Sky's Pick: Distortion by LailaLiliana

Though advertised for entertainment purposes, Ariella sees this as a quick fix to replace the low point in her relationship. But the man behind the new procedure never meant for it to be used in place of recovery.

In Ariella's mind, why work to recover from something when you can just erase it?

CONTENT WARNING: This book contains some mature language and brief domestic violence.

Why Recommended: This is a story from our very own team member. Her story centers around domestic abuse. I found the story intriguing because I believe Laila does an amazing job at portraying domestic abuse/violence and the mental effects that can come with it. Not only does she portray a realistic situation, but she also doesn't romanticize it which happens a lot in stories on Wattpad. I think this is a great work to check out because of the message presented.

Naomi's Pick: Kana's Reading Challenge by icemonkey2004

Why Recommended: This one is for all the die-hard vampire lovers. If you like dark enemies to lovers' romance between a mortal (who's also a hunter) and a vampire prince, then this book just might be for you. This book has been nothing but exciting as soon as Jordan started it. It honestly fits up to its title because I never know what stakes are going to be risked next. 

Laila's Pick: Behind Closed Curtains by LittleMinx94

Why Recommended: October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I chose this story as my pick for it because aside from being a heartbreaking yet beautiful romance, it handles the topic of domestic abuse with care and respect.

Leah is more than just a victim, like all survivors of domestic violence. She's a person with goals and dreams whose character is not defined by the trauma she's endured. Her realistic character helps readers see her as a person, which helps build empathy and compassion for abuse survivors.

Kaleb's character makes the story even more perfect, introducing Leah to what a real man is like.
