Chapter 5
Aureole
I knew it. It was a school, and I'm rich. Go me. Can I buy twenty cats now?
Everyone was talking and being so nice now, I guessed that I should keep the conversation going. "Skyline Academy? Lame... now why the heck am I here? And why don't we have any memories?"
That was a good starter, since I got, like, two thousand people talking at the same time. Gives me a headache, but I'm a generous person, you know? I almost laughed out loud at the thought.
The fork was hit against the table again, and it seemed that they enjoyed doing that. I, personally, found it annoying, but then again, I found everything annoying. Like, honestly though, what did the fork ever do to them? It got me on a spiritual level. At this point, all of you people reading this must think I'm really strange and put this book down, or start nodding, and think, 'same'. Oh, well, I'm used to being weird, if you can't take it, that's your problem.
Well, back to the story, well, the person started rambling, and wow, I'm so lazy. Well the head guy started, "well, I would suppose you're at an academy to be educated. It seems like it would be helpful to you."
Did this old principal person just insult me? Well, I don't cope too well with that. I had a great comeback, but if this really was a school I'd rather not get suspended before I knew anything, this could wait for a later day.
"so, you are excused to go to your rooms. We will all meet in a certain room in a while. I will send someone to get personally escort each of you one at a time, so please, do not leave the specific room you woke up in. If you forgot, just go see Mr. Carenfeir," he said pointing to the tailor that brought me here after I, um, broke the vase.
We all left, and there was a rush up the stairs. It seemed as if everyone had felt awkward and wanted to go back to the safe little room with no people they didn't know. Right, names were there, but I already knew my name. the tailor had called me, Miss Aureole, so I spent time thinking about it, and decided it was probably my name. As I opened my room I realized it had that same homely atmosphere, and I collapsed on my bed. I starred at my vanity and it had a folded card placed in a way where it looked like a pyramid, and a single flower, a white lily, underneath. Well, I had guessed right. On the card, in fancy writing, there was written 'Aureole.'
It's not like I'm creative enough to come up with a different name, so I decided to go with it. I'm glad the person said my name, what was his name? Mr. Casenfield? Well, because, I probably wouldn't even know how to pronounce my own name. Wow, this is sad.
I feel like I should freak out and be more horrified about not having any memories, but I feel surprisingly calm. I don't know why though, so instead of thinking about it and killing my already dead brain I turned around and fell asleep.
My first dream of what I remember, it still haunts me to this day. Wait, it still is this day. Sorry. I'll continue on.
"Kill them," the voice of authority flowed through the air of an elderly person who looked like a tree. "they're ready to be disposed of, I don't need to waste any more supplies on them."
"But, sir, your daughter-"
"Do as I say!" he yelled at the already pale servant, making him flinch.
The room didn't change but it seemed to be a few minutes until two people were brought into the chambers. Both had handcuffs, and hoods up making it hard to see who they were, and there was a guard holding them having a dagger in his hand. It was placed closely in between both peoples' necks, in a position making death the only option for moving. Both people started retaliating at the same time, one of them kicking from underneath the guard's legs, then the other going for the dagger, but they were too late. The dagger struck straight through one of their necks and their head fell on the floor in a pool of blood.
I heard a knock on the door and bolted up, the image of the head still going through my mind. My breath was quickened, and I walked towards the door, and slowly opened it, my head still spinning.
I saw the tailor guy, Mr. Carenfeild or something, and he asked, "may I call you miss Aureole?"
"Didn't you already," I asked, causing a laugh from him. I followed him along the stairs, to a separate stairway than the one I had come down from last time. There were multiple rooms in another hallway, and we took the first room to the right. There were already multiple people there, and it seemed they went from order of the rooms you were staying in... it felt quite awkward being the last one to walk in, and have everyone looking at you. I just kinda waved and rushed off to an empty seat in the, oh. The front. Of course.
"so, that's the last of you students. Now you can meet your teachers. First, this will be your elements teacher, Mrs. Ever."
A women walked in through the door, I swear she wasn't here before. So a science teacher? I hated science. She had dark brown hair and looked in her early forties.
"Good morning, I suppose I don't need to introduce myself now, but class will start tomorrow at 8 pm sharp, there will be penalties for being late." That sounds... fun.
We went to the next class, and it a teacher was already in it, a women with blonde hair pulled up in a tight ponytail. She couldn't have been older than twenty-five, and she was petite with a great sense of fashion.
"Okay, you annoying brats, who I have to take care of, this is going to be your survival class," survival class? "but number one rule, no killing each other in class, you're only supposed to do that outside of this hallway, and especially this room."
