"Grandmaster!" You shouted, scrambling into Masyaf Castle and slipping clumsily up the stairs, holding your arm in pain where an arrow was still deeply lodged into it. "(Y/n)?! What happened?" Al Mualim asked, looking at you worryingly when you collapsed in front of his desk. ".....Altaïr......taken....taken away....he was.....he was beaten down and....and I couldn't save.....save him in time.....now he's being sent to....to Acre to their....their prison to be tortured to death.." You gasped, feeling a pair of arms from another assassin help you to stay steady. "This is not good. What is his condition from when you last saw him?" Al Mualim pressed. "Last time.....he was being dragged unconscious to a carriage......stripped of his weapons....thankfully his hood was not removed.....but he is in a poor state...." You felt yourself losing awareness to your surroundings. Al Mualim said something, but you couldn't hear it. Your eyes dropped and you slumped into the assassin's arms, the whole world going black..
Opening your eyes, you groaned and rubbed your head. The surroundings were golden and spiritual. "Another vision?" You asked aloud, getting a reply from someone you know well. "Yes. I know how much you care about Altaïr, so I pity you, dear child, and bring you a vision of him now." Juno said, reaching out and touching your forehead.
-
You were standing in the prison, right outside a dark cell. You heard noises and a guard phased through you, well, it makes sense since your a hologram right now. They laughed at the darkness, you wondered why. Straining your eyes, you gasped to see Altaïr, slumped on the floor, all bruised and beaten. "He never fought back." You whispered to Juno, who nodded sadly. "He waits for you, whether he knows it or not. He might not be grateful, but he will understand why only you go. Listen closely, my child, I will tell you how to get to him undetected..."
~
You gasped loudly, shooting up from the bed. "Okay, (y/n). You know what to do." You said to yourself. You looked around. The candles were out and the moon was high in the sky. You smirked weakly. Perfect. You hopped out of bed, careful not to disturb your painful arm, and walked over to your chest at the foot of the bed. Just as Juno said, there was a rich woman's attire waiting inside. Now, you are not one for dresses, but to save a fellow brother, you would take the risk. It was bug enough to hide your weapons and had a purse, allowing you to place your assassin robes inside. You braided your hair a bit to make it look elegant and curly, then headed off.
As you walked, one of the assassin's pulled you aside. "Kadar?"you are not trying to stop me, are you?" You asked Kadar, but he shook his head. "No, (y/n), I am here to help you. I will get you past the guards at the gate." He smiled innocently. You rolled your eyes and followed him, leading outside the city/town's gates in a flash. "Safety and Peace,
(y/n), come back unharmed with Altaïr, and know me and Malik will help out any way we can." Kadar told you before running off back to his post. You smiled while he left and grabbed a horse, jumping onto its back and quickly riding away.
-timeskip cause why not-
You finally made it to Acre at midnight and you were able to slip past the guards easily with no hassle. Now, to the prison... You walked up to a business man and tapped his shoulder politely. "Excuse me, sir, but do you know where the prison is? I must visit my brother before his punishment." You sweetly asked, letting your charms do the job. The man smiled and nodded, pointing down the to the south entrance. (Honestly idk if there even is a prison eheheheheh) you bowed in a slight 'thank you', and hurried to the destination, which actually wasn't so far away. You stumbled and cursed lightly, saying how next time, you'll just rush in, kill everyone, and get out because of the dress. Your thoughts instantly went back to Altaïr, questions racing your mind such as:
Is he okay?
Is he dead?
Is he actually in trouble?
Does he actually need my help?
You were beginning to worry when you stopped at the prison entrance. "What can we do for you, miss?" They asked. "Ah, yes. My brother is going to be punished soon for....murder....and I would like to see him one last time before his demise." You said, the lies rolling off your tongue like melted chocolate laced with poison. The guards nodded and let you in, and from the looks of it, they were practically the only to wide awake, all the other either went home or were sleeping heavily in chairs or on the floor. You wandered around to prison, wondering where Altaïr cell was, until a hand shot out and grabbed yours, though it wasn't harsh.....it was.....weak. You looked at the hand, the missing ring finger setting off the spark of familiar inside you. "(Y-y/n)...? You need to...." He coughed, not able to talk. You looked around and saw the man with the key, though the key fell to the ground. You crawled to it and grabbed it, crawling back before resting a hand on Altaïr's shaky one. "Why would they ever do this.....I've never seen you so shaken up ever since your father was killed..." You muttered, unlocking the door and letting Altaïr's unnatural weak form crash into your arms. His legs had buckled from under him and he was barely conscious. You hugged him close to you as tears threatened to fall, but you rapidly wiped them away. The worry was growing in your stomach as you walked back towards the entrance, stabbing both guards before quickly jogging to the outside gates, where you killed all four guards and ran to your horse. Altaïr got on unsteadily behind you. "Wrap your arms around me tightly and you can rest your head on my back if necessary, just make sure not to fall off." You instructed, feeling two arms wrap around your waist and a head lay in your (h/l) (h/c) hair. "Why did you come a save me? By yourself?" He rasped, his hood off his head, revealing two tired golden eyes. "I did what I had to do for a member of the Creed." You breathed, "I did what you would do if one of us got taken. I know you would stop at nothing until a brother or sister is safe." You narrowed your eyes, hearing the crickets chirping. Altaïr gave a small chuckle. "Your right, I would...." He coughed lightly. Soon, your horse grew tired and you decided to stop and make camp for the night, or what was left of it anyways. You decided to change out of the wretched dress and into your appropriate clothing, then sat down next to the warm fire. Altaïr was wrapped in blankets asleep right behind you, you could tell by his light snoring.
You looked up at the stars with a smile of relief when sleep beckoned you. Your (e/c) eyes slowly began to droop, and your head slowly leaned against Altaïr's back, but you jolted up quickly. He deserves to rest in peace, not have someone sleep on him. You began to get up and stumble slightly to a shady tree where you rested in the dirt. It wasn't comfortable, no no, but it was comfortable enough to get you to sleep.
~
Altaïr rose up from his pillow, wondering if he was still in the prison until he realized the sand and the sun and the girl sleeping a bit away. Her head slumped down in slumber and soft breathing making her hard-working self look peacful for once. Altaïr noticed his hood off, but didn't bother to put it back on. He stood up and walked over to you, lifting your sleeping face so he could look at you. "(Y/n) wake up....we have to get back to the Master." Altaïr calmly whispered, letting a small yawn escape. Your hands grabbed the one on your cheek and you leaned into it, causing Altaïr to blush. "Mmgh.....five more minutes...." You muttered, making Altaïr chuckle. He stood up and grabbed the pillow and blanket, put them in your horses satchel, then grabbed you and placed you on the horse. He got on behind you, his arms on either side of you to prevent you from falling, and rode off to Masyaf. He looked at your still sleeping form and smiled, feeling happy that you came for him, it showed you cared. (Y/n) (l/n), the Guardian Angel of Masyaf....
My Guardian Angel.
