Chapter 13

Eira

It had been half an hour of complete awkwardness. Both girls just sat there, as if they were emotionless statues, and I was quite bored. It's not like I tried to start a conversation though. The quieter they were the more suspicious I was, the more suspicious I was the more I over thought, the more I overthought the more she came into my mind. I couldn't stand how silent it was, how I wasn't allowed to break, how I felt trapped in this place, I hated it.

I really wanted to scream out loud, but I didn't need to be the one doing that. You would be surprised at how many screams I've heard in the past thirty minutes. You're probably yelling at me for being so cold-hearted, but believe me, I have reasons for not going. One, I'm injured and can barely walk, much less save them, two, I have my own problems to think of, like the two other girls, and three, I don't want to fight anyone else. I'd only be a burden, you see? No, I'm just scared. Scared out of my mind. I want to run, but how can I?

"Hey," I said, trying to start a conversation. "Maybe I could help you with your cuts?"

They dirty blonde girl just nodded and smile as the dark hair girl sighed.

"SO," Blondie started loudly. "what's your name?"

"Eira. And yours?"

"Kera, and this here is Ciana,"

"Uh, hi," she said awkwardly. She averted her eyes from me, and sighed. Well then, what was her problem?

"So, umm," this was super awkward, this is why I didn't like talking to people, people were annoying, and I was just awkward, standing in a corner.

"yeah, um, where are the bandages?" Kera asked. Good question.

"Umm, I'll go look."

"Want me to come with you?" she asked a warm smile coming on her face. I was happy, she seemed like a nice person.

"No, it's okay, you're hurt."

"You are too, though," she said, concern coming over her face. I couldn't believe that we were all actually brought here to kill each other.

"I know, right," the black haired girl, Ciana, whispered, and I soon realized I had said it out loud.

"I wonder if it's just another trap...?" Kera said, her voice hollow and emotionless. "There's no way they would've done this to kids like-"
"Didn't you just see what they did outside?" I burst, everything caught up in my letting out. Kera flinched, but remained in the same spot, a small comforting smoke coming upon her face. Ciana didn't finch though, she just turned to the side, and stared at the ground, her hair falling over her face like a personal curtain. She was really pretty. With silky black, straight hair which went to her waist. She had a headband on, and her face held mature features, such as her make up with red lipstick, and winged eyeliner. She also had high cheekbones and a defined look, it was almost scary how beautiful she was. Kera on the other hand looked like the type of girl who would date sixteen boys in a year, with blonde curls gently spilling on her shoulders. They weren't naturally curly, you could tell that, and she had more of a childish look compared to Ciana. Her face was more circular, and she didn't have as defined makeup as her, either. She rather had makeup that made her prettier than standout. I wished I was as pretty as them...
They started to walk, both of them with me, towards the supposed kitchen. I didn't even know there was a chaos compared tokitchen. Was that sad? Probably.
We went into this room full of kitchen appliances hanging from hooks and piled in shelves, and it was utter chaos compared to the near organization of the rest of the academy. What even, I thought, trying to keep my OCD under control.
Apparently there was a pot under my foot, and fell face first into the ground. I mean, I could barely walk as it is, I didn't need to fall, gosh, Pot.
I'm weird, I know. Deal with it, or stop reading my recordings.
So, Kera started to softly laugh after I fell on the cold hard marble floor, but it wasn't a mean type of laugh. I surprisingly didn't mind it. It was almost like we were friends. Friends... My mind rapidly shifted to another thought, her. Ena.
I didn't want to loose anymore people I trusted, therefore I wouldn't trust. I took a step away from them, carefully stepping inside the marble tile squares ahead.
The kitchen was as big as my room, and there wasn't an inch filled with stuff in the corners. I looked around and had the sudden urge to cook, seeing all the vast varieties of ingredients. I wondered why we didn't eat this morning, even though, I surprisingly wasn't hungry this morning.
We looked all around the kitchen but there weren't any that could be found. Wait, why were we looking in the kitchen in the first place? Then again, everything is in the kitchen anyways. While we were looking i found a pair of shoes, a toy dog, and a compass, along with a bunch of other things. It was strange how it was the messiest place I've seen so far.
I saw from the corner of my eyes that Kera had picked up a knife, that was a good idea, incase something else came.
I took one from the ground as well, careful not to cut myself. I kinda didn't like knifes, and I really didn't like how sharp they were even if they were kitchen knives.
I should of took a butter knife. 'Yep, Eira, just stab someone with a butterknife, you'll surely survive.'
I chucked at the thought of it and softly pressed the flat side of the blade of the knife onto my palm.
Suddenly there was a crashing sound from upstairs and a loud scream. I looked at the other girls, they nodded, and we raced out of the kitchen, and up the stairs as fast as we could.
