Around noon nakabalik na sila Joaquin sa Yatch Club, they are all at the pool side for the lunch buffet. Mga nakahawaiian outfits ang mga ito. Pagpasok nila sinuotan ng mg lei sa leeg ang mga lalaki at ang mga babae naman bracet at head dress. Kinukuhanan sila ng litrato kapag pumasok na sa pool side area.

Kit:  Nasaan na kaya sila Mommy?

Joax:  hindi ko din nakita sila Dad sa bistro eh.

Lumapit ang  Manager ng Subic Bay

Manager: Sir Kit, the lunch buffet is now ready to serve you. Nagpasabi po ang Mommy ninyo na nagbibihis lang daw po sila.

Kit:  Oh ok!  Everyone lunch is served.  Go, help yourself.

Naupo sila Joax sa pinakadulong table. Magkakatabi sila nila Baste, Robby, Sheryl, Irene at Kit. Parehong naka flowered na two-piece si Sheryl at Irene, si Sheryl may katernong flowered skirt, si Irene naman naka grass skirt.  Hinihintay nilang dumating ang mga magulang para kumain.  

Nagdatingan na sila Mr. Chua and Mrs. Chua, Mr. and Mrs. Benitez, Mr. and Mrs. Falcon, Mr. & Mrs. Gatchalian at si Tito Rod at Nanay Berna, nakamahabang bulaklakin na bestida ang mga babae at naka flowered na polo shirts ang mga lalake pero nakapantalon.

Sheryl:  Look, ang cute nila Nanay at Tito Rod.

Joax:  O nasan ang Daddy?

Kit:  O ayan na sila Mommy at  Daddy.  Talagang nageffort ng outfit ha, dinaig tayo.

Robby:  Ayon si Tito Rick nasa dulo at may kasamang dalawang sexy

Matapos suotan ng mga lei's huminto sila Daddy Rick, Janine at Maya para kuhanan ng litrato. Noon lang nila nakilala kung sino ang kasama ni Ricardo.

Kit: That's Maya and Janine! They made it!

Napatayo si Joax, pinagmasdan ang babaeng nasa kanan ng kanyang ama. Sexy ang paglakad nito sa suot na flowered stilettos. Naka white and green flowered midi blouse na nakabuhol sa gitna at ang katernong maikling skirt. 

Daddy Rick:  Kit, look who's here.

Tumayo si Kit at lumapit sa mga ito. Nagbeso si Janine kay Kit at bumati ng happy birthday. Niyakap naman ni Kit at humalik sa pisngi niya si Maya. Bumulong si Kit.

Kit:  Lagot ka kay Joaquin ang sexy ng suot mo.

Maya:  Happy Birthday!

Natawa si Maya.  Isinama na ni Kit ang dalawa sa mesa nila.  Tumayo si Joax, Irene, Robby, Sheryl at Irene ng makitang palapit na sila. 

Maya at Janine:  Surprise!!!

Nagtawanan sila.  Nagbeso ang mga ito sa isa't isa.  Niyakap ni Joax si Maya.

Joax:  This is indeed a lovely surprise.

Maya: Liked it?

Joax:  Loved it!

Sheryl:  I like your outfit at ang pagproject sa stilettos hindi ko kinaya.

Irene:  Happy that you could make it. Babe, let's have a picture.

Kit:  Oo nga since kumpleto na tayo, picture taking na.

Pagkatapos kumuha na sila ng pagkain. Si Joax sa bewang ni Maya laging nakahawak. Pabalik na sana sila Maya sa upuan ng tawagin siya ni Mr. Benitez

Mr. Benitez: Maya!

Maya:  Yes, Tito Ken?

Mr. Benitez:  Come here Hija. 

Lumapit sila ni Joax sa lamesa ng mga ito.

Mr. Benitez:  Maya, Joax, I want you to meet my son and daughter.  This is Kraig and his girlfriend Brenda and this is Krystal and her boyfriend, Joel.

