"My apologies for disturbing your work Sir Gem but there's an urgent call from your mom on the other line."

Hello people. Name's Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak. This one talking on the phone is my personal assistant Satang who's also an Alpha like me. I am currently in my office here at the 24th floor of the Thantawan Air and Shipping Corp. Our family business.

We own the highly recognized Airlines and Ports not just in the Pacific but also in the world. Providing exceptional services to the public and highly recognized individuals known to mankind.

I took over as its CEO and Owner at the age of 24 when my Po stepped down from the position for having a coronary heart disease. Mae prohibits him from working anymore after he was diagnosed since stress would be bad for his condition. I was just the general manager of finance at that time but it has never been a challenge for me.

Por exposed me in the business as early as my senior years in middle school. I'm the only child and technically, his only heir so that's expected already. I wasn't able to enjoy my teenage life because of it but I'm not complaining at all.

In fact, it did help me with my studies actually since I'm taking business management as my developmental course before college. Not that I brag about it but I grew up in a society where power is the unit of measure for existence. Fame, wealth, gender, they're factors that defines and molds your future.

I am a high ranked pure-blooded Alpha which is only around point five percent of the overall Alpha population. My kind is so rare hence we can only be produced by two Alpha parents at a very low probability or by a pure blooded Alpha and a pure blooded omega parents which has around seven percent probability. When I got into Harrow International School before, the principle almost could not believe that an Alpha as rare as me would enroll to his school.

A normal Alpha excels in physique and mental capacity and possesses skills which gave him the right to dominate genders below our rank. However, for a pure blooded Alpha, we almost excel in every aspect possible. Sports, academics, critical thinking, arts and sciences you name it.

Moreover, pheromones of our kind are very potent compared to regular Alphas. So potent that I can even render them unconscious the longer they're exposed to it while for betas and omegas, I can make them crave and submit to me even if they're several meters away.

That gave me an advantage specially in doing business with clients.They could not overpower nor get me intimidated by their pheromones.

I'm still unmated though, given the fact that I am receiving a lot of attention everywhere I go. One of the qualities of an Alpha. I tried dating in the past to find my potential mate but I get bored of my partners easily.

I just can't find someone compatible with my personality or with me in bed yet except for that one time. No one can ever surpass the feeling of pleasure that I felt with that omega ten years ago. It was my first rut and my first experience with mating as well and so was he but damn, it was the best sex I'd ever had in my life.

Sure I had some occasional sex every now and then but no one can make me feel the pleasure that is as intense as to what I had gained from that omega.

I know you will ask me if I tried to search for him and the answer to that is yes, but, my chance of finding him is like finding one needle in stashes of hay. I don't have his name, even on how exactly does he look like. He's wearing a mask that night and he don't want me to take it off. The only clue I have is the scent of his pheromones and the silvery color of his eyes.

He smells like a combined scent of jasmine and lemon.

"Sir are you still there?"

"Yes I am. You may transfer her over."

"Alright sir."

Satang's line has been put on hold for a bit before my mom came in.

For sure, she will nag at me again regarding the blind date she set-up for me and her best friend's daughter. Which I did not show up by the way. I'm so busy here in the office already and besides that woman is so boring.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GEMINI NORAWIT TITICHAROENRAK?!!!!"

Aw..shit. she busted my ear.

"Ao...Mae, I'm in the office right now. Please don't shout na. I can hear you, you know."

"I KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN YOUR OFFICE OR ELSE WE ARE NOT TALKING RIGHT NOW IN THE OFFICE PHONE. WHAT I MEAN IS, WHY DID YOU NOT MEET UP WITH JESSICA?? SHE'S WAITING FOR YOU HERE AT HARROW!!"

Tss..told you.

Tsk. Who the hell on his right mind would date a woman in a high school sportsfest? That Jessica is a lunatic.

"Mae I told you yesterday that I will not come. Please stop pairing me up with some random woman. I'll settle down when I feel like it."

"But Gem, your Po and I are not getting any younger. We want to see our grandchildren too you know."

"Mae you're literally just 48 while Po is 52. You can definitely still see your grandchildren."

"Don't use that tone on me Norawit and when do you plan to have kids? When I'm blinded with cataract already?"

"Pom kor toht Mae. I didn't mean to but really, please stop setting me up on blind dates. If I found my potential mate already, you'll be the first one to know. It wouldn't be that long. I promise. Okay krap?"

"Chan me taang luak Mai?"

"No Mae. You don't have a choice." I chuckled as I answered her when she asked if she has a choice or not. I'm sorry Mae but I don't have plans to settle down for now.

