1 [Formalities]
Looking outside the window pane, all you could see were buildings, buildings and even more buildings. Buildings who held people going about their day, working and earning. Everyday was the same boring, boring routine. Nothing ever changed, day in and day out.
If only something interesting could happened for once.
"Mr Ackerman," I didn't bother to face the speaker, "It is time for your meeting."
"Very well," I replied, turning to my personal assistant, "Lead the way, Jaeger." Slightly bowing, he opened my office door for me as I exited. He closed the wooden door as I began to walk down the long corridor, "You don't have to be so formal you know. It's just me."
"And that is exactly why I am being this formal." I sighed as he continued. "I've known you for a very long time, sir, but that is no reason to be disrespectful."
"You're not being disrespectful, Jaeger," I stopped my strides, pivoting around, "We have been over this. It's just me."
Pursing his red lips, he stared at me uncertain, "We must get going. You are going to be late, Mr Ackerman."
Sighing, I lazily headed toward the meeting room, hearing a pair of footsteps following from behind me, "Yeah, yeah."
Annoyed was what I was during the meeting, and my assistant could clearly see that that was the case. With my fist resting against my cheek, I rolled my eyes in annoyance. I've honestly lost count of how many times I've done that for the past hour and a half.
"Mr Ackerman, we should really fix the problem with one of our sponsors soon, or else we'll lose one of our most important resources!" A colleague of mine spoke with urgency.
"But to do that would cost us a lot of money and might jeopardize the company's income greatly." Another argued.
Tired of their worthless argument, I cut in, "Either way, it will cost us a great amount of this company's wealth. Do not fret, I will figure something out and propose it at our next meeting which will be held next week. You're dismissed."
As soon as I was finished speaking, everyone in the room began to pack away their documents that had been sitting in front of them into their briefcases. Not making a move, I watched and waited until only Jaeger and I were the only ones in the room.
"Jaeger." I called.
"Yes, Mr Ackerman?"
Adjusting my tie, I spoke, "I'll be leaving early today. I'm tired and very annoyed of the events of today, meaning that you're allowed to leave early as well."
"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir."
"There's no need to thank me, Jaeger." I hesitated, "Eren."
A grin suddenly appeared on the young man's face as he dashed towards the double doors of the office. Opening them, he turned back to me to show me his wide smile, "See you tomorrow then, Mr Ackerman."
I nodded, slightly confused of his sudden smile, "See you tomorrow."
"Levi Ackerman." He nodded, closing the door behind him before I could respond, still holding his warm grin.
I leaned on the desk as I gazed at the closed doors, "Eren Jaeger."
