Part 32
Gertrude: Hilda. You're still working here, yes?
Hilda: Sorry ma'am.
Gertrude: Go over to the prince's chambers and do some cleaning in his room.
Hilda: Why can't the other servant boys do it?
Gertrude: They have other matters to attend to. And ooh. Look I found a volunteer right here. So get to it.
(Hilda walks away from Gertrude nodding her head)
Hilda: Why do I have to go to his room...
(hilda has never been in the men's chambers let alone, a prince's)
This is going to be awkward...
(she knocks on the door)
Tristan through the room: Ahh, Soloman. Right on time. Come on in.
(She opens the door and finds Tristan shirtless only wearing half clothing. She stares at him in a cunning way. She had no idea how handsome, attractive he was his attractive muscles his blond hair from the back of his head, with his back turned, he continues talking to the "servant")
So I was thinking today after you are finished, you go ahead and clean our armour and polish the swords. Hand me my dress shirt.
(She does and with his back still turned, he puts on his red shirt over his body covering the upper part)
what's with the silent treatment eh? Are you mad at me?
(Hilda goes silent)
Well whatever it is, I'm sure you will get over it.
(Then he turns around facing her his face spooked)
Hilda! What are you doing here? Where's my servant?
Hilda: He was occupied. So Gertrude sent me.
Tristan: How long were you here for?
Hilda: Long enough for you to say I have to clean your armor and polish the weapons.
Tristan: Well you're not doing that. Its Soloman's job. So again, what are you doing here?
Hilda: Gertrude sent me to do some housekeeping.
(He looks around the room)
Tristan: Very well. You could make my bed, clean my night stand, and my work station needs some cleaning and reorganizing. Don't go through any of important papers. Those are private. If you do, I will see to it you lose your job.
Hilda: You don't have to threaten me. I already know.
Tristan: Good.
Hilda: Do those papers have something to do with Claude?
Tristan: Not your concern.
Hilda: Alright, then.
Tristan: What do you got against the man anyways?
Hilda: Nothing.
Tristan: You had a lot of contempt in your voice. Did he do something to upset you?
Hilda: Does it matter? Tristan: It does if he's harassing you. So is he?
(She changes the subject)
Hilda: I'm gonna go get some cleaning supplies. Be right back.
(She goes out of the room)
Tristan: Huh. That was something.
(She goes and gets the cleaning supplies and comes back to Tristan's room)
Hilda: Alright. I'm ready.
Tristan: Good. I'll be back to check later. Have fun.
(he says sarcastically he leaves and Hilda is by herself making the bed. Before she can get started to making the bed, a person comes into the chambers. Accosting her. She already knows who it is)
Hilda: What do you want Claude? I'm busy.
Claude; You got me drunk last night on purpose. I got in trouble today because of you.
Hilda: Its not my fault you can't control your booze.
Claude: Hmm. Feisty eh? Mmm.
Hilda: What are you doing here anyways?
Claude: You're gonna pay for what you did to me. And I have a pretty good idea, how.
(He looks her up and down)
Hilda: No.
Claude: You do this and I'll leave you alone for good.
Hilda: Get bent.
Claude: hmm. Very well. This bed is dirty. Let me help you clean it.
(He grabs her by her waist, with her fighting back against his strong hard grip. Before she knows it, Claude throws her on the bed. Using his hands to pin her down to her wrists. She screams but Claude puts one hand over her)
Claude: Shut up.
(She tries to fight back against him on top of her)
I'm gonna enjoy this.
(Before the unexpected happens, the door is quickly flung open. Its Tristan. He sees Claude pinning her down and her looking back at Tristan with fear in her eyes. He goes over to Claude)
Tristan: What are you doing to my servant?
Claude: I---I
Tristan: Is this what you've been doing? Did you hurt her? Touch her?
(He asks in a rhetorical manner. Before claude has a chance to speak up, Tristan goes over and gets him off Hilda by grabbing him by his arms. He then grabs him by the collar and pins him by the wall putting one arm over his chest then he looks him in the eye)
Tristan: If you ever dare touch her or look in her direction again, I will end you. Consider this a warning. But for future reference.
(He punches him in the face still pinning him with the other arm)
Do it again, and I'll finish the job. (He let's him go)...Get out.
(Claude quickly runs away like the coward he is. And Hilda quickly gets off the bed)
Hilda: Im sorry. I'll leave now.
Tristan: How long?
Hilda: Pardon?
Tristan: How long has he been doing this?
Hilda: A while...
Tristan: Fucking shite Hilda. Why didn't you say anything?
Hilda: I saw how you trusted him. How he got you to be convinced so easily.
Tristan: He's nothing to me, Hilda. Did he...force you more than once?
Hilda: No. This is the first time. Hes only been harassing me.
Tristan: I'm gonna get the board and confront him about this.