Maya: Nice to meet you.

Nagbeso si Maya at nakipagkamay si Joax.

Mr. Benitez:  Next bowling game Maya, kasama ko na sila.

Maya:  Tito naman, baka lalo akong matalo niyan eh.

Nagtawanan sila, ilang palitan pa ng kwento nakaalis din sila.  Nasalubong naman nila si Mr. Falcon.

Mr. Falcon:  You, young lady owe me a drink later.

Maya:  Tito Eric, I can't afford to buy you your drink.

Mr. Falcon: and what is that drink?

Maya:  at the looks of you, that would be Henri IV Cognac. OMG that's 2 million dollars.

Ang lakas ng tawa ni Mr. Falcon.

Mr. Falcon:  Ok, just promise me a drink later ok.

Maya:  Of course Tito, as long as Joaquin permits it.

Mr. Falcon:  don't worry I'll take care of him.

Tinapik ni Mr. Falcon si Joax sa balikat. Pagupo nila narinig ni Joax ang kwento ni Janine na kanina pa sila dumating at sinamahan ni Maya na magbowling sila Daddy Rick.

Joax: Kanina pa pala kayo, why didn't you call me.  Para bumalik na lang ako dito.

Maya:  and what, ruin the surprise?  Besides I think it was a good idea rubbing elbows with the high ups.  I've got myself a pretty good back up just in case.

Kit:  Right you are Maya!  That was a smooth move.

Maya: I just did my homework that's all.

Dumaan si Tita Vicky.

Tita Vicky:  Maya, don't forget, we have an appointment with the chef at 3pm.

Maya:  Yes, Tita at the Bistro at 3pm.

Sheryl:  What was that all about?

Maya: we will meet the chef para sa dinner menu tonight.  May problema ata eh, I said I'll try to help.

Irene:  you're close with Tita  Vicky? Maya, alam mo ba kung anong pinagdaanan ko bago ako kinausap ni Tita Vicky?

Maya:  Well, akala mo lang yon Irene. Alam mo no woman is good for your boyfriend's mother. First time I met her, she thanked me for saving you don sa bar. Syempre hindi niya ipapakita sa yo na she likes you, ganon talaga yon, inagaw mo na nga ang atensyon ng anak niya eh syempre pakontrabida effect siya.

Nagtawanan sila. Bumulong si Joaquin...

Joax:  I think you're nailing this. Thanks Hon!

Hinaplos ni Maya ang pisngi ni Joax.

Maya:  All for you, pero its still to early to tell. Baka mamaya pumalpak ako.

Dumaan si Bea, kinalabit ni Janine si Maya at inginuso. 

Sheryl:  That's Bea.

Maya:  Ah siya ba?

Joax:  Yah, she asked me to be her date tonight. Ipinagpaalam pa nga ako kay She. I said no.

Baste:  His exact words were, kahit anak ka pa ng presidente ng Pilipinas I will still say no.

Nagbungisngisan sila.

Janine:  She is a bitch Maya, she's  used to get what she wants. Anak yan ni Mr. Chua.

Irene: Pati yang si Cassey, pasosyal na ewan. Jobless naman umaasa lang sa pera ng magulang.  if she bitches you out. You tell me.

Maya:  Thanks Irene. Don't worry, I will stay away.

Joax: and don't worry I will be beside you, all the time.

Ngumiti si Maya.  Pagkatapos ng lunch, naglakad-lakad sila sa resort. Nagpapalipas ng busog.

Maya:  May activity ba after this?

Kit:  Wala na, everyone will be preparing for the party tonight pero gusto kong magswimming later around 4. You guys wanna join us?

Maya: Ok lang sa akin, yayayain ko na lang si Tita Vicky a little earlier to talk to the Chef.

Kit:  Bakit may problema ba?

Maya:  No, your mom just wants it to be perfect.

Joax:  we will join you. 