"Ai' sat. You're really the most stubborn child of mine."

"Ma.. I'm the only one."

"Jing raaw? " ( Really? )

"Ao.."

"Kidding. Alright..I'll hung up now. Don't stay late and--Ouch."

"Mae!! What's happening there? Hello? Hello Mae? Are you alright? Mae answer me!!!!"

I almost stand up from seat when I heard her grunt then followed by the sound of some things dropping on a hard surface. I tried to get her attention several times but no response. I even check the phone if the call got disconnect but it was not. Worry and panic rushed throughout my system thinking that something bad happened until I heard someone having a conversation with my mom.

"Hello son? Are you still there?"

"Yes Mae. You got me extremely worried. What happened? What's that noise?"

"Ah..I accidentally bump into someone while talking to you."

"Are you okay though?"

"Chai Kha. Don't worry. I'm unscrathed. I broked his camera though. Poor guy. I'll hang up now. Bye."

"Okay. Take care."

I sighed out of relief before I put the receiver back.

I thought I lost Mae back there. Well, let's get back to business then.

I stayed in the office till seven at night before I called it a day. I'm currently driving my way home hence Po message me to have dinner with them because he has something to talk about so instead of staying in my own house, I will sleep with them tonight. It's weekend tomorrow anyway and it's my off. I'm stuck in the traffic right now and what's worse is, it's about to rain in any second.

About five minutes had passed before the cars starts to move. I'm about to maneuver for a U- turn at the intersection ahead when Po suddenly called me.

"Hello krab Po."

"Where are you now son? Your Mae is looking for you already and she's asking me non-stop."

"I'm almost there. Can you hold it a little longer for me? I'm just 10 mins away from the house or so at least." I teased him a little bit making him laugh. He's always complaining about Mae nagging all the time but in the end he'll just tolerate it. Saying that it was the package he got from marrying her.

"Okay. I'll hang up now. Drive safely Son. Bye."

"I will Po. Bye."

After the line got disconnected, I focused on driving until I reached home.

Being here again feels a bit nostalgic hence it's almost a year and a half now since my last stay here. My parents house is almost an hour and a half drive from the city. With the traffic and such, I decided to just buy a house to stay in a village near my workplace aside from the room I added in the executive lounge just in case I decided to stay in the office.

"Welcome home son."

It's Mae running towards me right after I get out of my car. She hugged me tightly as she kissed my cheeks.

"Thank you na krab. I miss you."

"Hmmp but you never visit us here. I thought that I would see that handsome face of yours the other day but you ditched Jessica."

"Oi Mae. We already talked about this."

"Just trying my luck I guess. Come on! I cooked all of your favorites." She said excitedly while hugging my waist as we entered the house.

"That's more like it. Where's Po?"

"He's in the dine waiting. Give me that coat. You go shower real quick then we'll eat together."

"Alright. I'll be quick."

I kissed her cheeks and hug her again before I ran upstairs and into my room. Making her chuckle as she put my coat on the rack beside the door.

My eyes roam around the interiors of my room as I entered. It did not change at all since the day I left here. My guitar and keyboard is still on its place same with my staff bag and golf clubs. I have a deep sigh before I go straight to my wardrobes to find a comfortable clothes to wear and took a quick warm shower.

Mae and Po are already settled on their seats when I reach the dine hall. Maids are lining up in both corners waiting to serve as necessary. Por gave me a welcoming smile while Mae gestured for me to sit opposite her. There is indeed a lot of food on the long table and most of them are my favorites.

"How's my boy?" Po asked as he flick his finger. Giving hints to the maid that we're going to start eating.

"I'm fine Po. So far things are running smoothly." I answered while picking some food I missed to eat. Some of the maids are assisting me for those that are too far from my grasp.

"Good. At least I will be at ease when I leave."

My spoon stopped midway upon hearing what he had said.

"You leaving? When? What for?"

They became silent for a moment and look at each other before Mae hold my father's hand. That made me confused. Okay what's going on?

"Is this the reason why you invited me for dinner?"

"Son..Your father's condition is not doing good. We are trying any treatment possible but his recovery is quite slim. The doctors said that his illness is caused by a virus and if not treated, they might resort to heart transplant."

It was Mae who answered as tears started to escape from her eyes.

"Considering his age, he only has a 20% chance if we choose the operation which is why we'll try the best treatments in the US for him."

"Since when have you found out about his real condition?"

"We've known it since day one." It's Po who answered me this time and upon hearing that, my eyes changed color into my pitch black one because of anger and disappointment. Even the maids trembled in fear when I slammed the table before me.

