It was such a beautiful day for pictures and Mia was glad they had decided to do this. She wished that she could freeze the moment with the girls and capture it forever. But the photos would do that for her and she felt a tinge of sadness they hadn't thought of this years ago when the girls were still really young.

As much as she was excited and so thrilled to be starting new with Charlotte, her favorite memories were when they spent time together at first. Flashing through her mind were images of the girls laughing in her back seat after seeing a movie, Ellie's face messy from the concession stand, and getting to listen to Ren talk about her passions. 

Mia watched as Charlotte posed with the girls and wondered what was going through her mind. This had to be special to her and she couldn't wait to hear her ramble on about it later on while they snuggled. Although concern jolted in her veins, as she saw Charlotte's face twist up in pain and grab her stomach.

"Sweetheart, are you alright?"

Mia asked, trying to stay calm and not panic. She felt a bit confused as Charlotte's eyes begin to tear up yet there was now a smile on her face. Then suddenly it hit Mia.

"Charlotte, is it time?" Mia wasn't quite sure what to do in this situation as she had never done this before.

Charlotte nodded,"My water just broke."

The next hour was a complete blur for both Mia and Char. They had to rush home to drop the kids with Michelle and get their hospital bag. They had to call Marjorie, Reece, and Autumn so they would be able to come and visit when Alexander was born. Mia wasn't sure how long this could take, so she made sure to get a coffee for both herself and Charlotte.

Once they had made it into a room, Charlotte was dilated to 4cm. Given this was her 3rd giving birth it was no shock it was moving along so quickly. Contractions were only minutes apart and there were tons of nurses in and out to check on her given her medical history.

Mia never left Charlotte's side or let go of her hand, making sure to wipe her face with a cool washcloth. Her heart felt like it was going to explode out of her chest at the thought of her baby boy coming soon. Her life would finally be complete. She had her whole world, sun, moon and soon her star would be in her arms.

"How are you holding up, sweet girl?" Mia asked softly, giving Charlotte a kiss on the head and massaging her stomach in between contractions.

Charlotte was so thankful for Mia at this moment,"I'm okay."

Her smile was so big on her face as she thought about Alex and what he might look like, who'd he grow up to be, and how much she loved him already. Her mind was already reeling with how sweet Mia was being and how she never had such a caring partner during labor. When she had the girls, she was basically told to be quiet and not wake him up until his daughter was born.

This time was nothing like that. She was nearing closer to being fully dilated when Mia surprised her by singing a soft song to her stomach. She loved when Mia would sing because it reminded her of their first night together.

"Mommy loves you, Alexander. We can't wait to see you so if you don't mind hurrying it up." She joked, which made Charlotte laugh for a while.

"Rushing our baby to grow up already? He's practically 18 years old now."

Mia rolled her eyes,"Oh char, you make my head hurt sometimes." She regretted the comment when Charlotte reached over and punched her arm.

"At least I knew geese could fly."

"Hey! That was a private thought I shared with you."

"All of my privates have been on display for everyone to see so I think it's okay if they know you didn't know geese flew."

Laughter was key for Mia and Charlotte in even the most tense moments like these. They couldn't get enough of each other's smiles and jokes even if they were ridiculous sounding.
Falling in love with each silly word the other one said. Their bond was constantly growing stronger and Charlotte wondered how on Earth she ever survived without Mia by her side. She wasn't sure how she did it, but so happy she had.

It all led up to this beautiful moment where even if Charlotte was in pain beginning to push out their sweet boy, it was so cherished. The pain didn't mean a damn thing if it meant they got to be together and be a family.

It had been about 30 minutes of on and off again pushing when Alexander Reese Roberts finally decided to join the world. He was the most precious thing Mia had ever seen in her whole life. The moment Alex was placed in her arms, her life was forever changed.

"Hi Alexander, it's me Mommy." She smiled, tears in her eyes,"It's so nice to meet you. I see you have my red hair and Mama's soft skin."
She walked around to sit on the hospital bed to pass him to Charlotte,"Look sweetheart, he's trying to smile at you."

Charlotte felt her heart beating so fast as she took him in her arms and held him close.

"Are you trying to smile at Mama, Alexander?" She cooed,"Mama is always going to protect you."

"Yep Mommy would do anything to protect you too."

"Which means Mama might be bailing her out of jail."

It was the sweetest thing to watch as they fell in love with their baby boy and couldn't wait to share him with their friends. Nothing else mattered in that moment besides the new love of their lives.
