Jessica's "Therapy" Session
Jessica Caesar was Piper's best friend. They'd been together since birth and no one knew Piper more than Jessica. She knew about her disorders and she was willing to remain by her side and care for her friend. She'd been through various obsessive phases already. There was the "Nick" phase, when Piper was obsessed about a cute male classmate. And then there was the more recent "Matthew Renner" phase, which was Piper falling head-over-heels in love with the famous hollywood actor.
Now Piper was in "obsessed about hockey and players" phase. Jessica liked hockey since birth actually. She'd grown up liking the sport thanks to her family and being in Boston, hockey was a huge cultural aspect. She'd dragged Piper into watching it and though Piper somewhat enjoyed it, she'd never been as big of a fan for the sport until now.
Jessica knew Piper was spiraling into her obsession and it was beginning to grow worse and worse. She had to confront her friend and figure out what was going on. Piper Peregrine, Jessica knew, had never spiraled this badly before. Something was definitely wrong and she had to find out and put an end to it.
Jessica pulled her phone out, standing in the center of her living room. She rapidly dialed her friend's phone and then put the cell to her ear. "Piper, please come over to my house. I need to talk to you. It's urgent. Also I haven't seen you in weeks now. I'm worried about you." She looked up at the fireplace in front of her. A huge reindeer head was sticking out from the stone of the fireplace and it was staring at her.
"Jess, you know that I don't like to talk...and if this talk is about THE talk...I don't wanna have it. But I'd love to come over, because you HAVE to see this one Boston player."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah."
"Who?" Jessica looked around the room, glimpsing each picture that hung on the walls of her Jungle-themed living room as she walked around mindlessly.
"He's serious eye candy...and he's just so amazing!"
"Is it Percy Kane?" Jessica walked up two stairs and into the kitchen to the side.
"No. Jeremy! Jeremy Sagan!" Piper cut off to let out a long romantic sigh. "He's the moon and sun!"
"Piper, just don't lose it too badly with him. You're lucky I stepped in with Matthew...you almost got ahold of his email to send him a dirty message. Please don't do the same with Jeremy or Percy. And don't you dare touch my handsome Jonny now!"
"Jonathan Getzlaf?" Piped questioned.
"Yeah. Now he's the moon and sun AND stars!" Jessica laughed at herself.
"I'm not going to send Jeremy a message about how I'd love to tie him up in my bed and make love to him. Come on Jess, hasn't even crossed my mind!" Jessica heard her friend sigh, annoyed.
"I'm worried about you Piper. Please don't go overboard with loving Jeremy."
"I'm not Jess. I'm fine! Jeremy's hot and I want his sexy ass in my bed. End of story." She sounded furious and pissed off and also, distracted.
It worried Jessica a lot and she knew she'd have to step in and conduct one of her various "therapy sessions with her friend. As much as she knew Piper hated them and talking about letting go and loosening up her "obsession", it was good for Piper and Jessica was the one keeping her friend in check. If Jessica didn't talk to Piper, the poor girl would run wild and turn into an insane psychotic rage of fangirling.
"Piper, I'm coming over now!" Jessica firmly said.
"There's no need. I'm watching a game. I'm watching the Jeremy Sagans vs the Shruingers!" Piper giggled and sighed. "Jeremy's just so sexy! OMG!! They just showed a baby picture of him on the TV....HE'S SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Piper...!" Jessica gasped. "Piper!"
But the line had cut and the call had ended. Something really wasn't right. Jessica knew that Piper took medication to calm her obsessions and her obsessive nature. And she was certain her friend hadn't taken them for a few days.
Jessica needed to get over to Piper's house at once!
Who knew what would happen with Piper if she remained off the pills? Jessica grabbed an emergency stache off the counter in her kitchen and hurried out the door and headed to her car. She got in and drove to the Peregrine house, which was around the corner in the same neighborhood still.
