I find the cover to be very fitting for this novel! It's elegant, simple and the font is spectacular.

The title is very unique—not quite something I've come across before.

✰ blurb
What a lovely blurb! I really enjoyed the little snippet of the novel that you put at the beginning—it made me wonder what the secret could be! The blurb told us what we needed to know before going into the story without giving too much away and that's what makes a great blurb.

✰ characters
Eloise is so young! She went through something that I can't even imagine going through and she was just a child when it happened. This is what makes her a strong character and we see that right from the start of the novel in the prologue. Her family was taken away from her, yet she still puts on a brave face and I thought that was so admirable of her. Then she's thrust into this world of high-class society and must uphold the family name at the age of eighteen, which is a lot to have to deal with at eighteen if you ask me. When I was eighteen, I was a deer caught in the headlights in college. Although, she may be a little naive when it comes to love and I can't blame her for it because I've been there too sigh~ I do think she's a great character though, and I can't wait to read more about her.

Faulke is a very interesting character with a deep backstory that I have yet to see. I want to know more about him! Hopefully, in the upcoming chapters, more shall be revealed. His relationship with Eloise has piqued my interest and I also can't wait to see more of their interactions.

✰ plot
This is such a unique plot. I'm a sucker for historical romances so I might be a little biased, but I do think you've made this plot entirely your own. I think the added mystery element of what actually happened to Eloise's family just adds so much more to the plot as well. It's truly great!

✰ pacing
I thought the pacing was outstanding. The chapters aren't too short or too long, and I can read through them without an issue. The flow of your story is also really great, nice work!

✰ grammar/language
I thought you had great imagery throughout your chapters, however, I do wish there were a little more descriptions of how the characters look. Trust me, I'm terrible at descriptions (it's something I'm working on), but I do think it'll enhance your story even more so!

I also thought the dialogues were very well-written. Dialogue is such a difficult thing for authors to nail, but you did such a good job at it.

As for grammar, I did see maybe one or two mistakes, but they can easily be fixed by proofreading through the chapters! Your language was very easy to follow and the old style of writing was truly amazing too.

✰ overall thoughts
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this story! I plan on continuing it because I really want to know what happened to Eloise's family and what exactly Delend's true motives are (whether if he truly loves Eloise or if he's just saying that he does). Your writing is spectacular and I can't wait to read more!