Hilda: No. Tristan, I'll be humiliated.
Tristan: I am on your side, Hilda. Nothing will happen.
Hilda: you don't know that.
Tristan: Stop worrying. Let me deal with it.
Hilda: There's something else you need to know.
Tristan: Later, okay? I'm dealing with this now.
(Cue back to the mess hall with the knights in the whole room. Yhe servants are not attending, nor is Hilda)
Tristan: Let's review shall we?
(He's referring to Claude)
You come to town to "help"
(he does air quotation marks with his fingers)
only when I invite you into my castle, i see you attacking my servant. My worker. A woman who is so loyal to me. I don't have you flogged to death. Who knows if you're doing the exact same to the other servants or other workers in my castle. What? Have you nothing to say? And don't bother denying your allegations. I heard what you said the minute I was leaving. What was it exactly? "'You're gonna pay for what you did. I'm gonna enjoy this'"
Claude; That little bitch got me drunk on purpose last night. It's no wonder I wasn't myself this morning.
Tristan: You're held accountable for your own indiscretions. No one is to blame but you.
Knight: Sire. There is something you should know.
Tristan: Not now, later.
Knight: Please sire. Its important.
Tristan: Later, I said. (He refers back to Claude) Well?
(Claude goes silent)
put him in the dungeons with the rest of those sods. I'll deal with him personally.
(One of the knights grab Claude by his biceps and forcefully escort him out of the room and down to the dungeon chambers)
(Hilda secretly passes the chambers and goes on over to Claude's private room. She closes the door slowly behind her so she doesn't get caught being in another person's room she sits on the bed and takes a look under and sees Claude's suitcase. She pulls it out from underneath and puts it on the bed. Inside of it, she finds clothes on top, then moves the clothes out of the way, and sees something else...a templar uniform. A templar flag, and the black knife she has seen before...)
Hilda: Who is this man...
(she takes the items off the suitcase, and quickly closes it shut and puts it back where it came from. She goes over to Tristan who is in the mess hall with the other knights discussing the situation with "Claude Deckard" she runs over to him)
Tristan: Hilda?
(He looks at her confused)
Hilda: I found something of Claude.
Tristan: what do you have in your hand?
Hilda: Look.
(Tristan looks at the items)
Tristan: Templar.
Knight: And something else sire.
Hilda: He's not the real Claude deckard.
Knight: Here is the papers to prove it.
(Tristan takes a look at the papers then the items)
Hilda: It appears the real Claude deckard is dead. He was murdered. I wouldn't doubt it, it was him. The imposter who killed him then escaped town.
Tristan: Why didn't you bring this to my attention before?
Knight: You're very known to not listen to reason.
Hilda: We needed solid proof of the allegations. You wouldn't have taken our word for it.
(Tristan shakes his head, clearly upset he's been sharing information with the wrong enemy)
Tristan: Bring him down.
(The knights bring Claude deckard back to the main room then Claude looks down)
Tristan: Who are you working for?
Claude: Hmm?
Tristan: I know you can hear me.
Claude: (He chuckles derisively)
You really are full of naivete arent you?
Tristan: I don't have time for your games.
Claude: But you went ahead and let me into your chambers. Convenient.
Tristan: Cut the bloody shite. Answer my question who do you work for?
Claude: (He laughs) Questions, questions.
Tristan: We have reason to believe you're not who you say you are. Claude: Am I?
(He gets the papers from the table)
Tristan: the real Claude deckard is declared deceased.
Claude: (he laughs again) And it took you this long?
Tristan: What are you talking about?
Hilda: I knew there was something bad about you the minute you stepped in.
(He looks over to the left of Tristan and sees Hilda then he laughs at her face)
Claude: What gave me away? Did you have your suspicions from the start?
Tristan: Answer me this "Claude" Why did one of the workers find these items in your bed chambers?
(He throws them all to the floor) and that initial. What's your real name?
(Claude gets up and glares at Tristan then gives him an evil smile)
Claude: You really are naive aren't you? Both of you as a matter of fact. Very well, since you're asking. Because in the near future, it may not be today or tomorrow but soon, you're gonna bow down to me.
Tristan: What are you on about?
Claude: I'm tired of this persona. It's like wearing a mask that stays permanent.
Tristan: Enough with the bullshite. Claude: Of course sire. As you command. You see, I'm on very important missions. And no doubt, you're gonna know sooner rather than later. I'm not Claude, of course. I'm (pause) Roman Lahzar.
Tristan: The son...of Ulysses Lahzar?
Roman: Indeed.
Hilda: I knew you were an awful person from the start.
(Roman looks at Hilda laughing then stops)
Roman: you're a liar too, aren't you madam? You're not a servant. You're something else. How long are you gonna go on with this facade?
Tristan: Enough.
