13 | Recourse
Prompt: It soon becomes conspicuous that no matter what you or anybody else does, there is absolutely no way to persuade Karma Akabane to attend class over his tendency of playing truant, for his visits are out of his own volition. Although his delinquent, hooky-like actions are frequently frowned upon, the teenager couldn't care less about his reputation, while his academic grades-- the prominent fuel of Kunugigaoka Junior High-- are naturally beyond that of an average student.
What do you do?
Recourse #1: Continue, for trying harder may grant your hopes and wishes of success.
Recourse #2: Capitulate, for convincing the boy is futile, anyways.
Recourse #3: Collaborate, for if you can't beat them, join them.
Recourse #4: Charge, for when all else fails, physical assault is necessary.
It was a no-brainer that your arguably pigheaded psyche sided with Recourse #1, as the third and fourth options were silly, inappropriate, and irrationally out of your league.

A spiraling sensation of unease swarmed your muses as you sat in first period, beginning yet another typical Monday morning in Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka. Time was a fleeting essence, far too fugitive for you to be pondering the absence of a certain redhead once more. Despite the events of the previous weekend, which transpired hours and hours before, the fun times apparently hadn't lured out the absentee-- tough luck. Although he hadn't promised to attend, the no-show behavior abnormally bothered you, more so than usual.
It wasn't the lack of his presence and personality that inconvenienced you (as you could definitely survive without his antics), rather, it was more that he was deliberately skipping. Intentionally ditching out internally irked you, since school was still school, and the value of entertainment should not have outweighed its educational counterpart, no matter how intelligent the boy was.
What happened to his proposal from the ice cream parlor, anyways? Supposedly, he did have a plan for Koro-sensei's assassination.
Averting your gaze towards the monster, who harbored the same toothy smile as he instructed his in-depth home economics lesson, the octopus outwardly seemed quite content with everything, despite his disapproval of the truant last week. You assumed that you were still on the same boat, along with Nagisa and Kaede.
Shortly after, you darted your eyes towards the empty desk and chair situated several seats to your right, taking in the lack of flesh and bones. Even further down, sat Terasaka, who happened to be spending his time subtly messing around with the 'tentacle' calligraphy plastered on the walls of the classroom. All in all, the back row was rather empty and isolated.
It honestly didn't help anybody that Karma was absent, not at all-- or so you initially thought, though in reality, it actually saved a handful of people from humiliating pranks, whoever his unfortunate victims were. You figured that he would have to show up sooner or later, given that a single student could only be away so many times before the faculty reprimanded and meddled in the matter themselves.
"Alright, class! I believe it's time to get started on your dishes. Nurufufufu~ Please, partner up, and I wish you all the best of luck!" The octopus' voice was as jolly as always, while students rose from their seats, chit-chattering and inviting their closest seatmates to pair up with.
Your eyes frantically shifted around the classroom as duos were rapidly formed. You felt most comfortable with Kaede and Nagisa, though the two of them respectively paired up with each other, from what you could discern from your seat. You hadn't acquired the chance to socialize with most of your other classmates, however, you figured that the assignment would serve as a fitting opportunity to do so.
"Hey, [Name]-chan! Wanna be partners?"
Your worries were immediately resolved. The opportunity seemed to come to you, or rather, it was already bluntly in front of you. The girl whose seat was directly ahead of yours, Sumire Hara, piped up, with a motherly smile stretched across her lips, and a kind gleam in her dark brown pupils. Her hair was always tied up in the same, noticeable style: a ponytail.
Naturally, you instinctively agreed without a moment of hesitation, returning the warm and affectionate smile. "Of course, Sumire-chan!"
"Great! Would it be okay if we crafted cake? My signature dish is Jelly Roll!" Absolute excitement traced the teenager's features, clapping her hands together in pure ecstasy at the mere thought of food, especially when it came to baking sweet delights.
You had no qualms about the offer, as you honestly harbored no preference regarding what was made during the kitchen block. "Absolutely!"
Students shuffled around the set-up classroom, appropriately dressed in aprons. Everybody was relatively spread apart, as there was a station available for each pair to work at. It was nothing short of a miracle that Kunugigaoka's budget permitted equipment for even the lowest of classes, although the difference in quality of paraphernalia between Class A and E still existed.
With that, it appeared as if another genuine friendship blossomed between you and a fellow End Class scholar, which you were authentically thrilled to embrace. You quickly learned of Sumire's knack for cooking, having a remarkable flair and aptitude for home economics.
Sumire handled a fair portion of the work, however, you lent a helping hand when you could, even if your own baking skills were nowhere as spectacular as hers. Three eggs, a cup of granulated sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, some jelly, and most importantly, love and effort among others, spelled out the perfect recipe for a successful jelly roll cake, according to the brunette's expertise.
Truly a motherly figure.
It hadn't taken long for the period to approach its conclusion, as the sponge cake was nearly complete. Fresh from the heated oven, you unrolled the delicacy to cool. Sumire added the finishing touches, such as sprinkling powdered sugar and drizzling a sweet sauce on top.
Nevertheless, it wasn't to say that your kismet was Karma-free for the day, whether that was a good or bad thing. Out of the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of the infamous troublemaker sauntering into the classroom, fashionably late, while holding two fast-food cups in his hands.
His lips tugged into an insouciant grin, innocently peering around the room, before casually making his way towards your direction without a care in the world.

Prompt: It soon becomes conspicuous that a remarkable phenomenon has transpired; Karma Akabane is finally attending class after his supposed break, though whether it is out of his own volition is obscure. His duration of doing so also remains an enigmatic mystery.
To ensure
that this prevails,
what do you do?
