not the kind of guy to skip school just for the hell of it. However, she wasn't quite as worried about it as she should have been.

I could tell already that plenty here was out of order: something was suspiciously wrong. However, nothing in Lansville ever really went wrong, so Jason might just have gotten lost or something.

A/N - Thanks for 100 reads! 200 is my next goal.

Hope you're enjoying it so far, are any of you wondering what's going on?