Janine:  Tayo din Baste sama tayo magswimming.

Baste:  Your wish is my command sweetie.

Janine:  Awww he's a darling right?!

Irene:  Yes, he is Janine.

Nagtawanan sila. Bandang alas dos ng mayaya ni Maya si Tita Vicky. Pagpasok nila sa Bistro.

Tita Vicky:  Chef harold, anong problema?

Chef Harold:  Mam, kasi nagcall in sick  yung appetizer Chef namin, hindi ko kakayanin i-ready yung appetizer.

Tita Vicky:  Oh my God! This can't be happening.

Maya:  Tita Vicky, cool ka lang.  Chef, may matatawag ba tayong kitchen helpers?  I can give them the recipe, we can prepare early, tsaka nadadali lang na appetizers. What do you think? 

Chef Harold:  Meron, mam on stand by nga sila, tatlo yun Mam.  Ok then, call them. I'll give them instructions.

Maya:  Tita Vicky, sige na po. Do what you have to do. Ako ng bahala sa appetizers.

Tita Vicky:  You are a life saver.

Pumasok si Maya sa kitchen, pinaglaga ng 50 pcs. na itlog ang isang kitchen helper. Pinagdrain ng canned na malaking tuna ang isa at pinaggisa naman ng beef ang isa pa.

Maya:  ang pinaka mahirap sa appetizer yung preparation. I'll do the mixing tapos bibigyan ko kayo ng sample tapos iprepare ninyo as many as you can. Tatlong appetizer pa lang yan. Pinakamadaling maidadagdag natin diyan friend dumplings, frankfurter slizes, at nachos.

Ngumiti si Chef Harold. 

Chef Harold:  I think that would work. Na-prepare ko naman na lahat ng food. Gawin mo yung mix of the toppings and I will supervise.  I will call you  kapag ipeprepare na namin sa  buffet table.

Four fifteen ng matapos si Maya.  Nagpunta siya sa pool at nakita niya ang mga kaibigan doon. Naupo siya sa gilid ng pool sa tabi ni Joax kung saan nandon ang mga kaibigan.

Maya:  Oh bakit nandyan ka?

Joax: was waiting for you.

Maya: Ang sweet mo.

Tumayo si Joax at hinubad ang polo shirt at walking shorts tumayo din si Maya.

Maya:  Joaquin, nakatwo piece ako, sabi kasi ni Janine, ito daw ang bagay dito eh.

Joax:  Wala ka bang dalang one piece.

Maya: Pwede naman akong magpalit kung ayaw mong magtwo piece ako eh. Guys, magbibihis lang ako ha.

Janine:  Maya, you are wearing a two piece under that clothes, ok na yan.

Maya:  Ano kasi...

Kit:  Oh come on Joaquin, ang KJ mo.

Robby:  Oo nga Joaquin, pagpapalitin mo pa.

Cassey:  well guys, baka naman kasi alam ni Joaquin na hindi bagay kay Maya yung two piece.

Bea:  Bakit Joaquin? Mapapahiya ka ba?

Joax:  Of course not.  Sige Astig, show them what you got!

Maya:  Sure ka?

Joax: Oo naman, kung hindi ako naiinis dyan kay Cassey at Bea eh hindi kita papayagan.  But since they are challenging me, supalpalin mo nga ng kaseksihan mo.

Natawa si Maya.  Tumayo si Joax sa harap ni Maya para matakpan niya ito. Hinubad ni Maya ang shirt tapos ang skirt saka umalis si Joax sa harap nito.

Joax:  O ayan na Kit.

Sumipol si Kit. 

Irene:  Oh my God, Maya. May abs ka, nakakainggit ha.

Briggs:  Kaya naman pala ayaw ni Joax na magtwo piece eh ilalampaso pala kayo ng katawan ni Maya eh.

Nagtawanan sila.  

Joax:  Bea, you think ikakahiya ko yang katawan na yan?

