If there could be one day Ashley wished would stay forever ,it would be the thirtieth of July . It was her birthday and for all she could remember it was always glorious ,as she would first go to church for a short and alone prayer with Reverend Angelo ,then a birthday party always followed . Best thing was the fact that she and Jeremy always got yo pick the theme . But this year she was scared . Ever since what had happened last year ,she just couldn't want another disgrace again . .............

Last year

"Nancy ,have you gotten everything in place ?"Alessia asked her housekeeper . Today was Ashley's birthday and it had to be perfect as Ashley and Jeremy had picked a pirate theme . Jake and the Neverland pirates .

"Yes ,yes but we still need a Jack ,oh okay Shawn should do it then , he just left a voice mail ".

Thirty minutes later ,and the whole place was bubbling with life . Children up and down in their Neverlandish costumes , Hillsong band was also there doing what they know best , The waiters handing out cotton candy and fortune cookies . It was a success . All she had to do now was to get Ashley dressed up . Sighting Jeremy she called out

"Jeremy , where is she ?"

"I don't know Al , she's probably dressing up to look perfect , but hey let me go get her "

"Nevermind ,why don't you order the kids and just have fun , I'll do that "

On getting upstairs to her daughters room , she met a scare . Ashley was cold ,Cold and lifeless . She couldn't help but to scream .
    Nancy ,Jeremy,Hillsong Leader for the day , and a few of the waiters who were in the main house , had come running upstairs to meet her ,although shocked , there was nothing that could be done as their minds were out of the world.
  Stepping up in front of them as they were about to take her to the hospital , Betty , the Band leader  ,told them to say a short prayer beforehand as she being a strong believer and a prayer warrior .
No doubt the prayer was all they needed , as they all raised their voices in prayer ,Ashley coughed out .
  "Where am I mum ?, what of my birthday ?".
Alessia had known this would still happen but she want ready for it.
Her seven year old daughter was suffering with sickle cell ,and a hole in the heart .....

.......although the party last year still turned out fine , Ashley couldn't just bear the fact that if what had happened last year ,happened again (as she couldn't wall well for a while and has to use a prescribed wheelchair ),she'll be the talk of school . All she had to do was to get her mom cancel her birthday .

"George , it doesn't always have to be very big , at least a party with you and I and aunt Al and aunt Nancy would make her happy trust me .Jeremy stopped and sighed ." I just told you what happened last year and I'm sure she'll be scared ,let's just call aunt Al and you know throw a surprise party "

"Okay so it'll be a surprise right , okay I'm in "

  And before they knew it , a themeless surprise party was planned.

It was just like any other day , Ashley found it hard to believe herself that it was her birthday . No paparazzi to wake her up , no decoration at all ,she felt bored and all . Deciding to go downstairs ,she met her mum on the way .

"Good morning mum "she greeted

  "Morning my princess , and happy birthday .Alessia replied smiling as she walked pass her daughter .

   Ashley went to the kitchen , said hello to her housekeeper ,before going back upstairs for her devotion .
  Obviously today would be a hard knock day .

   At 5:00 pm , it was hard to believe that nobody had called , not even Jeremy or Uncle George  . Ashley scoffed , she knew he'll change after the adoption anyway , but it was too early . Dropping her phone , she was tired of watching Sophia the first already , Ashley thought of what to do before the day ends . Just then her thoughts got interrupted .
"Ashley , come outside "
Although Ashley knew it was her mom , she just couldn't get herself to know why she was being called outside , but then she decided to go see for herself .
On getting outside , she met her mom in front of her black Lexus jeep with the door wide open .
 
  "Hop in Ash , let's go see Jeremy "

  "No mum , I don't want to talk to him anymore ".

  "Are you coming or not ". Alessia asked
  Ashley noticed that her mom didn't care to listen or even to force her , and to be honest it was weird .

  "Okay mom "

The trip down to Mc Donalds was peace and quiet all through , another unusual thing Ashley noticed about today.  Cursing underneath her breath , Ashley turned on the car radio herself .

On getting inside , they got a seated and ordered . Just then the light went off . Trying her best to act all matured and not scared , Ashley got the shock of her life as  soon as the light came back on .

  "Happy birthday Ash "..
No doubt that was the voice of all 32 of her classmates . She wasn't expecting this . It was like a shock , which became worse when she saw her Mom, Jeremy and George carrying a very big Sophia cake .
She got up ,and stood startled . Just then she felt the tears pouring out .

No doubt the party was going good and swell ,Ashley managed to corner Jeremy, to talk to him .

"No doubt ,its your idea "

"Yes ,and trust me there's more "he managed to say .

"Why are you crying ?". It was unusual to see Jeremy in such mood

"Just promise me ,you won't die soon  "he said and ran off

"Jeremy ,Jeremy "she called out . Did she ever tell him she would die ?, why was he acting so emotional ?.
  Trying to clear her head she decided to go meet her friends as the music played on ...
