REWRITTEN

(sorta, I got lazy towards the end)

(Y/N) walked towards the end of the treehouse, there was a small opening in the treehouse, where a branch grew out of. The girl would often sit outside on the branch to stare out at the stunning metro city's bright lights. due to autumn ending, the leaves had grown back big and beautiful, but unfortunately the green had stolen (Y/N)'s view of the city lights. So, she got up and climbed further down the branch.

"(Y/N) is going out further than usual." Kennedy pointed out, feeling a little nervous that she might fall. Astro and Reno's heads whipped around to face the branch she sat in.

"Maybe I should-" Astro leaned his body towards the protruding tree branch, contemplating if he should interrupt (Y/N)'s alone time or let her be.

"I'll go see what's up!" Reno dusted himself off and ventured out of the treehouse without another word, leaving the others to question is eagerness.

"What's up with him?" Alejo asked, sniffling up his glasses. The others just shrugged, uncaring of the answer.

"Hey, (Y/N)." Reno said her name quietly, not to scare her. He kept walking up the branch towards the girl.

"Oh hey Reno, I thought you were Astro." (Y/N) said, almost laughing from her misconception.

"Got him on the mind?" Reno asked in a joking manner.

"Yes, actually." (Y/N) went a little red. Reno sat down next to her, his smile being replaced with a serious expression after all.

"Why?" Reno asked, leaning forward.

"I think.. I think I have feelings for him." (Y/N) admitted in a whisper, a shy smile forming on her face as she placed her cold hands on her hot cheeks. Reno may have kept his cool on the inside, but his mind was going completely berserk. He had been outdone by the might atom??

"What are you going to do about it?" The brunette asked with a clear, uninterested tone.

"I-.. I don't know really. I want to confess so much to him. But I don't want to ruin the friendship we've built." (Y/N) sighed and looked down, her hands cupped together on her chest to feel her pounding heart. Even disusing this with someone she trusted, she still felt anxious. Reno took a fist of his pant fabric and squeezed it until knuckles went white. 

"How about you practise on me?" Reno was a quick thinker. He already knew he wasn't giving up on his feelings for (Y/N).

"What?" (Y/N) shifted her glance to the brunette.

"You can just pretend that I'm Astro, you can practice your confessions on me! You can hold my hand! You can do whatever you want to me, I'll be your Astro boy and you can just be my (Y/N)." Reno took a hold of (Y/N)'s hand and placed it on his lap softly.

"Your (Y/N)?" The flushed girl asked, she looked down at Reno's hands and rubbed his knuckles. He was such a kind guy. Reno smiled to himself at the actions of the smaller girl.

"Try to confess to me." He instructed. Reno was curious about what (Y/N) confessing would even sound like. 

"Okay.." (Y/N) nodded and looked up at Reno. He began to blush deeply when she moved her hand so that their fingers were intertwined. The pale moonlight shone on her (E/C) eyes, making them seem lighter then usual. "I need to tell you something." She started, waiting for Reno to play along.

"Go ahead.." He mumbled while nodding his head encouragingly.

"I need to tell you that-.. that.." (Y/N) stuttered uncontrollably.

"It's okay, take a deep breath. You can trust me with anything." Reno gave her a small reassuring smile.

"I love you!" She shouted, shutting her eyes tightly. "I love you so much! E-Every day I see you, I get such a warm feeling in my chest your voice alone could make me smile! You are the best friend I have ever had, but I can't but help to wonder if we would be better off more than just friends." She looked down and shook her head. "I want to be close to you, I want to hold my hand forever, I can't ever get you off my mind! And I know, I just know that you're the one for me."

Reno felt like his life was complete from hearing that. He pulled (Y/N) into a hug and held her tightly in his arms. "You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that."

(Y/N) hesitated but she eventually hugged him back. She then pulled away from the tight embrace. "Thanks for helping me with that Reno, I went on a bit of a tangent." She shrugged playfully while twidling her index fingers.

"No, no. What you said was.. it was amazing." Reno shon a friendly smile at her.

(Y/N) turned the other side and looked back at the treehouse. She sighed and faced Reno again, who hadn't taken his eyes off her. "We should head back in. I hope the others didn't hear us..." She smiled nervously.

"Yeah. Let's head in." Reno said, gesturing for her to go first.

Later that night...

The four boys had fallen asleep, but Astro wasn't, since he technically didn't exactly need to. He lay wide awake in his sleeping bag, listening to (Y/N) shuffle around in her own sleeping bag. She then sat up, surprising Astro. She grumbled something and looked around her, trying to spot someone awake on their phone.

"Psst, anyone awake..?" She asked in a whisper.

Astro then sat up too. "Yeah, I am." He whispered back.

"Oh, sorry! I'll let you go back to sleep.." She stammered, still whispering.