Kyle:  No way Joaquin! In the words of a sailor, You've got yourself one great catch!

Geline:  You are in good shape Maya, cool. Share your secrets.

Maya:  Thanks Geline!  Try ninyo magbuhat ng mga kaing-kaing na gulay everyday and sparing sa boxing.

Nagtawanan sila. 

Joax:  Sira ka talaga!

Lumangoy sila at nagkwentuhan habang nasa pool. Nandoon na din ang lahat ng iba pang bisita. Ipinakilala ni Kit ang mga ibang kaibigan niya kila Maya. Maayos namang nagkukwentuhan at nagbibiruan ang mga ito.  Hanggang sa magumpisa si Bea.

Bea:  I heard you work sa wet market before?

Maya: Still do.

Bea:  How unglamorous. 

Nagtawanan sila Cassey at Bea. Kumunot ang noo ni Joaquin. Nakikinig lahat sa paguusap ng mga ito.

Maya: yah unglamorous, but I am proud of it. Sa palagay mo Bea saan namamalengke yung katulong mo ng inihahain niyang masarap na pagkain sa lamesa mo?

Bea:  Sa groceries of course.

Maya:  Did you know, it is the same thing? Hinugasan lang at inilagay sa magandang packaging. You can ask Kyle. He is the supplier up north, galing sa farm nila Joaquin ang isinusupply niya sa mga groceries na binibilhan mo.

Tumingin si Bea, kay Kyle.

Kyle:  She is damn right.  Mas less expensive nga lang if you buy them at Maya's store because you are not paying for the packaging but it is still the same thing.

Irene:  Next time, you open your mouth to insult anybody Bea, I suggest you better make a research first.

Lalo silang nagtawanan, pati ang lahat ng mga naroroon. Pero ayaw tigilan ni Cassey at Bea si Maya. Talagang gustong ipahiya si Maya.

Cassey: Irene, Lasalle graduate ka di ba?

Irene:  Yes, Tourism major in International Languages.

Cassey:  Ikaw, Janine?

Janine:  UST grad, Marketing.

Cassey:  You Sheryl?  

Sheryl:  Lasalle Alabang, Business Ad major in Management. 

Cassey:  Ikaw din Maya? Lasalle Alabang din?

Maya:  Yup, BS Secretarial Administration - Junior Secretarial.

Cassey:  That's a two year course? Right?

Bea:  Hindi ka graduate ng four year course?

Maya: Nope. 

Bea: What a shame!

Sheryl:  She has nothing to be ashamed of, because she did not continue just to make sure I can finish college. Maya, is a working student then, she worked while studying to pay for both her's and my tuition fee. 

Geline:  Yah, we should be ashamed, tayo nakaasa lang sa mga magulang natin.

Kyle:  I second the motion.

Irene:  Besides she might not finish the four years course at least she is putting what she learned in two years to good use.  She always remembers her manners.

Bea:  Are you insinuating something Irene.

Irene:  Bakit tinatamaan ka ba?  You act as if you are superior to anyone here but you're not.  You are just the same as everyone around here. You are you because, you are your parents daughter that's it.  Gusto mong ipahiya si Maya, why?  Because you cannot accept that Joaquin fell for someone like her and not you?

Bea:  of course not! she's not even on the same level  as me.

Joax:  Yes, she isn't. She's more than who you are Bea.

Maya:  and I don't want to be on same level as you are Bea.  Believe me I don't.  I am not born with a golden spoon like you are and that is a fact.

Bea:  yon naman pala eh, why are you here?

Maya:  Ikaw, why are you here? You are not even a member of the Yatch club right? So, you are also here as a guest like I am and the rest of the people around you. You don't own this part of the world you know.

Nakaangat ang kilay ni Maya. 

Maya:  Pero pagbibigyan ko kayo ni Cassey.  You seem to both think that I don't deserve to be here even if the birthday celebrant is a friend of mine, just because I am not rich like everyone else is.  Bakit, ano bang nagagawa mo na hindi ko kayang gawin?

