Why Recommended: This is a great discussion about just how much a Paid Story author might make... or, rather, a discussion of why we don't really know and aren't likely to know. Some want to know in order for planning or to, perhaps, compare it to self or traditional publishing. Others feel that it is personal information. Still others feel that there should be a degree of transparency of the part of Wattpad about it. Take a look and decide for yourself.

Why Recommended: Though I'm a graphic designer myself, I can never seem to create anything I like, so MDC is always saving me. There are people there who are PROS in Photoshop and their graphics look as if you paid good money for them. With that being said, I think it's a way to go when you've just uploaded your first story and you need a cover. The people are super friendly and delivery is fast most of the time!

LuliWrites' Pick: Distance by BeZorro

Why Recommended:

One thing that I really like about this story is that it's different than a lot of animal-centered stories I've come across. The humans are viewed as caretakers but also an unreliable annoyance. It's interesting to see how they're presented from both perspectives. For those of you that are interested in novels that revolve around animals, and are not Warrior fanfictions, this story is a definite must read!

Okay, I was actually going to recommend a story called The Sea Thief, which is an amazing, well-written story about a Selkie who isn't very good at hunting (the poor thing). But then I realised that the author actually has another, arguably much better, reason to be featured in this particular issue of Aspire.

If you know anything about me, you'll know that I am a big fan of contests here on Wattpad. One contest in particular that has "made a splash" for me, is called the Monthly Gemstone Awards - a contest that returns every month, in which a new theme is chosen for every issue and participants will have new chances of winning every time. This contest is just so well organised, with a host who really cares about what she's doing, and some fantastic judges and participants.

This is why I am recommending ray_of_sunshine9 this month. She makes a splash in so many ways.
