✮ Astro Boy x ESP Reader // The Moment I Saw You (Part 1)

YOUR P.O.V

As I walked to school, I looked down at my feet. Nothing interesting was around me, only dark and blank fellow school mates. They tried to keep their distance from me, this turned into a circle of emptiness surrounding me. Not even the students rushing to class dared to enter the circle.

As usual, I felt the insignificant stares and whispers of others towards me. I couldn't hear them, but I didn't need to. I walked with my hands in front of me, holding onto my small bag. As I slowly made my way to school.

OTHER P.O.V

You were a rather adorable baby, even your tears from your first breaths were pure and innocent. Your mother cried in happiness as she hugged her pride and joy in her arms, you were such a gift. And she loved you.

"(Y/N)... (Y/N)." Your mother shook you gently. "Good morning." She spoke, her soft voice soothing you from your slumber. "Breakfast is ready." She told.

You stirred in your bed and turned around to face her, you little eyes open and closing slowly. "What's for breakfast?" You asked, sitting up.

"I guess you'll have to find out." She cooed.

"I know!" You raised your little toddler hand. "Bacon and pancakes!"

"Huh?" Your mother turned to you with wide eyes. "You guessed right!" She told, not thinking much of it.

"Yay!"

You sat at the table in the morning, eating away at you breakfast like a little hungry monster. "Would you like some coffè honey?" You mother asked your father.

"Yes, that sounds good." He nodded.

"Mama, daddy says he'd rather have tea." You corrected, then took another bite of your food. Your mother looked at you, then to her husband.

"Is that true, honey?" You mother asked.

"Oh, well... I'm not sure how you knew that (Y/N)." Your father chuckled. You tilted your head to the side.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" You placed your hand in a peace signs as your small friend flattened hers to resemble paper.

"Yay! I win!" You cheered, throwing your hands up. "You're it!"

"That's not fair (Y/N)! You always win!" Your 10 year old friend cried.

"Of course it's fair, it's Rock Paper Scissors!" You smiled.

"You're good at this game (Y/N)." Your teacher remarked. "Why don't you try me? The queen of rock-paper-scissors."

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

Your teacher cried out a fake cry from loosing, making all the kids giggle.

"It's easy." You told. "You're all saying what move you'll make."

"Huh?"

"Mama! Daddy! Look look!" You turned around to show off a small (F/C) bag. "Grandfather bought it for me!"

"It's adorable (Y/N)." Your mother smiled. Putting down the book she was reading.

"Yeah, you sure have grown." Your father stated, moving in the couch to get a better look at you.

"Hey..! Don't call me shorty!" You whined. Your parents looked at you in confusion.

"Hey, do any of your have a boy you like?" Your friend, Taylor, asked.

"N-No way!" Wanda said.

"Boys are so immature." Kelly stated, shrugging. "Right, (Y/N)?"

"Why are you all lying?" You questioned, to which all your friends went 'eh?' "Taylor, don't you like Tony? And Wanda likes Finn and Kelly... Oh! Kelly likes Tony too!"

Kelly turned to Taylor. "Kelly, you like Tony?!" Kelly put her hands up in defence.

"N-No!" She said. "I don't like any boys!"

"Kelly has liked him since high school, right?" You said.

"I-I never said that!" Kelly stuttered.

"I.. I don't like Finn." Wanda held her hands close to her heart.

"You've liked him ever since he helped you up when you fell, right?" You smiled.

Your friends all turned to you with wide eyes.

"What are you talking about?" Some of the class boys came up to you.

"Hey, that's great!" You smiled. "Finn likes Wanda too!"

"Eh?! I do not!" Finn shook his head. "I don't like Wanda at all!"

Wanda's eyes started to water and she let out small noises as she began to cry. Finn stiffened, he didn't know what to do. "(Y/N)! I hate you!" Wanda cried, pushing past you and running away.

"I never want to see you again (Y/N)!" Kelly yelled, turning away and walking after Wanda.

"We're not friends anymore!" Taylor said, following Kelly.

"(Y/N) is a compulsive liar?" Your mother asked, her eyes wide.

"Yes... you see, she often makes up things." Your teacher told.

"That can't be.." Your mother looked down.

"Some of her classmates have been hurt, an we've received numerous complaints from their parents." The teacher pushed up his glasses.

"I'll let you deal with that." Your father straightened his tie.

"But honey.." Your mother started.

