Chapter 96: Battle Split

Using their financial resources, the heirs plus Wali managed to commodore a vehicle taking them to the sea connecting Cusp Central to Shugoda, finding several shipwrecked battle and cruise ships, looking around.

"Where is he?"

A fortress combining the elements of a submarine and a palace rose out of the depths, splashing onto the epipelagic zone.

"Proxim knows we're here. So Tenshia ust be inside."

Worse, a pink manifestation flew out between them, dispersing into petals for Mako, Vena, and Vital to stand onto, the latter two exceptionally tired.

"Late as usual. I'll reprimand my colleagues for their failure later."

Some of the abandoned ships flew towards the fortress as Proxim stepped out. A monitor above showed Tenshia restrained, phasing in and out of her Monkey Evolution.

"Free her now," Sehki roared.

"You have other Volans to fry," said Proxim's cold voice from speakers, transfiguring the ships alongside several switches amassed, creating three gigantic meteors constantly rising up the sky.

Ainsley raised their head. "If those meteors fall, they can hit each country...or drop on Fenghuang. It'll be a Void breakout!"

Sehki turned to them. "You three handle it."

"Help us," Taylor yelled.

"I am," pointing to Mako gripping his sword. "Wali, you take the siblings, saving Tenshia and stopping him is on me. We're in this together: we'll divide and conquer."

"It is a viable strategy," Wali admitted. Rigal tapped him on the shoulder.

"Mako's never thought highly of us. Sehki can get under his skin. If he stays calm."

"Everyone's fighting for us. This time I won't mess up. I promise."

On the count of three, Ainsley broke off the ground to make a platform for themselves, Rigal, and Taylor. Mako lept but Sehki intercepted him with a backflip kick forcing him back.

"Tiger, Dog!"

Vital and Vena flew up, yelling Tiger and Dog Evolution. His body gained orange and white fur with black stripes, and claws out of his whip. Van gripped the muzzle, turning her head into a dog-human hybrid, complete with hand grip weapons.

They jumped over Mako to pincer him but Wali's tongue whacked them both away. The Umbra natives landed after Saiban's, who recollected their status together.

"Vena, Vital? He doesn't even call you by your names? Are you his orbit or his puppets?"

They hesitated, but stood vigilant at Mako's glare.

"We fight not for ourselves, but as the constellations for our hopeless world!"

"Our souls and identities mean nothing for the sake of our people!"

Wali gripped his staves. "The twisted souls of our leaders are just as bad as the advisors who enable them!"

"The relative of a criminal should hold his tongue," Mako interjected.

Sehki held his hips. "So why aren't you?"

The swordsmen stabbed the ground, making the cousins dodge rising petal pillars. The twins bounded out of the spell's wake but Wali lashed Vital into Vena, igniting the metal floors and ripping an assortment of lava to quell their fireball circus barrage.

Sehki swooped in to absorb their rising negative energy but reacted with the Onyx Merge: Camo Soul, pushing several of Mako's approaching slashes and a charged sword beam of piercing energy with a Camo Cannon, ripping through the hole in the ship.

He looked down and Tenshia was nowhere to be seen.

"I'll lead them away to search around the others for her location. Stay strong against Mako!"

"Right!" He twisted the tongue in several directions, making Mako exert more force trying to get closer, eventually slashing the ground underneath.

Sehki wondered if he was retreating until a field of feathers coalesced into a giant peacock, ripping the ship from below the deck. He had no choice but to jump with his makeshift hoverboard, turning back to catch not one, but two giant peacocks from above and below.

Mako, using two swords, weaved them in any direction based on their slashes. Sehki flew towards other ships around, but the aura birds shattered the area behind him with every step.

"Not going to summon your Zodiac to fight? Pity there's not much shade in the ocean!"

Don't fall for it, aware of his disadvantage, but couldn't find Tenshia anywhere. Both converged on him and he dived into the water in a panic, but the feathers didn't follow him.

Right, they become more heavy underwater. Alright then, Zodiac Awakening!

He summoned the giant snake, lifting some of the cruise and battleship airborne.

"You want my Zodiac?" He rammed it into the peacocks, who shredded them into multiple pieces. "Claw through the path of your own shadows first!" He hurled all of the splintering giant ships at Mako.

The next heir in line had to disperse his animal into multiple blades to slash and break several of them, some of which splashed onto the ocean. Sehki returned the beast, using the fractured and falling ship's parts as cover to make more shadows, hoping in and out to get closer.

"Get out of the shadows you disgrace!" Mako constantly ordered his blades to search for him, looking up to see Sehki complete with a Shadow Pull of a peacock wrapped around his feet.

"Much obliged!"

Above them Ainsley, Taylor and Rigal balanced trying to rust the meteors while Proxim weaved some off to fight them, repelling all three of them back, laughing and clapping, altering them with the shape of a snake, fish, and bird.

"You foolish children masquerading as adults will finally wake up to reality!"

The heirs looked down at Sehki fighting against Mako with all he had while Wali fought Vena and Vital. They knew what they had to do.

"We won't be grounded in our delusions any more!"

"I can't call myself a true hero or avenge my people until we drown your plans!"

"I'll blow that dented suit right off your body, coward!"

"You're welcome to try and fail like you all have before," ripping the animals out.

"Just like you're failing your graduating class as we speak."