"No, no. It's fine. I wanted to talk to you anyway." Astro said, shifting closer to (Y/N) with a concerned or rather sad facial expression.

"About what?" (Y/N) asked, crossing her legs. She was smiling a little bit, but it was a confused smile.

"Well... do you... like anyone?" Astro asked, trying to find the right words to make the outcome of his sentence less awkward.

(Y/N) flinched a little, if she could see her own hands in the dark, they would be starting to shake. "What do you mean?" She asked, trying to act as dumb as possible.

"You know, do you have any 'special feelings'?" He asked. Since it was dark, (Y/N) couldn't see, but Astro could, he was using night vision to look at the girl in front of him.

(Y/N) took a deep breath and mentally calmed herself, she wouldn't actually tell Astro, but she would give him a hint.

"Yes, I do.." (Y/N) took a deep breath. "He's got crazy dark hair." She smiled and looked over to were Astro was sitting, although all she could really see was his dark figure and his light-up eyes. "His eyes are amazing, he's always showing me new tricks and he's really smart.." 

"Well, I hope you get him... I'm going to sleep." Astro mumbled and moved back to his bed.

(Y/N) suddenly felt hurt, did she scare him off? Maybe he just wasn't interested in her? She thought maybe she freaked him out. The girl stayed quiet for a minute but then laid down, tears prickling her eyes.

The next day...

"(Y/N)! (Y/N) wakey wakey..!" A Male voice spoke obnoxiously.

"I'm awake..!" (Y/N) sat up lazily and blinked a few times. "But not for long." She then collapsed back down onto the bed.

Reno sighed and stopped shaking the female. "Come on, the others are already ready to go." He said.

"Go? Where?" She asked, opening her eyes again and struggling to sit up once again.

"Out. Come on!" Reno shoved her one more time before getting up quickly and joining the others who were sliding out of the treehouse.

"Out?" (Y/N) got up and rapidly followed the boys out the treehouse. "Hey! Wait up!" She yelped, pulling on some fresh clothes she'd packed.

Outside...

(Y/N) stood beside Astro. "Sooo," She placed her hands behind her back. Astro glanced at her, he seemed to be dejected by the way he walked. "What's wrong? you cut me off pretty bad last night.." She continued walking behind the group with Astro. (Y/N) was never scared to speak her thoughts to Astro, they were very close so the bond they shared was basically unbreakable, and even if something did happen between them, they would always figure it out with words.

"I was just tired." Astro shrugged while facing away from her. "That's all." (Y/N) frowned at his nonchalant statement, it must've been something she did, something wrong that might have offended him because he was lying, and it was easy to tell.

"I-.." She paused for a moment. "Okay... Sorry to bother you." She smiled sadly and jogged up the to other three boys.

"Oh! Hey, (Y/N)." Reno wrapped his arm around the shorter girl and smiled. Boy, has he got a contagious smile. "Hey what's wrong? You seem all tired, did you go to sleep last night?" He asked.

"Yeah, yeah. I did." (Y/N) nodded as her half-smile turned into a frown. "It's just, I don't think Astro is interested in me. I gave him hints, and I think I scared him off.."

"Well, you might not have him. But you've got me. I'll always be here for you." Reno moved his hand down to hold (Y/N)'s. She went immediately red at his words and actions. She practically froze and didn't say or do anything, but then again she didn't stop holding his hand.

"We made it!" Kennedy grinned and gestured to the open land.

"Made it?" (Y/N) snapped out of her daydream and looked around.

"Yup! The woods! Okay, who wants to be it?" Kennedy asked.

"It? Are we playing a game?" (Y/N) asked, suddenly very intrigued.

"Yup! Hide and seek!" Abercrombie grinned.

"Oh! Well, why didn't you say so?"

The four boys sighed. "We were talking about it all morning.." Alejo grumbled.

ASTRO'S PATH

"Im not it!" (Y/N) stepped back. The others did too and Alejo was the only one left in the middle. He certainly had bad reflexes.

"I guess I'm it then..." He placed his hands over his eyes and started counting, making everyone bolt intro separate directions. Astro, Reno and (Y/N) all had the same idea so they ran to the same place.

"(Y/N)! Come hide with me!" She turned her head to face Reno, who had his hand extended to her. (Y/N) turned to face Astro who had stopped running with them and had turned the opposite direction to hide somewhere else.

"Uhm." (Y/N) had stopped running and Reno stopped after she did. She glanced at Astro then back to Reno. "Sorry! I'm going to hide over there." She gestured over to where Astro sped off. Then she continued to run.

After some time, she could no longer see the robot boy, so she slowed down. "Astro..?" (Y/N) tiptoed around. "Astro can I hide with you..?" She whisper-shouted.