"Isn't raising a child the mothers job?" He questioned. He then walked off to their bedroom. "I've got an early start tomorrow. I'm going to bed."

Your mother pulled you across with her her hand squeezing your tiny wrist.

The doctor sighed and rubbed his chin. "What could this be..?" He asked himself out loud.

Again, your mother dragged you along to another doctors appointment.

"Your daughter is perfectly normal." Another one said.

Your mother was now annoyed, she pulled you along to another doctor.

"There's nothing more I can do." The nurse said.

The sound of your mothers heals became deafening as she barely cared if you tripped, she wanted to know what was wrong with her child.

"Wait-!" Your mother cried.

"Please, just leave." A nurse pushed your mother out of the doctors.

"Mama, am I sick?" You pointed to yourself and looked up at your distressed mother. Your mother looked down at you in sadness.

"No one will play with me." Your cried to your mother. "Everyone says I'm a creepy girl who says strange things." Your tears burning your soft cheeks.

Your mother put her arms up, not knowing how she should deal with your sadness. Her phone then began to ring, she took it out in annoyance. "Honey, when are you coming home?" She asked with a mean tone. Your crying was in the background of the call. "We need to talk about (Y/N)!"

"I told you that taking care of (Y/N) is your job." Your father said. "Also, I don't think I'll be able to make it home for work tonight." He then hung up.

"Honey?! Honey!!" Your mother called his name.

"Something evil has possessed my daughter!" You mother said the the priest, she looked half insane. "Please, do something to exorcise it!"

The man frowned. "I can't help you.. I am merely a simple monk." He said.

Your mother laid on the couch, as drink as ever, with still a bit of wine in her glass. "Why... why my only child?" She asked.

"Mama." You said, hugging your night plushie in your arms. "Daddy will come home tomorrow." You told, your smile was sweet and innocent.

"Shut up!" Your mother yelled. "Whose fault do you think this is?!" She thew her wine glass and it hit the ground next to you, the shattering made you tense up. Your mother tensed up at what she had done, she looked at you, you were scared and tears began to well up in your eyes. Your mother frowned and turned away from you. You stood there, shaking away.

You sat in your grandfathers arms, looking out from in his mansion. "Grandpa, lately, mama's been drinking a lot and getting mad easily." You told your elder. "And daddy won't even come home." You sniffled and let hot tears stream down your face. "Mama, daddy, and my friends.. Do they all hate me?" You questioned.

"Silly girl." Your Grandfather rested his hand on your head. "You know that's not true."

You giggled and ran down the halls of your house, right to the living room where your father sat, reading the newspapers. You jumped into his arms. "You'll spend the entire day with us! Right?" You asked, a big grin on your face.

"I'm sorry (Y/N), I have to go out this evening." Your father told. You then frowned, pulling away from the hug.

"I've got plans as well." Your Mother said.

"Daddy, you're going to a hotel with Harley?" You asked.

"Wha--" Your father flinched.

"And Mama, you're going to have dinner with Mister Tezuka! No fair!" You cried, smiling a little. "I'm going too!" Your Mothers eyes widened.

"What is she talking about, honey?!" Your mother stood up, throwing down her magazine.

"I-I don't know any women by that name!" He said, standing up. "And what about you? Who is this man?!" He demanded, pointing at you mother.

"You have to believe me, honey!" Your mother placed her hand on her chest. "She's just spouting nonsense and.."

"Again?" Your father and mother both turned down to look at you. "You're doing it again?!"

"That's cruel (Y/N)!" Your mother shrieked. "How badly must you destroy our lives before you're satisfied?!"

"Daddy... Mama.."

"Wait, (M/N)!" Your Grandfather shouted. Your mother stopped for a moment and looked back at you with your grandfather. "You're leaving her as well?" He shouted. "What will you do about (Y/N)?" He demanded. You sniffled.

"Father.." Your mother growled. "I don't care about that girl anymore!"

"What on earth are you saying?!" Your Grandfather wailed.

"Mama, Wait!" You ripped yourself out of your grandfathers grip and ran to your cold and dead parent. "I'll never do anything to upset you again!" You sobbed, clinging onto her leg with a weak hug. "I'll even do the cooking and cleaning!" You looked up at her. "Mama! Please don't go!" You begged. She stood there, lifeless as you pleaded. "Don't go! Don't—"

You suddenly fell back. Your eyes widened as you fell back, hitting the hard and cold ground with a sickening thud. Your mothers hand placed itself back into her jackets pocket. She had pushed you away.