"Why did you hide it from me?!!! I have the right to know!"

"Manners young Titicharoenrak!!! " Po raised his voice a little bit as his eyes changed into crimson his red. "It was I who told your mom to keep it a secret while we're trying all means of treatment. I don't want you to stress out even more. Besides, I don't want the board to doubt your credibility as my heir so I made it look like I'm still strong enough to guide you as you manage the business."

"Po! Lok!! Calm down both of you. Please." Mae pleads at us as she tries to sooth Po's discomfort off his chest. That made me gather my self control when I saw Po is having a hard time breathing.

I slump at my seat while saying my apologies. I lost my appetite now because of what I heard.

"Son I hope you understand. We don't want to keep this crucial matter to you but we don't want you to worry much while proving yourself to the board. That way, you'll be more focused instead of your mind wandering about us." It was Mae who is now sitting beside me as she pats my back.

"Is this why you tried to have me settle down and have my own kids every once in a while? Huh Mae?" I asked her bitterly as I pried her hands off me.

"Yes I told her to do that. Don't blame your Mae. She's against the idea actually but I'm thinking that if in case that I don't have much time left, at least I could see you settle down and have my grandchildren calling me as they play around the house."

"Po don't say that. You'll be okay. You promised me you'll fight right?" It's Mae who's shaking her head vigorously. Obviously opposing the idea of Po dying.

"Of course Mae I will. I will."

Mae hugged Po as she cries and watching it with my own eyes makes me want to shed some tears too but I hold it in. They don't want to see me weak because of this so I'll stay tough for them then. I'm not that angry. No. Very disappointed I must say.

"When do you plan to leave?" I dared to ask after the long silence.

"Our flight is in three months and our stay is indefinite depending on Po's recovery."

"Okay I'll visit you there once in a while. Po, take care of yourself before then. I can't promise you though that I'll settle down once you're back but once I find my wife to be, I'll let you know."

"Thank you for understanding my son."

I just pat my father's arm to tell him that it's okay. We continued our dinner in an awkward silence after that.

I choose to stay in my parents house the whole weekend until Monday came. I was getting ready to drive off when Mae knocked on my car window.

"Yes Mae? Did I forget something?" I asked her right after I slid down the glass window.

"No..no...I just want to ask you a favor, son. I forgot to ask you during the weekend."

"Sure. As long as it's not another date then I'm fine with that. What is it?" She chuckled upon hearing my teasing that she slammed her palm at my elbow playfully.

"Oi! Of course not. Do you remember the guy I told you the other day?"

"Which one? I'm sorry I can no longer recall."

"The one I broke the camera at Harrow's"

"Oh.. chai krab. What about it?"

"I called Satang earlier to make me an appointment with Nong Fotfot later but then your Aunt Jennie called me that she'll pay us a visit so I can't come to my appointment with Nong Fourth."

"Okay..you wanted me to tell Satang to cancel your appointment?"

"Mai dai! I'm already more than embarrassed that it took me this long to settle this with the guy. What I want is, may you please meet him for me?"

I was dumbfounded and a little bit confused for a sec.

"Huh? What will I do there with him Mae? I can just send Satang to accompany that...what is his name again?"

"Nong Fourth."

"Right... I can just send Satang to accompany Khun Fourth in buying a new camera. Why does it have to be me?"

"Oh yeah...I did not think about that. I'm sorry dear but I already told Nong Fourth that you'll come for me instead. Please na..."

"Er..er...what time is your appointment with him."

"Jingjing?"

"Ao? I thought you were asking me-"

"Okay Kha. It's 3 in the afternoon na ja." She teasingly said to interrupt me which made me shake my head while smiling. Mae will always be Mae no matter what.

But then when I was thinking that she's done already, I was actually wrong. Mae grabbed my jaw to make me look at her.

"You know what, Nong Fourth is actually a very cute omega. His enchanting eyes and alluring smile can definitely be the death of all Alphas out there. If I'm just unmated, I'll definitely woo him to be my mate."

Damn I am having a bad feeling about this.

"And why are you telling me all of this. Huh Mae?"

"Nothing. Just saying."

"Oi! I'm going now Mae. I've wasted almost half the day already." I just heaved a sigh as I shook my head in disbelief.

"Drive safely baby and say sorry to Nong Fourth for me.Okay?"

"I will krab. Bye."

She's waiving on me in the side mirror as I maneuvered my Black Rolls-Royce Tail out the garage so I sneak my head out to mouth my good bye before I hit off the road.
