I've seen some questions like this in my day on tests, that's why I don't always have an A in math.

I got this.  I have geometry so I can figure this out.

If 4+2=applesauce then X is the square root of green

So then if X is the square root of green then 4+2=applesauce.

Mott's Applesauce was founded in 1842.  So we can take out "18" and say that the year was '42.  So "applesauce" must be code for "6"

So now we know that if 4+2=6, X is the square root of green.

If logic, as in the year that the Mott's applesauce company was founded, applies to the first part, then it must apply to the second part.

Green has four different letters it and it is the fourth color on the rainbow.  Leaves are green and chance color throughout the four seasons.  I keep on getting four so that must be what green is.

So the square root of green (aka 4) is 2.

The answer is 2.