Roman: Stay out of this, Tristan. I knew I heard of you from somewhere. You look just like him. And I know you have a pretty good idea what I'm going on about.
Hilda: (she scowls at him then pause)
You follow me?
Roman: I didn't need to. I had my guards do some digging on you and my suspicions were correct. Do tell him, "Hilda" or should I say, (pause) Myn Willowdale?
(Tristan looks confused and somewhat upset)
Tristan: What is he on about Hilda?
Roman: You want to tell him or should I?
Hilda: Tristan...I'm...the daughter of an assassin. Asyan Willowdale was my father.
Roman: There. was that so hard?
Tristan: Hilda...how could you?
Roman: Aw so sad. Breaks my heart.
(He says sarcastically)
Hilda: I was gonna tell you. I needed time.
Tristan: I put all my trust in you, trained you, had you be with us during the rescue and this is how you repay me?
Roman: (changes the subject)
You see, Tristan. I am on a mission. I am sure you read about me in the history books. About Asyan killing my father and my search continues but it was all an embellishment. I already knew he was dead. And then I found out he and his wife Hilda, bore a child. And that child is your servant.
Hilda: Tristan...
(Tristan looks at her heartbroken. How could she not tell him about her, and Roman smiles at their dispute)
Roman: And since Asyan isn't here anymore...
(he refers to Hilda then let's out a smile)
I'm here for you, Myn.
(He takes out his sword and counter attacks her but she dodges his attack and quickly steps back grabbing a sword from a nearby table they're seen facing off and staring at each other)
Hilda: After all this time... is that why you've been after me...
Roman: I wanted to see how much fight you have In you. Looks like I was wrong.
(He Hits her with the sword, Hilda dodges sword attack, gentle kick on (Roman) the bottom of the leg nearly to the ankle, both swords make that sword sheath sound when they attempt to kill one another)
Roman: Your skills are awfully weak. I'm more advanced than you are.
Hilda: We'll see.
(Then Tristan comes in with his sword and Roman directs his attention to him staring at him with eye contact then Roman chuckles)
Roman: I see. You're willing to do anything for a traitor. That's why you let me in.
(He lets go of the sword then he goes over to the front door)
But I'll be back. When I do, you better be ready. Tatty-bye! (He closes the door behind him)
Tristan: How could you?
Hilda: I'm sorry, Tristan. I wanted to tell you.
(Tristan gets angry at her and raises his voice at her like never before in a loud roaring manner)
Tristan: I let you inside this castle! I did everything for you! And you go ahead and keep this from me! And you still haven't done anything back for me in return!
(Hilda gets scared of his yelling then she yells back)
Hilda: You're such a hypocrite! You've kept secrets to! And we've never said anything back to you!
Tristan: My family aren't assassins!
Hilda: Just listen for once! You're not listening! Its complicated!
Tristan: It isn't! Being royalty is complicated! Which you know absolutely nothing about!
Hilda: And you know nothing it appears!
(Then it goes silent then he says in a soft voice)
Tristan: I want you out of this castle.
Hilda: You can't be serious Tristan!
Tristan: you're not allowed back here again! Get out!
Hilda: Stop it! You're not acting like yourself! You're not going to kick me out!
Tristan: Better yet, I want you out of the village. And if I ever see you again around here, I'll kill you myself.
Hilda: Tristan. But where will I go?(She tries to talk to him)
Tristan: i don't know. And I don't care. That's your problem now. Get out. Now!
(She looks at him. Apparently emotionless)
Hilda: Fine.
(She leaves the sword on the table and exits out from the front door. Tristan rubs his eyes from the whole ordeal. When Hilda comes out, Harper goes up to her from the back)
Harper: Hilda.
Hilda: Not now, Harper.
Harper: Are you ok? What happened?
Hilda: Go ask Tristan.
Harper: What did he do?
Hilda: I can't stay here anymore.
Harper: Why?
Hilda: I'm banished from this village.
Harper: No. He can't do that. This is your home.
Hilda: Not anymore. Don't negotiate with him okay? Just leave it alone.
Harper: I'm sorry. I'm sad to see you go.
Hilda: Thanks.
Harper: Take care, okay?
Hilda: Yeah.
(When she turns her back from Harper, she stops for a second. Her eyes get watery and she can't help but cry. Letting the tears come out from what just happened she continues to walk away from the castle. And Harper goes over to Tristan)
Harper: You're gonna let her go like that?
Tristan: I don't want someone like her and Roman here again.
Harper: But sire. You're being irrational. I'm sure whatever happened you'll forgive her.
Tristan: Harper, stay out of matters that don't concern you. Unless you want to join her, I suggest you shut your trap.
(Harper looks out the window and sees Hilda disappear. Then Tristan leaves Harper by himself)
Harper: Hilda...
