Jia-Ling dares:
Hoist and Wedge have to pretend they're dating for 48 hours.

Wedge: I can see this going very wrong.

Hoist: it's only for 48 hours.

Wedge: *sighs heavily* fine. But don't go overboard.

Hoist: wasn't planning on it.

Wedge: shake on it?

Hoist: *shakes his servo and then yanks him in for a kiss*

Wedge: *immediately wants to pull away but goes along with it when he figures out why Hoist did it*

Hotshot, upon walking in and seeing that:

*30 minutes later*

Hotshot: you're dating him?!

Wedge: whatever made you think that?

Hotshot: you were kissing him when I walked in the room!

Medix: *in the background* he was what?!?!

Wedge: *pretty believable blush* oh darn... I guess that gave it away.

Hotshot: how long have you two been dating?!

Wedge: since last night.

Whirl: *nearby* about time!!

Medix: *walking in* no kidding! I was starting to get worried that Hotshot and I would be the only ones that were dating!

Hotshot: *wraps his arm around Medix and kisses him*

Wedge, internally: *gagging*

Wedge, externally: guess it was finally time for a change.

Whirl: *sees Hoist walking in* oh there's the lucky mech!

Hoist: the what? *sees Wedge making some gestures* oh! Yeah! Totally! *quickly heads over to Wedge and wraps his arm over Wedge's shoulders* finally built up the courage to ask him!

Wedge: *secretly elbows him*

Medix: well that's wonderful! Oh! Sweetspark! We should have a double date with them sometime!

Hotshot: babe you come up with the best ideas *kisses his cheek* we can also teach them how to French kiss!

Medix: *as he gets close with a seductive look* or we could teach them now! *French kisses Hotshot*

Hotshot: *HELL YEAH*

Wedge and Hoist, internally:

*later after a class*

Whirl: *looks at Hoist and Wedge* why aren't you two holding servos like Hotshot and Medix? Isn't that what couples do?

Hotshot: *as he holds Medix's servo with their digits intertwined  securely* yeah come on guys! It's not hard!

Wedge: oh! Right... *takes Hoist's servo but doesn't intertwine their digits for a more secure grip, both of them wearing nervous smiles*

Medix: *cringes slightly as he whispers in Hotshot's audio* they are in desperate need of help.

Hotshot: *whispers back* that's what I was thinking.

*that night*

Wedge: I'm sorry, what.

Hotshot: recharging together!

Hoist: *abort mission* on the same berth??

Hotshot: well duh. It's not that bad! Medix and I do it all the time!

Medix: almost all the time.

Wedge: *he boutta peace out* but why??

Medix: it builds a better relationship between you and your partner. Plus it helps you learn some interesting things about them.

Hotshot: *as he lovingly hugs Medix from behind* it's true! I've learned that Medix is a great cuddler. Ain't that right baby?

Medshot: *kissing ensues*

Wedge: alright alright fine I think we get it! We'll give it a shot.

Medix: *small shriek as Hotshot lifts him up bridal style, giggling as Hotshot looks at him lovingly* alright you two. Have fun! But not too much fun!

Hotshot: *as he walks out* that comes later *giggles with Medix as he walks out carrying him*

Wedge: *faceplants into his berth* glad that's over with.

Hoist: *sits next to him* aw come on Wedge. You've gotta admit that they're perfect for each other.

Wedge: over my offline frame. Now grab those pillows and put them between us.

Hoist: *jokingly* aw you don't wanna cuddle?

Wedge: *yeets a pillow at him*

*the next day*

Medshot: *inseparable*

Whirl: *giggles* I guess you two had fun last night?

Medix: *as Hotshot kisses his neck cables lovingly* what gave it away~?

Whirl: *giggles more and then turns toward the entrance of the break area* hey Hoist! Hey Wedge! How did it go last night??

Wedge: *it was awful* it was great!

Hoist: *2/10* best recharge ever!