"Ready or not! Here I come!" Alejo's voice echoed through the trees.

"Astro!" (Y/N) called out again, more desperately. "Oh boy..." She looked around for a hiding spot but could only see trees and grass. Suddenly, arms wrapped around her waist and she was suddenly blasted off the ground. After a second or so, she landed on a very tall part of a tree. (Y/N) quickly turned around, trying to see if it was actually Astro, whom she inferred.

"Careful!" He whispered, pulling her back up and pulling her close to his chest so she wouldn't fall.

"Come out! Come out! Wherever you are!" Alejo shouted, cupping his hands around his mouth to make his voice louder.

(Y/N) stayed deathly still. She steadied her breath, well, she tried to. She glanced up at him and then nuzzled her head into Astro's chest feeling like this was the only moment she would ever get to do it.

"H-Hey, what are you doing?" Astro interrogated, slightly pushing (Y/N) away from him, but still had his arms on her shoulders.

"I-I err, I just wanted to be close to you." (Y/N) placed her arms behind her back, and looked down.

"But you can't." Astro turned a scarlet colour, but then he closed his eyes and faced away.

"I don't understand. Why not?" (Y/N) whimpered.

"You and Reno. I don't want you to cheat on him."

(Y/N) froze. "Cheat?" Astro nodded. She gave him a baffled look. Astro noticed this and began to question himself.

"You and him, you're..?" He trailed on, slightly anxious of the answer.

"No!" (Y/N) shook her head rapidly. "No, no. not at all, I don't like him." The way she put emphasis on the word him made Astro feel somewhat hopeful.

"B-But last night. You confessed to him! You both hugged!" He said. He was sure you and Reno had something going on, how could he be wrong??

"I wasn't confessing to him. I was practising!" (Y/N) placed her hand on Astro's and tugged it.

"But when I asked you if you liked anyone, you described him."

"That wasn't him that was you!" (Y/N) placed her free hand on his cheek.

"Me?" Astro asked, he took a moment to processes everything, he then got a jittery feeling in his chest. "Me!" He exclaimed. "You like me!" Astro scooped up is admirer and laid at least 20 kisses on her cheeks, neck and nose.

"Astro!" (Y/N) cried a heated yelp, asking the robot to stop giving her signs of affection. She might have died in his arms if he didn't.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I can't help it. I just.." Astro trailed off as his hands fell to (Y/N)'s.

She looked down and felt her cheeks turn a pink tinge. "Yeah, me too.."

"Can we.. can we share each other's emotions more often?" Astro asked, wanting to experience this all over feeling again.

"And no practising with anyone else.."

"Yeah."

RENO'S PATH

"Im not it!" (Y/N) stepped back. The others did too and Alejo was the only one left.

"I guess I'm it then.." He sighed and started counting, making everyone run away. Astro, Reno and (Y/N) all had the same idea so they ran to the same place.

"(Y/N)! Come hide with me!" She turned her head to face Reno, who had his hand extended out to her. (Y/N) turned to face Astro who had stopped running with them had turned the other way and was going somewhere else.

"Uhm." (Y/N) had stopped running and Reno stopped after she did. She glanced at Astro then back to Reno. "Sure? Why not." She beamed and held his hand allowing her to follow him to wherever he wanted to take her.

"In here!" Reno tugged lightly on (Y/N)'s arm and turned her direction to a tree that had an open hole in the stem, it was just big enough for the two of them to fit.

Once both of them snuggled in and waited a bit, Reno glanced at (Y/N) and decided to make small talk. "So how's it with Astro?" He asked.

(Y/N) frowned. "I don't know.. I tried to tell him last night, but I think he wasn't interested. He shut me down." She hugged herself. "But anyway, I don't think that we're supposed to be sweethearts. It doesn't feel right, now that I think I've found a new person." (Y/N) side glanced at Reno, giving him a small hint.

"So you've changed your target?" He asked, getting hopeful. Unlike Astro, Reno was a little better at picking up hints

"Something like that. It's just, we've acted like a couple for a bit, and with him. It just feels right." (Y/N) smiled to herself, playing with her thumbs. "You know what I mean?"

"Yeah.. I think I do.." Reno drifted over to (Y/N) and casually held her hand while looking the other away.

"At least you're picking up my hints." (Y/N) leaned her head on his shoulder.

"I've been giving you hints for a while now, you're as blind as a bat when it comes to flirting." Reno snickered.

"Hey!" (Y/N) gasped and smacked his side.

"What?? It's true!" He smirked, brushing off the punch.

"Don't tease me!" (Y/N) started to glow a dark pink.

"Come on.. you know you love me." Reno wrapped his arm around (Y/N) pulling her close so she could rest her head on his chest.

"You know you love me too.." (Y/N) clicked back, allowing him to guide her to his chest.

"I do."