Natigilan si Bea, tumingin kay Cassey.  

Cassey: You don't have class.

Maya: Meaning?  

Bea:  You don't know anything about rich people.

Maya:  Your father is rich right? I know for a fact that his business started in Ongpin, Manila way back in 1972, he's first shop was called Hong-chua Jewelries that's the first ever shop he has. Now, the company is called Chua Jewels and he has 8 branches in the Philippines. Cassey, your father owns one of the largest manufacturers of dairy products in the Philippines under the name New Flavor House Inc.

Cassey:  You probably read that in the magazines.

Maya:  I know for a fact that you are wearing a blue jade ring from australia that's probably around 1, 300 us dollars and that swim suit you're wearing Bea is a Tori Praver Monokini. 

Hindi nakaimik si Bea dahil tama si Maya

Maya: Kit, you are wearing an Emporio Armani right?

Kit:  That's true.

Maya: Irene  is wearing a Gucci Mesh Bikini.

Irene:  You're good Maya, that's right.

Napapangiti si Joax.

Maya:  ang mga mayayamang katulad ninyo kapag nagkakape it would either be at starbucks. seattle's best or dulcinea. I know for a fact that the size of the drinks at starbucks in the Philippines are smaller because the largest one in the US is Trenta.

Kyle:   I am a starbucks addict and I didn't know that.

Natawa si Joax.

Maya:  I can carry a conversation in english and I am sure I can be as glamorous as you are if I try to be. All it takes is a Michael Cinco gown, hair and make up made by Christophe of Beverly Hills and wears a prada and a scent of Tova.  Are you catching my drift?

Briggs:  That was an american and canadian accent in one. Maya, you are surprising!

Bea:  No puedes hablar ningún otro idioma (You cannot speak any other language)

Cassey: Dudo que ella pueda (I doubt that she can)

Baste:  Teka, ano daw? Spanish yan di ba?

Kit: Sabi ni Bea, hindi daw marunong si Maya magsalita ng ibang language. sabi naman ni Cassey, I doubt that she can.

Maya: Entendí lo que dijiste, puedo hablar otros tres idiomas si quiero. ¿Quieres que hable francés o italiano?  

Irene:  Way to go Maya! sabi ni Maya, "I understood what you said, I can speak three other languages if I want to. Do you want me to speak french or italian."

Maya:  Ho capito quello che hai detto, posso parlare altre tre lingue se voglio. Vuoi che parliate in francese o in italiano?

Irene:  Maya just said the same thing  in Italian

Maya: J'ai compris ce que vous avez dit, je peux parler trois autres langues si je le veux. Voulez-vous que je parle français ou italien.

Irene:  she just said it in French.  Maya, je suis impressionné ( I am impressed)

Maya: Merci, je les ai tous appris pour l'amour de Joaquin.

Joax:  Wait, I heard my name, what did Maya just said Irene?

Irene:  Sabi niya, Thank you, I learned them all for the love of Joaquin.

Joax:  That's why I love you, you do everything which is near impossible just for me.

Niyakap ni Joax si Maya.

Briggs:  You rule Maya!

Maya:  I rest my case.

Kit:  You didn't have to prove yourself to anyone Maya,  if there is anyone that is worthy to be here it is you because you have proven a long time ago that you are a true friend.

Maya:  Thanks Kit!

Baste:  Tapos ang boxing, may nanalo na!

Nagtawanan  sila.  Umahon na sila Kit, Irene, Baste, Janine, Joax at Maya sa pool. Paakyat na si Robby at Sheryl... nilingon ni Robby at Sheryl sila Cassey and Bea.

Robby:  I suggest, you back of... because you don't know her.  

Sheryl:  Believe me when I say, kung kaya niya kayong ilampaso just by mere words mas lalong kaya niya kayong ilampaso sa sahig ng literal.
