In which Jim Kirk falls in love with his former best friend who is currently a doctor for Starfleet, but he just remembers her as the girl who used to beat him in Asteroids.

James Kirk meets his best girl at a bar after she goes missing for a few years only to find out she went to Starfleet after graduating high school at sixteen.

Little does he know, Faye is no longer that playful girl who sat in shotgun when he stole his stepdad's car or the girl who secretly used to get jealous when he was with other girls. She isn't the girl he practiced his first kiss on and stole her cherry chap-stick because he wanted to keep the taste he loved to himself. But, she is the girl he used to get distracted staring at when they played Asteroids. Because he's still distracted by her and he's yet to realize that all along, he's loved her.  

But Faye isn't making anything easy on him. She never has and she isn't starting now. After all, she was the girl who used a magazine to double check her feelings on her rebellious best friend up until she realized that he may never love her and she'd rather stop fighting for his attention. But at school, he was all she could think about until he comes back into her life to attend school at the prompting of her pseudo-father.

He's determined to be a captain, but he's also determined to win her over, just like he should've all those years ago to make her stay.

The only problem?

Her will and lack of emotions make her as difficult to sway as those asteroids they used to shoot down.

Faye and Jim are going to ruin my life, I can feel it in the pits of my soul. My precious children, someone push me off a cliff before they can consume me. This book is dedicated to everyone who has ever wrote a Star Trek fanfic and also, to Anton Yelchin. Also, there's a bit of a twist to Phaedra's story, as she takes the surname of her mother, not her father. As to who her father may be, you'll just have to hang tight and see. After all, her father knows who she is, but she doesn't know who her father is, and he's not someone who died on the U.S.S Kelvin. Feel free to guess who he is as time goes on.
