Chapter 60: Searching for Hollows
Sehki approached Jia with any thoughts or figures of Qian to start Wali's means of finding him.
"Are you sure? I want my child to be safe, but why would you risk your life for them?"
"Xia brought them up and how much she cares for them. While she's getting investigated, I wanna make sure you all reunite by the time she's released."
"How sweet of you. Prince Sehki, do you have feelings for my daughter?"
"What, no," about to call her daughter an abuser.
"Don't be so modest. Sometimes your father showed that same compassion to me."
"I mean, she's got..qualities. Some of which are good. She doesn't get the bad ones from her father, does she?"
Jia sighed. "Jun cares alot about Fenghuang Saiban and just wants it to be free of Voids. Whatever he can't control, he'll erase or ensure it won't take advantage of anyone."
"So that's why he was working with Luminite," deep in thought. "After the incident, he's the one who implemented the training."
"I tried to get him to lower the time to get them some focus on their health, but I know he wanted to be the one who contained the Voids."
"And you and Qian got infected during the attack. Maybe it was a political rival...or Proxim. What's her StellArt?"
"Corona Australis."
"The soul: okay," maybe Proxim's using that to mold more Horrorscopes, theorizing something he wished wasn't true. "Does Jun have another StellArt?"
"Sculptor. But he's imprisoned."
"For now."
"I just hope he doesn't do anything to make his sentence worse."
"What was his endgame? It couldn't be just to get rid of me and use Cluster. He could've just sent the heirs to fight Lumin before I awakened my Zodiac."
"My husband's complicated. He may have been working on a means to contain the Voids and use the power himself."
"Does Mako know," letting her know about some of the Twelve having weapons resembling the switches.
"Mako would rather rely on his own power than something like that. But I doubt they'll listen to me. Sehki, do me a favor."
"Sure?"
Her eyes lit up with regret and honesty.
"Can you save my family and people?"
Struck through her words, he couldn't help but say yes.
"I promise."
She handed him a photo, consisting of the five of them as a family, complete with Quan.
"I hope it helps."
"Thank you," waving her out. Eventually he met up with Wali.
"You got her to give this to you?"
"So how does this help?"
"It's hard to implement, but everyone leaves a magic signature to some extent. Since Ophiuchus is the only constellation that's a Zodiac and outside of the original twelve, you can resonate with its lights."
"So we're going to use it to find Qian's signature?"
"You'll send the serpent into the sky. Chameleon's eyesight will allow me to see through its sight. Using it as a medium, even if it's faint, we should be able to find a trace."
"Sounds pretty hard to do."
"It's forbidden unless in case of emergencies: especially the cost."
"Potential stalking and harassment of the royal families, right?"
"Correct. But why are you choosing to help the Hinatas after all they've done to you?"
"Because my brother and her sister going missing can't be a coincidence. The longer we wait, the more someone could take advantage of their condition."
"I've seen you've gotten wiser since I've been gone. Follow me."
He was told to meditate in the middle of the Shadowscald Woods, summoning the entire Ophiuchus beast. Allowing it to rocket into the sky, as high as possible, he closed his eyes.
And from the beast's perspective, he got to see Terra from higher than he's ever seen.
"There's so much beauty in this world. We can't let it fall to ruin because of the actions of a few bad apples."
Wali searched around, attempting to focus exclusively on Qian's tiny signature through the photo throughout all the regions, including a continental ice mass with numerous outposts, a gigantic fortress, and other locales.
"Where is that?"
"Snegurochka Sidepoint. It's where the Justice Society is held."
"Why, cuz the ice helps them end the Voids easier?"
"So you do remember. Which countries did they break apart from to form it?"
"Uhhhhh, Fenghuang and Coalition?"
"Good guess. The Frostbite Fortress holds even the most dangerous criminals."
"So that's where Calypsa, Delta, and Kesh are?"
"Yes, but focus. We can talk about him later."
As he said that, a figure flew above Tellus Asylum. Kesh commanded Sehki to follow it, hurrying to meet what looked like a spectral figure in the shape of a young teen, who panicked in fear.
"Qian? Is that you?"
Sehki squinted for a closer look, seeing scars and bruises across your face.
"Who did this to you?"
"Who are you," the feminine voice asked, rightfully terrified at the massive multi-mile serpent. "That shadow: are you Sehki?"
"Sorry, this is the only form I can see....you know who I am?"
"I was told not to talk to you."
"Your sister and mom have been trying to find you! Are you okay?"
"Mom, really? I don't know, I keep traveling from kingdom to kingdom anytime I'm awake to these lab places."
"All of them?"
"One in Tellus, Coastrosity, and Shugoda."
"Okay. I'll do my best to come find you. Is anyone else there with you: tall-ish girl, guy with gray skin, adorable blond haired brother?"
"Flint? Wait, you're Shemar?"
"Yeah!" His heart accelerated. "You know my brother!? Is he okay?!"
"Well yes but," wincing. "I have to go - I'll tell him I saw you."
"Wait," reaching out but she vanished in front of Ophuchius, breaking concentration.
"Wali, he's alive! Flint's," closing his eyes from the tears. "We have to find him!"
Both of them took a breather from the expended amount of magic.
"Then we'll...move!"
A group of bodies was flying towards them.
