Voyage by Gadralneure 

I am sailing toward the darkness

of a distant unknown shore,

hidden in that deep dark fog,

where my parents sailed before.

The ship moves ever onward

driven forward by warm winds

and I am anchorless,

without control,

beneath the endless stars of light,

so beautiful in their cold tragedy,

like shining tears suspended in the night.

It is not fear that stirs my heart

as to that distant land I gaze,

but the gentle melancholy

of all the places I have been

and all the people I have met,

behind me on that roiling sea,

the anchorages where I once paused,

placid, peaceful, and pristine,

thankful deep within my soul

as the fog grows ever closer

and I reach that unknown shoal.
