"No, you don't understand, this is huge for me!"

"Yeah? Well what about for me?! You didn't think this was going to affect me?"

"Of course I did, it effects everyone! But I thought you'd be more accepting of it!" I was arguing with my boyfriend, Klaus, about my application to college. I was accepted early, and they asked me to come in a few weeks before school actually starts to get settled in to meet with teachers. Klaus had been dreading the day I would leave, but now it was early?

"I can be it just-ugh-it will take me some time." He said, putting a hand on his forehead.

My eyes filled with tears, "Fine, take all the time you need then." And other went to my room. I could hear Klaus calling me, but I didn't care. I curled myself into a ball and cried, letting the tears fall down my cheeks and tasting their saltiness. I don't know how long I was sobbing when Klaus silently climbed on my bed and wrapped me in his arms. He ran his hands through my hair as I got quieter and quieter.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I should have been more understanding, I know how much you want to go. I just don't want you to leave me." He wiped his eyes.

"Just because I'm physically far from you doesn't mean I really am. I'm always gonna be with you, no matter where we are." I said, "And that won't change. I just have things to do, places to be. I have to think about my future."

"I know," he sighed and took my hand in his and slowly traced across my palm.

"W-will you read to me?" I asked.

"Of course." We both walked to the cozy library and sat down. I laid my head in his lap as he pulled out (favorite book) and started reading. His voice was so soothing, I could feel myself lulling to sleep. Before I was fully asleep, I could hear Klaus putting the book away and pulling me to lay down next to me.

He pushed my hair behind my ears and softly whispered,

"I love you."
