Chris Takes The Night Shift.

((Skip to XXX if you want to get started with the dare. I just put some... bonus? material in the start, I guess.))

"Oh, come on, you're not still sour about yesterday, are you?" Vincent asked.

Scott, who was wearing his phone-mask again, turned to look at him, his arms crossed. His phone head began to ring softly.

Vincent grinned sheepishly. "I'm guessing your head isn't ringing because looking at me gets you all hot, right?"

Scott's phone head rang even louder, mixed with some annoyed static buzzing.

"...okay, okay, you're still mad at me, that's fine..." Vincent huffed and walked off.

Scott sighed. He was still angry at Vincent, which he guessed was a little unreasonable, but it didn't change that fact. He was pretty angry. A simple apology would do. But not just a, "I'm sorry, wanna make out?" He wanted a heartfelt apology. "I'm sorry, I know it was a stupid thing to do, I could have died." He sighed. How could Vincent not see that he was just worried about him? Well whatever, he was a jerk anyway.

"Hey, Chris, you've got an actual dare..." Twitch said. "Well, actually it's for everyone, but mainly for Chris..."

Everybody looked up, intrigued. Especially Chris, who gaped a little bit, "A dare... for me?"

"With everyone there, Chris has to take the night shift... while only checking the cameras once every two minutes."

"What?!" Mike asked, eyes wide. "That's suicide!"

"I second that," Scott said. "That's ridiculous! There's no way you could survive. I mean, Mike and I have been on the night shift longer than anybody else and even we think it's too hard."

"W-What a-about t-the music box?" Jeremy asked. "Y-You h-have t-to c-constantly wind it, n-not just e-every t-two minutes..."

"Impossible," was all Fritz contributed, shaking his head.

Chris gulped.

"Well, you guys know what I'm going to say," Twitch said.

"A dare's a dare. We get it," Vincent said. "Well, we're obviously going to have to do it, so we have to be innovative. Show those tin cans who's boss. Alright?"

Everybody else nodded. "Alright."

That night, Chris walked into the pizzeria. "So... Mike tells me some weird stuff starts happening at midnight...?

Scott nodded. "Well, you see... you know the animatronics...?"

"Yeah, of course. What about them?"

"Well.. at night, they... get a little quirky..."

Chris frowned. "How so?"

"Oh for goodness' sakes," Vincent said. "The animatronics try to kill us by stalking us down in the halls and stuffing us into one of their suits. We can only stop them by wearing a mask which, I will point out to everyone, we only have one of, winding the music box which is impossible now and flashing them with a flashlight with 100-year-old batteries."

Chris' eyes widened. "We're all going to die!"

"See, he understands now," Vincent said to Scott calmly.

Scott glared at him.

Suddenly something seemed to change in the pizzeria. A sense of foreboding fell over everybody, the whirring and clicking sound of animatronic parts could be heard faintly from the Show Stage, the exits locked for the night and Vincent grinned as he felt 11 rowdy spirits waking up for the night. "And so it begins..."

Chris sat down in the chair and opened the camera.

"Q-Quickly, f-find C-Camera 11..." Jeremy instructed.

Chris clicked on the camera and saw that the music box was already half empty. He wound it up.

Scott cursed quietly. "Jeremy, throw me the flashlight. I can hear Foxy in the hallway."

Jeremy did as told and Scott quickly flashed Foxy, disorienting him.

Mike checked the left vent while Vincent checked the right one, but there was nobody there yet.

Mike took a deep breath. "It doesn't help to panic, everyone. We're okay, for now."

