Chapter 11: Eruption Altar - Hinata Jun
All six of them instinctively leaped away from what felt like slow motion of the emerging light as Jun slashed his hands out in both directions.
Ainsley proved to be the slowest, covering themselves with a golem to cover them from the blast that completely encased the summoner's body. The others turned back to find it destroyed, and Ainsley coughing from the heat of the smoke.
"Ainsley!"
"One down already? No wonder you were defeated by a disgrace. Which one did you say was the strongest again?" He pointed to Rigal. "Alpha, you called yourself? The brightest star?"
Jun's head leaned upward. "Did losing that actress dimmer your Altair? Or were you always this weak?"
Sehki and Calypsa recognized, warning him way too late it was bait as the Shugoda heir rushed in.
"Don't talk about her!"
He came swinging at full force, which Jun gracefully side-stepped with ease. His rage propelled him to continue only for Jun's body to swerve away, barely even looking, while sealing off follow ups with quick blocks to his reserve limb.
Slipping off his elbow strike to deliver a gut punch, Jun finished with a kick to Rigal's face, pushing him back into Ainsley.
"I expected more," watching Taylor dive to their direction flipping off the ground, away from a geyser with style into his flying oceanic jet attack.
"You trained us to surpass you old supernovas!"
Jun jerked his head to the right as two fire towers intercepted Taylor, burning away his water magic as he broke free, grabbing and flipping him into Rigal.
"And your growth seems trapped in a black hole of your own creation."
"That's enough," Xia yelled, flying towards him and changing directions mid air to avoid the pillars. Despite having her palm hand backhand strikes parried, the pressure to not end up like them resulting in watching her father's legs, going for kicks while creating flame kunai to endure his heavy punches she knew she couldn't take head on.
"Excellent strategy, daughter. But," jumping onto her legs while the same light was about to emerge under her friends.
"You share your punishment with them."
Flames from Xia propelled her to dive and push off the molten floor to smash into the other heirs away from the flames, as she spun around into a burning tornado made of phoenix feathers clashing against the heat of her father's magic overwhelming her own until it passed.
"Not bad," her father admitted as he flew to stab his heel down onto his daughter. She blocked it in time, but he opened his fists: fire targeting her, and the other heirs.
"I am the Eruption Altar - Hinata Jun. You're the world's sacrifice for that reminder."
Just as the flames burst in, Sehki and Calypsa matched the fire-orange releases with a Eridinus wave air to his face, forcing him to aim one to counter it while the Umbra heir lifted up river energy's silhouette off the ground with his might, narrowly saving his rivals.
The older president jumped down as the couple-of-undetermined-relationships took turns blocking his brisk-dense-hits constantly pushing them back, allowing Xia to pick the others up. Jun commanded a spire of flame to burn them when Rigal conjured two tornadoes to quell it.
Using the window to leap back towards the entrance, all six clutched their chest.
"This is the power of a Planetary President?"
Jun calmly pierrotted back down to the floor cracking his neck back and forth.
"Is that the limit of your potential? A dance is no fun with a lackluster partner."
Taylor gulped. "He could kill us!"
"Hey, on the bright side, if you died, nothing of value would be lost."
"You're heartless!"
"You all almost murdered me and now you grow a conscious?"
"We're going to be stuck like this," Ainsley admitted. "Let's just go."
Calpysa looked down, growing consciously concerned. "It won't work," taking out a Starlight orb, when Jun pulled out an empty vessel.
The one Calypsa was holding transferred the energy into the other one, forcing her to pull it back from continuing.
"One hit against me was your promise, correct? You won't leave until that is fulfilled. I'll train you for eternity, or talk to your parents about suitable replacements."
Rigal sucked his teeth. "We'll be stuck here almost as long as Xia."
She winced. "No way, I'll get you out of here. But dad-"
Seeing her hands fidgeting, Sehki walked forward.
"Xia," pulling her forward much to her dismay, whispering an idea before letting go.
"Calypsa, those...seals. That's his StellArts, isn't it?"
Her nod was all it took for him ponder what to do before he looked back.
"Watch my movements, and strike back when you're ready to jump in," walking forward.
"You're fighting me by yourself? I see your Mightathlon experience has raised your arrogance," his
"You may be strong, but every magic has it's weakness," dashing forward.
"And I'm yours!"
Jun smiled, as he knocked a black light briefly glowing under him, jumping back from the volume of rising heating, his flying kick getting intercept with a simple head catch.
"Nowhere to run."
Sehki conjured rock from his leg, throwing it from behind and sent his shadow to catch and return it back. Jun simply crushed it into his palm with a nod, pulling back and letting go as another geyser rose at him.
Sehki shaped and pulled up his shadow as a blanket, saving his stomach while the molten lava rocketed him up in the sky, with steam flying from his silhouette.
"It worked!"
"Interesting. Can your peers do the same," unsealing and dancing onto two streams of lava he weaved at the other five when Sehki jumped to cover the paths of both.
"Why defend my daughter after she's attempted to eliminate you?"
"Who fostered that hatred? Her, or you?"
Jun paused for a second as Sehki boosted himself to strike with fire and water whips, only for them to be deflected by two arrows.
"You'll find that out," about to lodge them straight into his chest.
