Chapter 14 Edward

I'm so not surprised, I thought as Aveline rounded the corner with Connor and Ezio behind her.

"Why am I not surprised?" Archer asked raising an eyebrow at Connor.

"Because nothing surprises you," Connor said. He seemed to be in a really good mood.

Arno snorted quietly. That is not true, he told me. Archer was surprised the day that we helped the revolutionaries.

Very true, I responded. But Connor doesn't know that.

Aveline leaned against a wall. "You're going after Shay huh?"

   "Yes," Archer said quietly.

Aveline looked at him carefully. "I see. Well, Shay has an army of his own. It's not really a large one, only one hundred men. If you are going to take down Shay you need slightly more than six people."

Arno frowned. "What are you getting at Aveline?"

"I'm going with you," she glanced quickly at Connor.

Aaah, I thought. So that's it! I smiled. "Of course."

Aveline looked a little surprised that I had agreed without question. She didn't say anything. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Archer and Arno exchange amused glances.

"We should get moving before the commander realizes that I'm not where he left me," Connor said glancing back towards the harbor.

"I'll assume you know a fast way to New York?" I asked. "If not we need to get to the Jackdaw."

"Of course I know a fast way to New York!" Connor looked slightly offended. "This is my home! I would need to know a fast way to New York!"

"Let's save the arguing for later," Altaïr suggested. "For now we need to get moving."

Connor glared at me and I smiled. He spun around and lead us through Boston. Ezio walked next to him. He had a look of concentration on his face. I assumed Connor had started to teach him how to use the anchor. Aveline was leaping across the rooftops, killing any redcoats that would try to stop us.

"Why did you allow her to come?" Arno asked quietly.

I smiled. "She's an excellent assassin and, in case you didn't notice, she and Connor won't leave each other alone."

Arno grinned. "I had noticed something like that. Archer did too. They weren't very sneaky about it."

"I wouldn't say anything to either of them anyway. Last time I tried I got left by myself in the middle of an army of Templars. That was not fun."

Arno laughed. "I can see Connor doing that."

I walked up beside Connor. "Sorry to interrupt your training session, but I'll meet you on the road outside the city."

Connor looked up. "Alright. Where are you going?"

"I have something I need to do."

Ezio frowned and glanced back at Archer. He didn't say anything as I walked away. I had somebody I needed to say hello to.
