Chapter 1
Autumn's Point of View
I walked into school, ignoring the stares and glares. They didn't like my snakebites and eyebrow piercing. They didn't like my tattoos and clothing style. All in all, they didn't like me.
I went to my locker and grabbed my textbooks. Suddenly, I couldn't see anything and I laughed half heartedly. I know that coconut smell anywhere.
"Taylor," I said and she removed her hands from my face. I turned around and she smiled her million dollar smile. She looked so beautiful in that floral dress and light denim jacket. Those heels made her legs look so long and skinny. She just looked incredible.
Her blue eyes radiated with happiness and were framed with such long eyelashes. Her lips were bright red and looked extremely kissable.
"Did you hear a word I said?" She asked, waving her hand in my face. I shook my head and she rolled her eyes, playfully annoyed with me.
"You're just extremely beautiful, it caught my attention." I said and she blushed. I chuckled and grabbed her hand. Her flat sparkly silver nails contrasting greatly with my pointed crimson red ones.
"Shut up Autumn," she said and I laughed. We walked to our classroom and many stared at us in disgust. Two girls dating each other? Not something you see everyday.
"What were you telling me at my locker?" I asked her, kind of embarassed I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying.
"So your birthday is tomorrow and tomorrow is Saturday," she said and I nodded. "Do you have plans?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Not that I know of," I said and smiled at her. "Why? What are you planning?" I asked her and she smiled mischievously at me.
"I have a surprise for you, actually, multiple ones." she said and I groaned. "You'll love it Autumn, it'll get you away from you horrible father." She said and I nodded.
"Any thing will be better than spending my birthday with him. Knowing him, he'd make me a prostitute again on my birthday." I said and she nodded.
"I'm going to get you out of there, as soon as you're eighteen. We're leaving this deadbeat town, I promise Autumn. We'll run away, together." She said and I smiled gratefully at her.
We stopped and she looked at me. "I hate seeing you suffer like that." She whispered and I wiped away a single tear that fell from her eye.
"I love you Tay," I said and she chuckled. She returned it and then we shared a quick kiss, ignoring the disgusted looks of our peers. "But we gotta get to class." I said when we pulled away and she sighed.
"We'll continue this later," she said and I laughed. I nodded and we walked, hand in hand, to our class.
-
"Let's go to an ice cream parlor for lunch." I said and she chuckled. "I know how much you love your mint chocolate chip." I said and she nodded.
"Sounds perfect," she said and I smiled. We left the campus and started walking to the nearest parlor, which was only like five minutes away.
"Would you ever get a couple's tattoo?" Taylor asked me and I thought about it. "Not names, like symbols, quotes, things like that."
"Yeah totally, if I can find space for it." I said, looking at my arms. "Maybe my hip or wrist, shoulder blades or collarbones even." I said and thought about it. "Why?"
"Because, I want my first tattoo, and I want it to be with you." She said and I smiled. "Something I can cherish my whole life and smile as soon as I see it."
"It hurts Tay," I told her and she shrugged. "And it's permanent. Are you positive?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Yeah, I'm positive." She said and I nodded. "I wanted to get one tomorrow. Think of it as a birthday tattoo, I know how much you love getting one done." She said and I chuckled.
"Yeah," I trailed off. "What did you have in mind?" I asked her and she blushed deeply. "Come on Tay," I said, poking her side. "Can't be too bad."
"I'll show you tomorrow," she said and I sighed. "Now look, the ice cream parlor, lets get some now." She said and walked quickly into the building.
I laughed and shook my head. Why am I dating her again?
We walked in and it was empty, which was cool. "Ew," I heard someone say and I turned around. I saw the girl behind the counter eyeing me and Taylor disgustedly and I rolled my eyes.
"Baby, go get your ice cream. I'll just pick off of yours." Taylor said and I nodded. She always picks off of mine and eats it. However, I don't mind.
I quickly picked out our two favorite flavors and got it in a cup. The lady handed it to me, and I thanked her while she just rolled her eyes at me.
"Here," I said and handed Taylor a spoon. She had already paid the lady and we decided to just sit here and eat them. "She keeps looking at us,"
"Cause we're sexy," Taylor said and I smiled. I spooned some of the ice cream in my mouth and I looked at Taylor. "Hmm?" She hummed questionably.
"You look wonderful in that dress, did I say that today? No?" I asked and she shook her head with a small smile on her face. "Well, you look wonderful in that dress." I said and she smiled.
"Thanks babe," she said and ate the melting ice cream on her spoon. She didn't eat it because she was waiting for me to speak. "You look hot as always," she said and poked one of my snakebites.
"Thanks boo," I said and she smiled. I took a bite of the ice cream and then my phone vibrated. I sighed and pulled it out while Tay looked at me curiously.
"My dad," I said slowly and read the message. "He says he wants me to come home," I said and she looked at me. "Now." I added and Tay frowned.
"You're leaving then?" She asked, a worry and sad edge to her voice. I felt eyes on us and I knew it was probably just that homophobic lady behind the counter. No one walked in so who else can it be?
"I should," I said and stabbed the melted ice cream with my spoon. "But I don't want to." I said honestly and looked up at her.
"Then stay," she said, her lips forming a small smile. "You can stay with me and my parents for the day and tomorrow. They won't mind. They're never home, they won't care." She told me and I bit my left piercing.
"Are you sure?" I asked her and she nodded. "Maybe-Maybe I will stay then." I said and scooped some ice cream into my mouth. It tasted of caramel and mint.
"Yes," she said and I chuckled at her. "You're my size anyways, so clothes aren't a problem for today or tomorrow." She said and I nodded.
"We should go," I said as I looked at the time. "We still need to get back to school." I said and she laughed.
"When do you ever stay in school past lunch?" She asked me and I rolled my eyes. "You always used to skip the second half."
"What happened was that I started dating you," I said and pointed my plastic spoon at her. "And you made me stay. I've lost my rebellious touch."
"You made me rebellious," Taylor said as she placed her spoon in the empty ice cream cup. I did the same and she gave me a smirk. "So, let's go to the mall yeah?"
"That's my girl."