She pulled up to the curb outside of her friend's house, parked, turned off the car and got out, darting inside Piper's house. She had a key and was very close to her friend that she was almost considered to be apart of the Peregrine family. She skidded into the family room and found Piper making out with the TV screen.
"PIPER!" Jessica screamed. She darted over and pulled her friend back from the TV and set her on the couch.
"Jess, what the hell?! You interrupted Jeremy and my make out session! I was just about to grab him and go! If you know what I mean."
"I unfortunately do, but you need to pull yourself together, Pipes, you were making out with your TV, not Jeremy. And out of curiosity, when was the last time you took your pills?" Jessica demanded, holding her friend firmly in place.
"I think two or three...maybe a week ago! I don't know..."
"Piper Peregrine! You know that's not right. You have to take those every day or you spiral out of control. I don't want you spiraling to a point you do something illegal. Please don't kidnap Jeremy Sagan."
Piper rolled his eyes. "I'd NEVER kidnap my baby Jeremy. Not Seggy. He's too precious."
"Good, keep thinking that and also take these to make up for the missed days. Take two, please." Jessica held out the bag with the emergency stash of pills.
Piper grabbed the bag. "Fine. I'll take one though now and the rest later...truth was I ran out of pills actually."
Jessica watched Piper open the bag, reach in and take one of the white pills from inside. She flicked it into her mouth and swallowed it, before grabbing her water glass from the table and washing it down the rest of the way. "Okay. Next time tell someone. I know you don't mean to right now, but out of control, your Obsessive Love Disorder could lead you to kidnapping Jeremy."
Piper rolled her eyes and nodded.
"I'm serious girl, I don't want you getting in trouble. Now, show me Jeremy, but go easy. Be normal, Piper."
Piper sighed and pulled her phone out. She tapped the screen and calmly showed Piper the pictures of Jeremy Sagan. Jessica seemed impressed. And as Piper went she got worked up and so did Jessica. Before long they were deep in girl talk.
"So what do you like about Jeremy?" Jessica asked her friend.
"I like him because of his hair...I mean look at how gorgeous and wavy it is!" Piper giggled as she zoomed in with her fingers to Jeremy's hair.
"Yeah, his hair is pretty cool, but I prefer Jonny's nice short cut with the curl in front of his head." Jessica smiled as she spoke. A blush crept onto her cheeks.
"Well, you can have him. I got Jeremy and Percy!" Piper grinned massively.
Jessica looked at the TV and then back at her friend. "We need to watch more games and hang out more. We've slacked off a little bit."
"True."
"What about Percy?" Jessica asked.
"Seriously, Jess? The blue eyes are so dreamy!" Piper sighed. "If I could have a three-way, it'd be with Percy and Jeremy."
"Why do you like blue eyes?" Jessica asked, batting her eyelashes playfully at her friend before laughing and turning away briefly.
"I don't know. I just do. They are so very pretty. And Jeremy's hair and smile and everything. I just like them so much. I'm just drawn to them both. That's just my likes. And I've always loved Canadian men a lot."
Jessica slowly nodded her head and blinked. "Yeah, hockey players have always been pretty cool and as I have grown, they've gotten more and more delicious in eye candy. Jonny, Nikita Namestnikov, Nichushkin, Tyler, and all of the guys really...!"
"Yeah...especially that Jeremy Sagan." Piper sighed romantically and smiled sheepishly. In the back of her mind, Piper was struggling to keep herself together. And she wasn't going to take her meds later. She liked the freedom and to be honest, she was accepting her disorder and she wanted to see just how far she could go. She did have pills on her and if things did get to be too much, she was going to use them and take them. But she liked the freedom and she liked not having to rely on taking them. Piper honestly was enjoying herself and she was really happy...much more then being on the pill medication.
Jessica remained with her for the rest of the game, as it went into the third period. The first pill was working its way through her and soon she felt her excitement returning. It was similar to alcohol and sobriety.
