James: *runs into the room* What now, Phoenix?

Phoenix: Read this dare! You'll love it!

James: *reads the dare* *in response to the person who gave him the dare* Well that's nice of you. I want me alive too.

Phoenix: As do I, Prongs, as do I.

James: Alright. Let's do it. So let's curse McGonnagal to where she can't transfigure out of her cat form for a week.

Phoenix and James high-five. Phoenix and James exit Aberforth's house and walk around the grounds of Hogwarts. James finds McGonnagal in cat form and curses her to where she cannot transfigure into human form for a week. It's Christmas break anyway.

Phoenix: Now, you have to sleep with your new pet cat for a week.

James: *walking around Hogwarts, holding McGonnagal as a cat and petting it* You never said that. That was never part of the dare.

Phoenix: Maybe you'll steal Lily's heart with your new kitty?

James: *laughing* Hopefully.

Sirius: *walks up to Phoenix, smirking* Hey Prongs, Phoenix. Why are you two hanging out? You guys aren't friends.

Phoenix: *rolls eyes* It's called Ask Or Dare, Sirius.

Sirius: *laughs* Geez, Nix, you're beating us at our prank game.

Phoenix: *rolls eyes* Come on, Siri.

Sirius, Phoenix, and James walk down the hallways of Hogwarts. James walks up to Lily, petting the cat.

James: Hey, Lilyflower?

Lily: *rolls eyes* Don't call me that. Now, James, what do you want?

James: *holds up the cat* Wanna go out with me?

Lily: I'll take the cat, not you.

James: *laughs* Hell nah, Evans. *runs away with the cat*

Lily: POTTER!

Phoenix: *walks up to Lily* Sorry bout him.

Lily: It's fine. It must be a pain in the butt having to hang with Sirius and his friends.

Phoenix: Except Remus. He's nice.

Lily: Except Remus. *smiles* Have fun! Or whatever amount of fun you can have with them two.

Phoenix: *laughs* Bye, Lils.

Lily: Bye, Nix!

Phoenix: *walks towards Moony*

Remus: Hey, Nix? Why is James petting Professor McGonnagal?

Phoenix: *laughs* You're brilliant, Moony. It's called Ask Or Dare. You're going to have to do that soon.

Remus: *rolls eyes* oh god. Come on, you need a Marauder nickname.

Phoenix: I do, don't I?

Remus: *walking down the halls with Phoenix* Alright. So one of James's dares is to keep Professor McGonnagal as a pet?

Phoenix: *nods* Gotta love our readers, right?

Remus: We'll all get detention *laughs*. I want the cat to be trained to attack Lucius; that'll be great.

Phoenix: *laughs* of course

The Next Day...

James wakes up with the cat, sleeping in his bed. James pets Professor McGonnagal and she hisses at him. Remus laughs, because he's the only one, other than Phoenix and James, that the cat is actually their transfiguration teacher. Remus walks out of the dorms, running towards the Hufflepuff common room.

Remus: PHOENIX!

Phoenix: *walks over to him* Yes, Moons?

Remus: James is petting the cat, who's biting him. Let's go into the Gryffindor common room.

Phoenix nods and the two of them walk towards the common room.

Slughorn: *walks up to Phoenix* Miss Black, Mr. Lupin, have you seen Professor McGonnagal?

Phoenix: *shakes head* No, Professor. Good luck on finding her!

Phoenix and Remus wave to Slughorn, them they continue their route to the Gryffindor dormitory, both of them laughing. They arrive at the dormitory, seeing James being chased by the cat.

James: HELP! THE CAT IS EVIL!

Phoenix and Remus: *laughing*

Sirius: *laughing his head off* Come on, kitty! Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

Remus: Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

Peter: Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

Phoenix: Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

Severus: Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

Lily: Chase Potter! Chase Potter!

James: I'M OFFENDED! *looks around* Snivellus?

Phoenix: *slaps James* Sorry, Severus. You're fine. *smiles*

Severus: *smiles back* Thanks, Phoenix.

Five days have gone by.

James: *walks to Lily with the cat* Hey, Evans?

Lily: What do you want, Potter?

James: Will you go out with me? If you get me, you get the cat!

Lily: *takes the cat* I'll take the cat. Not you.

James: *takes back the cat* No dice. We're a package deal.

Lily: *rolls eyes* Nope.

The next day.

Phoenix: *walks into Gryffindor common room* Let's transfigure Professor McGonnagal back into herself!

James: FINALLY! *stops petting the cat* It's weird, sleeping with your professor as a cat!

Remus: *laughs* I knew it.

Sirius: *gasps* I pet my Professor?!?!

Phoenix: *nods* *transfigures her back*

McGonnagal: JAMES POTTER! I AM APPALLED! PHOENIX BLACK! DETENTION, BOTH OF YOU!

James: The dare said only I had to face the consequences.

McGonnagal: Alright, Miss Black, you get out of it this time.

Phoenix: *smiles* Thank you, Professor. Sorry, Professor.

James: Sorry, Professor.

McGonnagal: You addressed me by Professor? Good. Thanks, James.

James: *smiles* Anytime, Professor.

Detention was a mixture of picking up trash and writing, "I must not sleep with my professor as a cat." on a scroll with a normal quill, over and over again.

James: *after detention* Mischief managed.

Geez, that was fun. I hated sleeping with my cat Professor though. That was weird, mate. Evans still didn't go out with me! Even after that not-so-cute cat!