"For now," Vincent agreed.

~~~
We remember...
Vincent sighed, ignoring the spirits' attempts to contact him. He wasn't afraid of them. He knew they were just as scared of him as they were angry at him. He was a little distracted, not checking his vent, which is why it wasn't him, but Scott, who first heard the slithering of cables in the roof.
Scott looked up, frowning, but he didn't see anything at first. He squinted at the roof of the Office, but whatever it had been must have gone. Probably a rat in the rafters.
There it was again! A strange slithering sound. Scott was almost certain he'd seen what looked like a silver snake, and then he caught a glimpse of white glowing eyes, and razor-sharp teeth.
"Vincent, duck!" Scott shouted as Mangle dropped from the ceiling straight towards Vincent's head.
Vincent dropped to the ground as the animatronic swung over, barely missing him. He lay on the ground, heart racing, a light purple/almost white from fright, staring up at the animatronic, who's gnashing jaws were but a centimetre away from his face.
"Scott, I swear, if I survive this, I'm going to kiss you so hard..." Vincent said quietly. "You just saved my life."
Scott didn't reply; the threat wasn't over yet, Mangle was still in the room and only inches from Vincent's face. He looked around for something he could throw at Mangle to distract it. His eyes came to rest on the one Freddy mask they had and he picked it up, throwing it at Mangle.
It hit it on its head, but not just that. The mask had no back to it and it slid onto Mangle's jaw, becoming caught in some of the animatronic mechanisms. Mangle reared up, desperately clawing at its face to tear off the mask but it didn't work.
Taking his chances, Vincent leapt off the ground and pulled at Mangle's head, tearing it off.
The animatronic became still.
Everybody stared in shock at the scene. Vincent, the purple slowly coming back to him, was standing in the centre of the room, holding Mangle's head, while the rest of the animatronic was still attached to the roof.
"I'm never... going to sleep well... again," Vincent finally broke the silence, pulling the Freddy mask off of Mangle's head, which he placed on the floor.
"Hear, hear..." Scott said weakly, reaching for the flashlight to flash Foxy.
Jeremy looked down at the tablet. "U-Uh, g-guys? I t-think w-we might h-have bigger p-problems..."
"What do you-" Fritz was cut off as an eerie tune filled the halls.
Round and round the mulberry bush...
Mike's eyes widened. "The music box."
The monkey chased the weasel...
The monkey stopped to pull up his sock...
Pop! Goes the weasel...
Chris looked around. "T-The music box? Um, w-what's the big deal with the music box...?"
"It means the Puppet's coming to kill us," Vincent said. "Well, I doubt it'll kill all of us at the same time but it'll probably pick us off one by one, while forcing the others to watch it kill..."
"That's enough information," Scott said.
"So?! Hide!" Chris said.
"What?" Mike asked.
"Get in the vents!" Chris said. "It can't find us in there, right? And if they're already occupied and the animatronics kill us, well, it's going to happen anyway, right?"
"A room full of experienced night guards and it's our janitor that comes up with the idea to save our lives?" Mike asked. "Geez, Chris, we should have hired you ages ago! Dibs on the right vent!" So saying, he ran towards that vent and darted inside. Jeremy and Fritz followed.
Scott hopped into the left vent. Naturally, Vincent followed him and Chris did as well, just because there was no room in the other vent.
"Are you alright, Vin?" Scott asked straight away after Vincent clambered into the vent.
"I'm fine. All thanks to you, Scotty~" Vincent replied. "And you do know I am sorry about yesterday, right? It was just a dare. I didn't think it would freak you out like it did."
"Of course it did, Vincent!" Scott said. "You know I love you, so of course it would freak me out if you died!"
Vincent was silent for a while. "I guess I'm just no good with feelings. But I'm trying, Scott. I'm sorry."
That was all Scott needed to hear. He hugged Vincent tightly. "It's okay."
Chris made an awkward coughing sound.
Vincent looked at him. "What? It's not like you can complain, Chrystal~"
Chris paused. "Fair enough."
"Hey, this is the LGBT Vent!" Vincent said. "We have two gays and a transgender."
Scott snorted. "The LGBT Vent, huh? Seems legit."
"Hello?"
Scott looked to his other side and jumped.
"Hi!"
There was a silence for a while.
"I guess he wants in on the LGBT Vent..." Vincent said. "Yo, Balloon Boy? What letter do you fit under, huh?"
"Ahahaha! Ahaha!"
"See, he thinks I'm funny," Vincent said, and then they all jumped when the 6AM chime went off.
"6AM already?" Chris asked as he hopped out of the vent. "I didn't even hear the Puppet come in..."
"Doesn't matter," Scott said. "As long as we survived, am I right?"
"Another night shift well done," Mike called from across the room. "So what do you think, Chris? You going to sign up?"
Chris laughed. "Are you freaking kidding me? I'm crazy as it is to work during the day, let alone the night shift!"
"Hey? What are we going to do about Mangle...?" Fritz asked.
"We can wrap up its head and give it to Boss for Christmas!" Vincent said.
"I have a better idea," Mike said and pulled out a sharpie. "Let's give it a whole new look."
Let's just say the kids got one hell of a shock when they saw Mangle that day.
((I'm pretty sure this chapter sucks but I'm really tired and it's the best I can do. Sorry.))