Wedge: *secretly elbows him as they walk in holding servos*

Medix: *chuckles softly as Hotshot nuzzles him* that was the same for us. Although I must admit it was more than great *nuzzles Hotshot* it was fantastic.

Hotshot: *chuckles softly as he kisses him* then the rest was history~

Medix: it sure was~ *more kisses*

Wedge: *boutta jump off a cliff*

Hoist: so uh... is this what a long-term relationship is like?

Medix: normally, no. They have their many ups and downs.

Wedge: so I guess this is the "up" for both of you now?

Hotshot: *can't stop loving on Medix* how'd you guess?

Wedge: *gonna hurl* just a hunch

*later*

Hoist and Wedge: *arguing in the lab*

Wedge: I told you this was a bad idea! Now our team will expect us to end up like *shudders* Hotshot and Medix.

Hoist: we won't! Besides, that was way too much loving.

Wedge: wait I thought you supported them?

Hoist: oh I still do. I honestly thought that was super adorable what they were doing earlier! But it's something that I would never do with you.

Whirl: *from out of nowhere* are you two fighting?

Wedge: yes so can you just-

Whirl: *yells out* Hotshot! Medix! They're having their first fight!!

Medshot: *runs in* they are??

Hoist and Wedge: *oh God no not now*

Medix: oh this is definitely something to remember! Remember our first fight sweetspark?

Hotshot: we were fighting about which shelf your bandages went on. I won that argument.

Medix: liar! I won that!

*arguing ensues*

Wedge: *rolls optics so hard that he can see his own brain* and there they go.

Hoist: this must be their "down" moment.

Whirl: yep! And you two will get there soon! Heck you both just had your first fight! Next thing you know you'll both be arguing on where the wedding should take place!

Wedge and Hoist, internally:

*that evening*

Hotshot: *going into his own room and slamming the door*

Medix: *going into his own room and slamming the door harder*

Wedge: *walking the hall with Hoist, yelling* I sure hope that you two have broken up!

Hoist: *elbows him hard*

Whirl: *walking past* they're... having some troubles right now... they're not breaking up but they're needing some time to themselves... but I'm glad you two have things worked out! That's something positive!

Wedge: *as she walks away* yeah... positive...

Hoist: *walks with Wedge into his room* we've got till tomorrow, Wedge. Then we can tell everyone the truth and forget this ever happened, alright?

Wedge: sounds good. But... let's wait until Hotshot and Medix figure things out...

Hoist: wait... but I thought-

Wedge: did you not see how upset Whirl was? But she cheered up when she remembered us being "together".

Hoist: so... extend our time?

Wedge: yes. For Whirl's sake.

*the next morning*

Wedge and Hoist: *"cuddling" together on the couch*

Whirl: *walks in and almost passes out from cute* oh my gosh you two are so adorable!!!

Hotshot: *walking in looking like he's been run over multiple times* who looks so adorable?

Whirl: *points at Hoist and Wedge* them! Don't you agree??

Hotshot: *resisting the urge to burst out crying* y-yeah... s-sure... uh, you guys are doing great! *walks over and collapses onto one of the crates*

Whirl: *visibly concerned* Hotshot? Are you-

Medix: *bursts in crying* Hotshot!! I'm sorry!!!

Hotshot: *bursts out crying* I'm sorry too!

Medshot: *runs into each other's arms and kisses each other fiercely*

Wedge: alright! *away from Hoist* everything is good now and Hoist and I no longer need to pretend that we are dating! *books it out because he still hates Medshot*

Whirl: wait what????

Hoist: we were dared to pretend we were dating for 48 hours.

Hotshot: huh... that makes sense... I knew there was something fishy going on...

Medix: well... you both performed well. I guess.

Hoist: sorry if that was a total let down.

Hotshot: nah it's cool. Now I can start bugging Wedge again by shipping him with you-

Wedge: DON'T YOU DARE HOTSHOT!

Hotshot: oh Wedge~! You two looked so cute together!!!!!
