Hey guys, sorry that this chapter took so long to be updated. :( But writer's block was a HUGE jerk to me when I would work on this. Like, honestly, it would slap me across the face whenever I'd think I was on to something and would want to write it down. But nope, it said 'Ain't Nobody Got Time Fo' That'!  So, anyway, I'm sorry that it's so short.

Chapter Two

"Wait a second, is that-?"

"It is." Padme confirmed with a sigh, then stood up and made her way over to greet Anakin as he entered the apartment. Denali and Obi-Wan didn't move from their seats, though. Denali set her fork down on the table and took a deep breath. She had been so happy about the idea of a new life that she didn't want to talk about her old one. She just wanted to focus on the good that had come out of her terrible previous situaton. Not the bad. 

"It'll be okay." Obi-Wan whispered and rubbed her shoulder supportively. She nodded, but didn't say anything. They heard Anakin's quick footsteps with Padme by his side. Then he was there, kneeling silently by her side, a concerned expression on his face and a single object in his hand.

"Denali..." He started, then took a deep breath. Obi-Wan made sure to keep an eye on Anakin, due to recent events where his former apprentice's lips had touched the lips of his wife. Sure, he trusted Anakin with his own life. But not with his wife. "I'm sorry about what happened. I just heard less than an hour ago about it and-"

"It's okay, Anakin." Denali replied with a small pitiful smile, but didn't look him directly in the eye. And Obi-Wan didn't blame her. This moment was really awkward for the three of them, and here are the reasons why.

1. Obi-Wan and Denali were secretly married.

2. Anakin didn't know that they were secretly married.

3. Padme knew that they were secretly married.

4. Denali knew that Anakin and Padme were secretly married.

5. Obi-Wan didn't know that Anakin and Padme were secretly married.

6. Anakin kissed Denali, therefore, partially cheating on his own wife.

7. They were all sitting closely in the same room in the middle of an awkward silence.

Yep, good times.

"Well, to ease the pain," Anakin put the object he had been holding on the table next to Denali's breakfast plate. Her eyes widened at the sight of the small cylindrical device and her jaw dropped. "I've brought you a small gift." Her fingers wrapped around the item and held it in her hands, as if checking to make sure it was real.

"My lightsaber?" Denali peeled her eyes away from her personal weapon and stared at Anakin in pure awe. "How did you get this? Master Windu-"

"Doesn't know when he's been stolen from." Anakin finished for her. Obi-Wan, Denali, and Padme's eyes widened in pure shock.

"You stole this from Master Windu?" Denali asked. Anakin nodded, the smirk on his face very amusing in some strange way. Slowly, gradually, a similar smirk appeared on her lips and she playfully nudged Anakin's shoulder, causing him to laugh. "Anakin! You sly little fiend!"

"Hey, I figured that you'd need it." Anakin said in his own defense.

"That's definitely going to make your new job easier." Padme commented. Anakin raised an eyebrow questionably. But before he could ask what she meant, Obi-Wan spoke up and answered his question.

"Padme has employed Denali as her personal body-guard." Anakin's eyes widened and a huge grin appeared on his face.

"That's great!" He told her.

"Yep," Denali began, her mind still on the fact at how messed up all their relationships were at this point in their lives. "Just great."

Once again, sorry for the sucky chapter. But you guys have been waiting patiently and I've left enough cliff-hangers that you all are probably exploding with anticipation. Hopefully I'll have another chapter up soon.

Lately, I've been thinking about a little contest called 'The Watty Awards' and I was wondering if I should submit my first 'Assassin' book for it. Do you guys think that would be a good idea? Let me know in the comments!!
