Chase, I dare you to put that costume (the Captain America costume from Ask #52 and #53) on for a week, and act in character. And rather than Heatwave calling everyone for missions, you have to call them with the phrase "Avengers Assemble!"

Chase: *straps on the shield and stands proud* Avengers!

Heatwave, immediately: CHASE IT'S FUCKING 4AM-

Recruits: *in unison as they crash out of their berthrooms* ASSEMBLE!!!

Heatwave: *tired dad noises*

*later*

Wedge: *as Chase teaches a class* Professor Chase?

Chase: yes?

Wedge: if you're really going to be Captain America for a week... you gotta demonstrate how to throw the shield.

Chase: and shatter all laws of physics?

Recruits: *nodding*

Chase: hold my fondue.

Recruits: *start cheering and yelling when Chase uses the shield to ricochet off 4 simulated enemies, back to him with ease*

*the next day*

Medix: *examining the shield* there is no way this is plastic...

Chase: *doing pullups with a 4 ton weight tied to him* you're right. It's vibranium.

Medix: w-

*later*

Hotshot: *hanging from the ceiling with a Spider-man costume on* Mr. Stark sent me to tell you that you're a little bitch.

Chase: is that so? Tell me kid, where are you from?

Hotshot: Queens.

Chase: *chuckles softly* Brooklyn *throws the shield at Hotshot's webbing*

Hotshot: *slams into the floor and laughs his aft off*

*the next day*

Chase: *at the groundbridge controls* Avengers!

Whirl: *does a whole bunch of acrobatics into the room, landing perfectly as she wears her Black Panther costume*

Wedge: *leaps in with Stormbreaker, landing perfectly in his Thor costume* hey I think this is yours Captain! *tosses Mjolnir*

Chase: *catches it*

Hoist: *suddenly sizes up right next to Whirl in his Ant-Man costume*

Medix: *decends the stairs as her red cloak from her Doctor Strange costume flows elegantly* someone call for a doctor?

Hotshot: *comes swinging in with his Spider-man costume on, timing his swing wrong and colliding with the floor*

Wedge: *to Medix* that would be a yes.

Chase: ...okay so... we apparently need to practice that...

*later*

Chase: *as an actual emergency pops up* Avengers!

Recruits: *all enter in with their costumes on, immediately taking them off when they realize it's an actual emergency*

Chase: a building has collapsed and several humans are trapped inside. Your job is to get them out.
Avengers Assemble!

Recruits: *all cheering as they run through the groundbridge*

*the next day, since the rescue was a success*

Hotshot: ....isn't this uncomfortable?

Chase: *in a plank position as all Recruits are sitting on his back* not at all!

Heatwave: *slightly jealous* hey Cap?

Chase: yeah?

Heatwave, smugly: Bucky's alive.

Chase: WHAT *collapses onto the floor*

Recruits: *all shriek as they roll off*

Chase: *face in the floor* Buckyyyyyyyyyyyyy....

*the next day*

Rescue Bots: *dealing with a rockslide*

Recruits: *watching from back at the Academy, all pouting*

Heatwave: *looks at Chase* did you really have to wear that?

Chase: *going full turtle with the shield* it's working, isn't it?

Heatwave: *grumbles as he punches another rock*

Chase: *walking down the hallway with his shield strapped to his back*

Medix: *shaking her helm*

Whirl: *shaking her helm*

Hoist: *shaking his helm*

Blades: *giggling with his Falcon costume on*

Boulder: *snickering with his Hulk costume on*

TLC: *standing there silently contemplating the true meaning of life as he wears an Iron Man costume*

Heatwave, with a Black Widow costume on: but I hate you.

Recruits, all wearing their costumes: *W H E E Z E*

Rescue Bots: *prepare themselves*
