Sans: *walks into Grillby's, sitting in his usually spot* *the diner seems to be nearly empty except a few drunk monsters* heya, grillbz.

Grillby: *nods as a greeting before reaching for a ketchup bottle on instinct*

Sans: nah, i don't want anythin'.

Grillby: *freezes* *blinks* *turns to Sans slowly* ... *checks his temperature with the back of his hand*

Sans: *gently pushes his hand away, laughing a little* g, i'm not sick, i just don't want anythin'.

Grillby: ... *tilts his head confused*

Sans: uh... i actually... need to talk. *looks away*

Grillby: ... *motions for him to go on*

Sans: *fidgeting with his hoodie sleeve* i... got a weird call earlier... i... don't really know what to think of it...

Grillby: ... *looks at his friend concerned* *gestures to the back room*

Sans: hm?... oh! no, i can talk 'bout it here.

Grillby: *shakes his head, walking towards the back door*

Sans: grillbz, i'm fi-

Grillby: *shoots him a glare*

Sans: ...*blinks*okay, back room, got it.  *follows him*

-about 10.5 seconds later, in the back storage area-

Grillby: ... *gestures for Sans to talk*

Sans: *softly speaks* okay... so i got this phone call... and i don't know what it means... all it said was "tick tock, 5AN5... tick tock"... *looks up at Grillby* i... i don't know...

Sans: *takes in a deep breath* the only way they could have got that name... is if they found the true labs...

Grillby: *notices the shake in Sans' hands*

Sans: i-if- *cuts himself off, taking a deep breath* if they know that... then- *leans against a wall, pinching the bridge of his nose* -dammit!

Sans: *lets himself recuperate again* i don't care what the "tick tock" means, all i know is that in that lab there were huge chucks of information on monster souls... if they got a hold of that name, they coulda easily found the papers on souls. if that falls into the wrong human's hands... *trails off*

Grillby: *notices him shaking more*

Sans: ... grillby, i-... i don't know... *comes to a sudden realization* ... what if... this is what started the monsters goin' missin' a few weeks ago...

Grillby: Sans-

Sans: *doesn't seem to be aware that he spoke* if they know about souls... they could be doing anythin' to them... it's only a matter'a time before--... "tick tock"... *looks at the ground blankly* ...am i...

Grillby: *approaches his friend* Sans-

Sans: am i next... i-i... *laughs hollowly* i'm over th-thinking this, right? heh, this is... this is all... all *voices hitches* f-f*ck! *puts his hands up to his temples, putting pressure on them*

Grillby: Sans! *grabs his wrists, taking his hands away from his face*

Sans: *looks up at him, his eye-sockets void*

Grillby: ... *looks down at him sympathetically* ... *quickly wraps him in a hug*

Sans: mh-!? ... *slowly, shakily, wraps his arms around Grillby* ...g-grillby...

Grillby: Yes?

Sans: ...i...i'm scared.

Turtle side note: Hiya guys, this chapter was a bit... different from the rest. Sans was INTENTIONALLY hard to follow. He was panicking, and when people panic, it's sometimes hard to understand what exactly is going through their mind. Also, yes, Grillby is aware of the true labs, for those of you who might me wondering why he didn't get confused. And finally, here is a quick overview of what happened for those of you who got lost.

-Sans connected the name (5AN5) to the true labs, as that is the only place someone could have learned that name.

-Sans knows that documents on monster souls are also in there.

-If a human learned the information, they could easily use it against monsters.

-Sans believes that a human found the information, which then started the disappearance of many monsters.

-As he is blabbing about that, his mind makes the connection that the call may be indicating that he's next to "go missing."

-He basically now knows almost everything you guys know.
