It's been a month since the blackout, since I couldn't study for the exam, fearing it will come other blackout, I stopped, I didn't study, Do you wanna know how it go?
If your answer was a big, amazing 'F' .... Ding, Ding, Ding, then your answer its correct, I failed Biology, my mom got disappoint on me, she wasn't so sure why I got a F, if Biology its my favorite subject, well it is, but because I can't concentrate to hard on an answer by fear to snap to someone, I couldn't get the answer, but I can't tell that to my family without telling them I'm a mutant.

I sighed, I was in my room granted, according to mom, being to much outside, it was bad, so she told me to study again, because she talked to Mr. Shane, my Biology teacher to give an other opportunity to do this exam, so here I am, in my room, pretending to study, but what I'm actually doing it's playing with the light of my lamp

On, Off, On, Off, On, Off

I stopped when I heard a car parking in the driveway, I narrowed my eyes, accidentally breaking the lightbulb of the lamp, I flinched and then stepped aside of the window, out of sight, I took a deep breath, the lights of my room starting flickering,
But then I heard a voice, telling me to calm.

"It's Okay, Katerina, just calm down and don't be afraid, it will stop"

The voice was serene, I did what it told me, and the flickering stopped, I smiled and looked around, besides of the broken lamp next to me, everything was in complete order, my smile grew bigger when I realized that even if I lost control for a moment, it wasn't a big lose, nothing got wrong, I was happy, and then I heard mom calling me from downstairs

"Kat, there's some people who wants to talk to you"

"Coming, mom"

I sighed, and then looked at the mirror, my blue hair was hidden under my black haired wig, I took a big breath and opened the drawer, my green contact lenses were there, I glanced to my electric blue eyes and.sighed, 'if it weren't for my eyes, everything will be cool, the wig it isn't too much uncomfortable, I hate it' I thought to myself after putting the conctact lenses, I got out of my room and went to the living room, mom was there along with two men.

The first one looked taller than the other one, he was wearing a brown t-shirt with a jacket and black jeans, he was looking at everything with a look as say 'I'm angry at you, don't look at me' I chucked slightly to myself of my thoughts, I realized that the other man chuckled at the same time as I did, I looked at him curiously, he looked wise, like a um, nerd? Maybe, no offense, but he looked like one, he was wearing a white camisole, jeans and a blue jacket, his hair was brown and his eyes were blue, they looked funny, the way they were standing in my living room all formal, like if they worked to the police or government, I chuckled again b my thoughts, I heard another chuckle and glanced back at them, the 'nerd' one was watching me amused while the 'angry face' was looking at him slightly confused, mom snapped me from my thoughts and then introduced me to them.

"Katerina, sweetie, this are Charles Xavier" She pointed to the 'nerd man' "and this is Erik Lansher" and pointed to 'Angry face', again, nerd man, I mean Charles chuckled, I frowned at him, 'what's so funny?' I thought to myself.

"You, Katerina, your thoughts are kind of funny"

It was the voice that tell me to calm down, I looked around confused, trying to find the source of the voice, I could see Angr-I mean, Erik looking at my confused glance with a knowing face and then looked at Charles.

"Mr. Xavier, Mr. Lensher, this is my daugher, Katerina" Mom ended introducing us, I glared at her when she said my full name, I mean who calls their children 'Katerina' we are in the 21st century, no one calls their child like that, Katerina is a name my grandmother will have, but not a 17 year old girl in the 21st century.

"Please, call me Kat" I added immediately after mom said my full name.

"Nice to meet you, Kat" Charles said, still with an amused face, but then Realization passed through my face after hearing his voice, he was the one taking to me before.

"Yes, that was me Kat, as you can see, I'm, we are like you"

I looked between the both of them, and then looked at mom, she can't know about this, I bit my lip and looked down

"So, Kat, can we talk alone?" It was Erik, I looked back at him, I grinned and nodded, mom wasn't convinced, and Charles talked to her

"Don't worry, Mrs Marshall, we just
Want to talk to Kat of a school it can be good for her, but it has to be alone, it has to be her choice, without a parent intervention" he was calm, I relaxed and looked at mom, she smiled at me and nodded

"Fine, I'll be in the kitchen if you need me"

I grinned watching her go and the looked back at them, I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes to them

"What to do you mean that you are like me?" I asked them looking between the both of them

"Well, we know you are different" Erik said, immediately I thought of my hair and eyes, I ignored it, and looked at them, Charles had a knowing face looking at me.

"I've no idea what are you talking about" I lied, some part of me thought the were telling to me they were mutants too, but I shrugged it off

"We are like you, Kat."
Again I heard Charles's Voice in m head, I grabbed it, trying to get it out. I'm not crazy.

"You are not"

"Stop it" I snapped at him, "I'm not different" I said glaring at them, Charles grinned and looked at Erik

"Fine, just lets talk about your eeducation" He flicked his hand and a pen came floating towards him, I looked at it in awe, I looked back at Charles, like just realizing they were mutants, he was inside my head

"Yes, I was, sorry if I scared you, it wasn't my attention, but now do you believe we are like you?"

I just nodded and looked at them grinning.

"You are mutants" I said, it was the first time I said it aloud, and I found it weird, "but, if you can be inside my head, you already know what I can do, Right?"

"Yes, but we'll like if you show us, more interesting that way" He said, I glanced at Erik, he was watching me carefully, I nodded slowly at both of them, I took a deep breath and looked at my hand, I focused on making it glow, after a moment, it started to glow blue with small lighting, I closed my hand in a fist and the glow disappeared, I looked up and glanced at the lamp beside me and flicked my fingers, the light turn on, and flicjed them again, the light turn off, I looked back at the at them, they were watching me proud, amazed, all the contrary of what I thought they'll be, freaking out, scared and telling me freak.

"You are not a freak, Kat, you are special" Charles told me, I was confused, but then remembered he could read minds, I looked at him for confirmation and he nodded "Yes, I can read minds"

"You are Amazing kid, you are not a freak" Erik said, I smiled at him and looked back at Charles

"Thank you" I said honestly, it felt good showing what I could do without being called freak. "But, why are you here?" I asked them

"We are recruiting mutants, so we can stop a mutant who wants to star a war, his name is Sebastian Shaw" Erik answered, the way he said the name it was like venom, I nodded

"So, there are others like me, I mean, us?" I asked hopefull, Charles must of sense it because he grinned,

"Yes, there will be others with different and unique abilities, you will fit with all of us, what do you say, Kat, want to stop an evil mutant from starting World War III?" Charles asked me, I nodded without hesitation "good, we also can teach tou control your abilities, I'm sorry if I saw your mind, but you seem having trouble controlling it, br I can help you" I nodded excited.

"Okay, so i must tell mom I said yes to the school?" I asked

"Yes, now let's go" Erik answered

"Okay, can you tell my mom? I'll go to my room to grab some clothes.

"Okay, we will" Charles answered and I went to pack, I grabbed a backpack and took sone t-shirts and jeans, socks, two jackets, deodorant, hair clips, my make-up, and some other things, when I came down, mom hugged me tightly and wished me luck, I said goodbye to dad and little Jack and we left, I was excited, I was going to meet people like me, yay!

Let's hope I don't lose control and hurt them.