"(Y/N)!" Your Grandfather came to your side, gently lifting you up. "What have you done?!" Your Grandfather hissed at your mother. You sat on the ground, your eyes wide and blank, like a dead person.

Your mother looked down at you, her stares was one of an insane person. "I should never have given birth to you." She told.

Suddenly, the air was forced out of your lungs. You couldn't breathed, you just made a small gasp for breath. Your mother then turned away, and walked out of the threshold.

"Wait! (M/N)!" Your Grandfather let go of you to try to grab your mother, but he stopped.

"(M-M/N)!" The monk from earlier came running beside her, but she continued walking, not stopping for anything, not even her own daughter.

"...rry.." You murmured. Looking down with wide broken eyes. Your father turned to you. "I'm sorry.." You spoke, not moving. "I'm sorry.. I'm sorry.."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Monsters aren't welcome here!" A kid shouted at you.
"I-I'm not.." You turned to the kid that said that.
"She looked at us!" The boy faked a scared expression. "She's going to read your mind!" He cried, grinning.
"That's why your parents abandoned you!" A chubby kid yelled.
Your eyes widened and you began to shake hysterically.
"Monster monster monster!" The kids chanted.
"Stop.. I'm not! I'm not!" You cried.
"Lair!" Your friend yelled. "I always thought something was weird." She stated. "You pretended to be our friend so you could read our mind and laugh at us!" She clenched her fists. Your other friend next to her, had her hands resting on her chest. She was almost crying.
"N-No.." You protested.
"You're horrible!" She yelled. "Never come near us again!" She ordered. "let's go." She turned around and walked off with your other friend.
"Wait! Were best friends! Aren't we??" You called out to them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You walked from from school, still looking down at your feet. All you could remember was all the things you missed out on because you were seen as a 'monster'

You would eat lunch by yourself, be unable to make friends, no one would want to be your partner in sport, students would often whisper about you.

"Meow!" A little voice made you snap out of your thoughts. You placed your bag down at a nearby bench and looked at the box that the noise came from. You bent down and opened it, seeing a white kitten with a brown spot looking up at you. You picked it up.

"Are you alone as well?" You asked. The kitten only meowed in response. A small smile formed on your lips. "I can't hear your voice." You spoke happily, being unable to read its mind. You held it close and hugged it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another day of walking home from school, you had gotten food for your little cat friend. But they weren't in the box. You dropped the bag full of cat food as you stared at the empty box.
"Are you the one who's been feeding that cat?" A middle aged women asked, her voice was rough and she surely wasn't happy. You turned to face her, clenching onto your umbrella. "What a bother." She said. You stared at her with wide eyes. "I took it to a shelter, so it doesn't ever come here again." She then walked off without another word.
You dropped your umbrella, letting the rain fall down your face as tears would soon join it. You stood in the rain for a solid 10 minutes with your pupils dilated. You looked up and let out a scream. Your breath soon left your lungs as you let every last bit of breath you had out. You stop for a moment and clenched your teeth, taking a moment to breath in before letting out a shorter scream. Your legs failed to hold you, and you dropped to the floor, in a puddle of your own tears and rain water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I see. You're transferring?" The principle asked. "Good luck at your new school." He said. 'Finally, we're rid of this troublemaker.' He thought. You bowed your head to him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"My name is (Y/N). Nice to meet you." You greeted your classmates with a straight face. You then started to walk to the back of the classroom where your seat was.
"Hey, (Y/N).." The teacher wanted to stop you so you could say a little bit more about yourself. 'This one's going to be a pain'
"Sorry for being a pain." You apologised.
'What was that? What a freak.'
'Poor Astro, having to sit beside her'
No matter where you go, it'll always be the same. If only everyone would ignore you. Like he is..
The boy you seemed to be sitting next to was looking out the window, he had a weird hairstyle, but you didn't pay much attention to it, after all, hair gel can do weird things these days.
As you found yourself entering his mind, a small girl in pink with strange hair, like his, was in a kitchen, making a mess everywhere. She then looked at Astro and multiplied. 'BIG BROTHER!' They all called to him.
You were snapped out of his thoughts to just stare at him for a second. He was thinking about such a strange thing. Noticing you stopping, he turned to you. He was just daydreaming.
"Huh? Who are you?" He asked.
"Eh?" Suddenly, the world of darkness and depression collapsed around you. Everything suddenly seemed brighter when you had met him.
