So. This is just saying. Although Palette is not here, you can still ask about him and any other ship kids. As I have a head cannon that before a ship kids parents become cannon in any timeline/multiverse, they spend their time in a place that only ship kids can enter and leave. So this is how Goth and Palette will already know each other. And yes, if the ship kids choose, they don't have to go to the timeline/multiverse where their parents are in a relationship. As they can enter or leave this place they stay at anytime. Hope it clears up a bit of confusion.
