chapter 4
Eira
The hall erupted into a sea of quite chaos and I looked around. So no one had memories... this place was starting to scare me. And annoy me, there should be a word for annoyed and scared, like a ship name or something. And I felt super awkward, like honestly, how are all these people friends already? They're already talking and all, wow, I wish I was social, especially at a time like this.
No, what I really wanted to yell was that I wanted to they better all shut up, but that's not really me, so I guess not.
The king person gently hit the fork on the table again, demanding for silence. In this place it seemed that everything was perfectly communicated even with the lack of words, and everyone could easily understand. But I didn't understand why, but there were also so many unspoken rules lying above us, such as the firm respect we've given, and the personal space. It almost reminded me of something out of habit.
If this was out of habit, there was one more thing I should have felt, familiarity, but I didn't. there was no déjà vu, no recalling, nothing. Did I really lose all of my memories? I could speak, think, I knew general facts and everything, it just seemed like I couldn't remember any information about myself.
We all were silent and turned our heads toward the front of the table. We respected him. Why, though? We respected Butler Person. Why? Did we know them? Was it the atmosphere they carried? The sense of rich prosperity and royalty with firm authority, gentle but scary, generous but powerful, I don't know. Even I admired them.
"so, little children. First you probably want some information concerning yourself." Few nodded, and he continued. "in case you were wondering, there are three different age groups here, fourteen year olds," some turned towards me. So I was fourteen. So was the golden haired boy. "fifteen," again, there was the turns. "And sixteen year olds."
It was easy to identify the purple hair dyed girl to be one of the older ones, and a few more as well. "Age has nothing to do with this," the butler started, "but it must be frustrating to know nothing about yourself. Names will be set in your room, and it will be your choice to go by or reveal your actual name. I do hope your rooms are to your liking. Hopefully you did not forget where they were, but if you did, you may come see me and I will give you a number."
"Also, we highly recommend going through your rooms to see your belongings that have been set for you, hopefully to your liking," the king stated looking at everyone's clothing choices. Mine was an over sized white t shirt with the Deathly Hallows sign on it. So I'm pretty I've read the books, but I cant really remember much on what happened. Maybe I would know if I saw them again, I don't know.
"Now, what even is this place?" the golden haired boy said, his energetic, easygoing expression from before replaced with worry.
The butler smiled, but not enough to reach his eyes. "you'll be told soon enough." Another round of whispers came, and I heard the blonde girl mutter something under her breath. "but as of now we still have more to cover. For each of you, I'm well aware of the concern flowing through the air, not knowing who you are. That is why we must start with introductions. Yes, you do not know your name, nor do others, but that is not significant at the moment. Please rise."
Everyone did as he said, and then we were left to start talking. At first the hall was completely silent and there were whispers starting. I stood still though not wanting to interact with people, since I wasn't really the social type of person.
Then the ginger girl came up to me and started talking. "what's up?"
"um... what?" I asked quietly not knowing what to say.
"what's up," she repeated thinking I didn't hear her over the loud erupting room.
I still was really awkward and I replied with, "Nothing?"
"Fun," the girl said and slowly walked towards the next person. Well, I've already bored one person away... I felt like this happened often.
I really didn't talk too many people. I said a few words to the golden haired boy, and that's about it. The Butler Person called us and told us to have a seat. "Welcome, students to Skyline Academy, a school for the rich and prestigious."
