Chapter 82: Rigal's Return
"Child, if you wish to learn the truth, aggression is not the key."
"Akilah, tone. Cassie, there's a way to get what you want, but working with Proxim will only lead to suffering down the road."
Cassie's brand struggled with what to think when several Switch users surrounded them, and Mako jumped to cut her down.
"You lying cock!"
A mist around her formed, causing Malora Constains confusing even her to surround the First Spouse and new principal. Sehki noticed most of the campus was asleep.
"I'll have to end this quickly and calmly," about to step out when they heard a flash of lightning. Taylor grinned.
"Don't worry. He's finally ready to strike."
"Though Shock Monarch doesn't feel as fitting as Sky Monarch," Ainsley quipped.
"And this is why I pick the names."
The sky above the Jovetress Transits erupted with small tornadoes the likes of with none had felt or witnessed before as they captured and blasted the Switch users up in the air alongside the mist.
Black hands of power rapidly shifted, and Sehki shifted out the airship to see the familiar figure using one hand to constantly knock them back and forth into one another, while a powerful gust left Mako and Cassie shielding themselves from a simple spell with that much force behind it.
"Light them up, I'll finish them off, and you'll make fireworks."
Surprised by his more calm demeanor, Sehki agreed, launching a series of fireballs at the targets. A massive funnel of wind ensnared them all with the latter's spell, becoming a miniature burning tornado trapping them.
With a hand crush, the funnel cloud exploded and blew them all up, allowing Sehki to absorb their essence, knocking them down for Mechion to capture. A blast of wind conjured the mist into smaller clouds Sehki shot, and his ally made the smoke explode into fireworks.
The others watched certain members of the student body coming out to fireworks exploding, able to drown out the Shugoda heir stepping onto the giant library's ceilings.
"Mother, are you okay?"
She joined them. "Operational, good job my son."
Once everyone on the ship got off, it quickly became the heirs, Shadow Brawlers, Heralds, and Queens on one side, the Rising Twelve and Mako on the other, and most of the classmates caught in the middle with Ruben lifting up a tired Kayla, unsure of what to do.
Sehki gulped. "Look, there's fireworks, we just came back, people are hurt, can we talk about all of this in the morning?"
Sensing Mako was about to attack, Cassie flipped away in time, flying at Rigal, who matched her fist, preventing her from reaching his mother.
"If it isn't the coward who ran away from the people his family imprisoned."
"If you want my mom, you'll have to get through me!"
"Pest, I don't mess with incest," swinging off him and dancing into the sky, ripping out most of the overgrown hair on her body. "Malora's Cast!"
"You wanna be a Lyra Fighter," unleashing a raging storm with a double flap. "Then match the rhythm of my storm!"
It surrounded only her, and most of the feathers were sucked into the rotation. She weaved them to slash his skin, but they barely pushed him back, only intensifying the amount of power inside to harm her.
"I'm the alpha star of my parent's sins. If this is your justice, I'll endure your punishment. Let's see how long you can deliver!"
With no other options, Cassie turned the majority of her fociles into a giant spear, flying down the tornado to target him. Rigal charged up an Eagust, but Sehki and Cree flew out of the latter's shadow to block the two from a collision that could potentially damage everyone on the roof.
"Enough," letting her know about his promise to Fari and Easel. "Cassie, you don't have to fight us."
Wali backed up Cree to push her back further. "Kesh isn't coming back. Akilah has conceded the Bezek's were irresponsible but they were not the only culprit! Someone else sabotaged the devices. Help us find and stop the culprit before Proxim's lies render you like the rest!"
Rigal dispersed the spell. Everyone else in her eyes seemed to be waiting for her answer.
"You let Mako and his crew stay after what he's done? I'm not taking the blame for that!"
Rigal's gaze snapped at Xia's brother. "What is she talking about?! You attacked my pack?"
"The Nuckelherd met us with the Cavern filled with Switches. Unlike them, we don't need such gimmicks to empower ourselves. Who's power attacked the campus?"
Cassie shuddered, rightfully enraged. "He's lying! They invited and asked for my feathers!."
"Another lie made to slander Fenghuang's contributions to Celestial," completely unfazed. "They were barely around while we were solving the conflicts. Fellow students, are you willing to let her torment of our campus slide?"
Sehki watched his words sway some of them and Cassie's defensive gaze, realizing of a loophole he missed.
"Um, last I checked, you all distracted me from helping the others," pointing out Mako attacked him twice in front of everyone.
"You used the Nuckelherd as a distraction even though they only had issues with us?"
"What gibberish, you side with the lies of a criminal? What excuse would I have?"
"Your sister got manipulated, your father collaborated with framing my parents, and you want everyone to trust your shady wings? I guess the cock doesn't fall far from your family's poor excuse for balls!"
Dango was too restrained by Mako's scowl as he unsheathed his blade to fire a fierce sword field as a growing force pushed Sehki into Cassie, leaving them both vulnerable to the attack Rigal intercepted with both hands to barely hold it back.
"You were gonna let him hit me?"
"Wait, no, someone," stretching his shadow to find Paleun shrinking, trying to warn her a second too late for her to see as she got pushed into Rigal's spell.
